Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the pattern of socio-economic relations in gold mining in Bombana Regency. This research was carried out in Tahi Ite Village, Rarowatu District, Bombana Regency by using a qualitative approach. The results showed that the pattern of socio-economic relations in gold mining in Tahi Ite Village, Rarowatu Subdistrict, Bombana District intertwined, among others; 1) Government's Social-Economic Relationship with the Community, namely the transfer of management with consideration of income. 2) Government's Socio-Economic Relations with Investors, namely increasing regional own-source revenue (PAD) through profit-sharing/royalty 3) Investor's Social-Economic Relationship with the Community, namely the opening of employment opportunities. 4) Socio-Economic Relations Among Communities, namely land management by way of profit sharing or percent of the land.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the considerations or reasons why fishing communities use of the Bagan Apung and their impact on the socio-economic life of the fishing communities of Pasir Putih Village, Lembo District, North Konawe Regency. This type of research is using qualitative descriptive. Data collection techniques in this study were carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results in this study indicate that using the Bagan Apung by fishermen is due to the consideration that it is simple to make, simple to use, and quickly gets the catch. The impact of the use of the Bangan Apung on the socio-economic life of the fisherman community, namely social impacts includes education, social interaction, and health. While the economic impact includes income, expenditure, and investment.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the kinds of community participation and the factors driving community participation in rural development in Oengkolaki Village, Mawasangka District, Buton Tengah Regency. This type of research is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques through literature review and field research conducted through observation, interviews, and documentation. After the data has been redundant, then completed the analysis by using qualitative techniques. The results of the study aimed that the form of community participation in rural development in Oengkolaki Village, Mawasangka District, Buton Tengah Regency included participation in development planning, development implementation, and participating in utilizing the results of development. The factors driving community participation in development are awareness, community capacity, and rising community income.

Abstract

This study aims to discover the impact of ore nickel management by PT. VDNI (Virtue Dragon Nickel Industry) on the socio-economic conditions of the community in Morosi Village, Morosi District, Konawe Regency. Methodologically, the decision of research informants was used as a purposive sampling technique. The results showed that the impacts of nickel management in Morosi Village included social and economic impacts. Social impacts include increasing education continuity, free health services for workers, making social solidarity between workers, land conflicts between citizens and companies, and decreasing interest in young people to farm. While the impact on the economic condition of the community includes opening up employment opportunities, increasing income, and improving the housing conditions of the workers.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the various barriers faced by scavengers in satisfying the needs of family life and livelihood strategies of scavengers in the Final Waste Disposal Site (TPAS) in Kendari City. The research approach used is a qualitative descriptive approach. Informants in this study include the Head of Rukun Tetangga, Kendari City Sanitation Department staffers and 11 scavengers. The results of this study indicate that various barriers faced by scavengers in fulfilling the needs of family life in TPAS in Kendari City are scavengers who do not have their production assets, the difficulty of getting credit under the pattern of livelihoods, lack of alternative livelihoods. The strategies undertaken in fulfilling the life needs of scavenger families in TPAS in Kendari City include active strategies, passive strategies, and network strategies. Active strategy, when fulfilling the needs of life by a person or family by maximizing all the resources and potential possessed by their family. The passive strategy is a survival strategy that is done by minimizing family expenses. While the network strategy is a strategy carried out by utilizing social networks.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the process of relocation of the Pasar Panjang traders to the Central Market of Wua-Wua Kendari City and to determine the impact caused after the relocation. This research uses a qualitative approach, where data is collected through observation, interview, and documentation techniques. The results of this study indicate that the relocation of Pasar Panjang traders to the Wua-Wua Central Market of Kendari City is intended for fire victims. The government provides approximately 1,200 stalls with adequate facilities. The impact caused by the relocation of the Pasar Panjang traders to the Central Market of Wua-Wua, Kendari City, includes social impacts, namely the interaction between traders is well established, some locations are not given much attention to cleanliness. While the economic impact of the lack of merchant income due to lack of visitors, most traders take capital in the bank to open a business so they do not have savings, the volume of business traders to decline.

Abstract

This study aims to discover the role and driving factors of the clove farmer's wife in meeting household needs in Patowonua Village, Lasusua District, North Kolaka Regency. The research approach used is descriptive qualitative, which is intended to describe reality in explanations and descriptive narratives. Data obtained through interview and observation techniques in the Patowonua Village community. The results of this study indicate that the role of the wife of a clove farmer in meeting household needs is helping the husband grow crops; managing household finances; sell the results of farming; borrow money from family; participate in producing agricultural commodities. The participation of clove farmer's wives in meeting household needs is driven by several factors, namely the desire to increase family income; to fill in spare time; and there is an encouragement of interest to help her husband.

Abstract

Temanggung is one of the biggest tobacco producers in Indonesia. So far, tobacco has only been understood from an economic perspective. Though there are cultural aspects that also accompany it. Planting tobacco for the community is not only sowing seeds, but also a matter of noble culture. One of them is tobacco farmers in Legoksari Village. This research aimed to describe the cultural process in tobacco farming in Legoksari Village. This research used a qualitative method with ethnographic approach. The data analysis technique used was the Spradley model with domain, componential, taxonomic, and theme analysis. The results of this research indicated that in tobacco farming in Legosari Village there are four cultural rituals from the beginning of planting to harvest. Starting from Nyecel, Among Tebal, Lekas ​​Tebal, and Miwiti. Including the initial planting period using the Pranoto Mongso calendar. Planting tobacco also pays attention to siti, wiji, wanci, and perati. This showed that tobacco farming in Temanggung is full of cultural noble values.

Abstract

COVID-19 pandemic which has spread to 35 states in Nigeria as a health crisis has translated to economic crisis affecting all sector of the Nigeria economy and brought the whole states to its knees. The fundamental question that comes to mind is; in what way did a health crisis translate to an economic crisis? How /why COVID-19 crippled many states economy in Nigeria? Our objective was to examine the socio-economic effect of the lockdown policy on business, transport and service/hospitality industries in three selected metropolis from three states within the period of relaxation. Using the multistage sampling method, we selected 300 respondents across the three sector examined. Data obtained via structured questionnaires was analyzed using inferential statistics. This includes Multiple Regression Analysis, Coefficient for correlations of independent sample and analysis of variance (ANOVA) for significant impact samples. The findings reveal that the increasing number of lockdown days, interstate travel ban, social distancing, and restriction to essentials services severely affected the level of economic activities within the period under review. In contrast, CPL PSL RSM had negative relationship but significant impact in the model, while BSK and ITR negative non-significant impact in the models due to imposed restriction on internal movement, while the rest variables had positive significant effect on the level of economic activities.

Abstract

The article discusses the problems of small business and entrepreneurship in Uzbekistan and employment through the establishment of new small enterprises and micro-firms, as well as the role and importance of small business in the further development of economic potential, employment promotion and development of mechanisms to increase direct income. The development of the economy, the liberalization of entrepreneurial activity in addressing issues related to the creation of new jobs, increasing employment, the development of local industries based on the efficient use of local resources. The issues of improving the export potential of the country, taking measures to further increase the importance of this small business and entrepreneurship, the organization of production on the basis of local resources, require less investment, ie allow them to quickly adapt to market conditions.
