Abstract

Quantitative Structure and Relationship (QSAR) of meisoindigo derivative compounds was successfully carried out. The purpose of this study was to find out the best model of meisoindigo derivative compounds as breast anticancer. The research method of this research using the semiempirical PM3 method. The semiempirical method of PM3 was chosen as a better method because it has model results that more represent physicochemical aspects. The selection of the best mathematical model is done by multilinear regression statistical analysis of the calculation data obtained. The results of this study formulate model 5 as the best model with a formula Log 1/IC50 = 44.316 + (-0.0000282*Eis.at) + (-0.257*µ) + (-0.054*LogP) + (0.014*EH) + (-7.241*qC6) + (-1.734*qC9) + (25.711*qO10) + (7.309*qN11) + (94.825*qC13) + (58.794*qO14) + (5.866*qC15)

Abstract

Theurapetic drugs monitoring (TDM) is used to adjust individual drug therapy. TDM purpose is to maximize the therapeutic effect and reduce the side or toxic effects of the drug. In general, TDM includes sample preparation, conducting drug analysis and interpreting the concentration of the drug. The development of analytical techniques resulted in the determination of pharmacokinetic characters by measuring drug concentrations in the blood more easily. Drug analysis can be done by spectrophotometric, chromatographic or immunoassay methods. Immunoassay could provide fast results and easy to use, but this method cannot distinguish between drugs that have similar structures. In addition, immunoassays are not available for all drugs monitored in clinical laboratories, so chromatographic methods such as GC, HPLC, GC/MS, and HPLC / MS can still be applied to TDM.

Abstract

Research has been carried out entitled the effect of carrageenan addition Eucheuma cottonii and glycerol as edible coating of avocado fruit (Persea americana Mill.) From Takengon, Central Aceh Regency to extend storage time. This study aims to find out how the effect of the addition of carrageenan concentration variations Eucheuma cottonii and glycerol as edible coatings in extending the shelf life of avocados (Persea americana Mill.). The variations in the concentration of comparable carrageenan and glycerol used as edible coating are 2: 2%, 3: 2%, 4: 2%, 2: 3%, 3: 3% and 4: 3% in distilled water. The coating process is done by dipping avocados for 1 minute and stored at room temperature for 10 days in an open container. The results showed that the physical appearance of avocados was best obtained from edible coating with variations in concentrations of 2: 2%, 2: 3% and 3: 3% (carrageenan: glycerol) characterized by bright flesh color, hard texture, fresh aroma and good taste, while avocados at carrageenan concentrations and glycerol 3: 2%, 4: 2% and 4: 3% indicate poor conditions and are not suitable for consumption. Avocados with edible coating 2: 2%, 2: 3% and 3: 3% were then tested and obtained by weight loss in a row of 11.562%, 8.815% and 9.34%, moisture content 73.73%, 65.77% and 77.84%, reducing sugar levels 1.15%, 0.80% and 0.97% and vitamin C levels 0.17%, 0.16% and 0.31%.

Abstract

Fruits are perisbable comestible that having short shelf life. The disadvantage of fruits since post harvest to received by consumers in quantity and quality is caused by microorganisms, insect, and the conditions of distribution and storage. Carrageenan edible film packaging is one of proper alternative to increase endurance and shelf life of fruits. It also becoe a solutio for undegradable plastic packaging that causing environmental pollution. Characterization which is common being conducted to edible film are mechanic properties (tensile strength and elongation break), thickness, solubility, water and vapor permeability rate. Several studies show that fruits with carragenan edible film and coating increase the perishable significanly comparing to uncoated fruits (control), so that it could lengthen the shelf life, reduce disappear of the odor, slow down colour change and gase transfer.

Abstract

This study aims to quantify the nitrogen level in the three different forms of fertilizer product: urea, compost, and liquid fertilizer manufactured by local Acehnese companies and compare it to the Indonesian National Standard (SNI) 19-7030-2004. All samples were analysed by using Kjeldahl method which consists of three steps: destruction, distillation, and titration. The analysis shows that the concentration of nitrogen in the urea, compost, and liquid fertilizer is 46.04; 2.79, and 0.0360% respectively. The results indicates that, when the data were compared to the value of nitrogen level in the SNI, both urea and compost are qualified to be released to national market. However, since the content of nitrogen in the liquid product is below the SNI, the latter fertilizer might not be considered as a qualified product in the term of nitrogen level.

Abstract

The goal of this study is to quantitaively determine both the concentration of sulfate (SO4-2) contained in bottled-drinking water (AMDK) via spectrophotometry UV-Vis and the quality of the water compared to Permenkes No. 429/MENKES/PER/IV/2010. The sample was mixed with BaCl2 to form BaSO4 which can be recognised by employing UV-Vis spectrophotometer at 420 nm wave length. The obtained absorbance data were then applied to the linear equation proposed by using standard sulfate solution. The analysis shows that the various products of AMDK consumed Acehnese people contain sulfate in low level, numerically under 0,0397 ppm. Thie research conclude that the AMDK is safe to be consumed daily.
