Abstract

Creativity in children is indicated by independence, confidence, and skills in problem-solving. The pre-research confirmed there are students with immature creativity. This was seen in those who were not confident and did not believe in self-reliance during the learning process. This study aims to determine the extent to which the role playing method can improve the creativity of early childhood at PAUD Nurul Hilal. This study belongs to classroom action research. The subjects of this study were all students of PAUD Nurul Hilal (16 students). The data were collected through the use of tests, observation sheets, and field notes. They were then analyzed by using the P = f/N x 100 to identify the students’ creativity and the P= (post rate - base rate)/ base rate x 100% to clarify the improvement of the students’ creativity. The results show the students’ creativity in the pre-cycle was 24 (30%) “Not good”, the cycle I was 46 (57.5%) “Sufficient”, and 75 (93.75%) “Very good” in cycle II. These infer the role-playing method can improve the students’ creativity of PAUD Nurul Hilal, Sub-district of Batang Tuaka.

Abstract

Recognizing geometrical shapes for children is a children’s skill in recognizing, showing, stating, and collecting geometrical things. These processes start by introducing geometrical concepts by identifying the geometrical characteristics. The purpose of this study was to clarify the use of clay can improve the students’ skill of group B1 of TK Annisa, Tambang Sub-District, Kampar Regency on recognizing the geometrical shapes. This study belongs to Classroom Action Research (CAR). It was done in two cycles, in which each cycle consists of two meetings. This was completed in four steps, namely: planning, action, observation, and reflection. The results revealed the students’ skills in recognizing the geometric shapes were 35% in pre-cycle, 55.78% in cycle I, and 85% in cycle II. The overall improvement of the students’ skill in recognizing the geometrical shapes was on an average of 55.46%. Thus, the use of clay media educational teaching aids can improve the ability to recognize geometry in early childhood.

Abstract

Quality education can be traced back to the level of early childhood education as assessed by the participation rate in Early Childhood Education (ECE). The ECE participation rate is determined by three indicators: the School Participation Rate (SPR), the Gross Enrollment Rate (GER), and the Pure Participation Rate (PPR). However, there are still gaps in the national ECE participation rate, children who have not earned ECE services, and some villages that do not have ECE institutions. Although the Ministry of Education and Culture has established guidelines for one village one ECE. The purpose of this research is to provide an overview of ECE participation rates in Riau Province and to explain what factors influence them. This study used descriptive analysis. Secondary data were obtained from the Central Bureau of Statistics, the Ministry of Education and Culture, and the Ministry of National Development Planning/National Development Planning Agency. The results show that the ECE participation rate, in general, has been fluctuating, especially in the last five years, and that the GER of children attending ECE in Riau province is still lower than the national rate, while the PPR in rural areas is higher than the NER in urban areas. According to PER by gender, girls who attend ECE on time contribute more than boys. Those are influenced by the fact that ECE institutions are not recorded in the education database, and there are social trends that lead parents to prefer homeschooling over ECE institutions, particularly with the impact of the COVID-19.

Abstract

Children who often receive and get disapproval, fear, and feel disappointment will cause children to lose their confidence. This will continually occur until they grow up if it consents. This will greatly interfere the children's development in many ways. What parents can do in developing children's self-confidence are that they should 1) appreciate whatever the children got, 2) wisely praise in order not to be arrogance, 3 wisely criticize without blaming, 4) support their abilities; never compare them with other children, 5) establish a harmonious relationship. Institutions for early childhood can optimize the development of students’ self-confidence by 1) Familiarizing self-confidence through independent aspects, 2) Familiarizing self-confidence through expressing ideas, and 3) implementing learning methods that aim to increase student's self-confidence.

Abstract

Early childhood is those who are at the age of 0-6 years. They are at a very rapid stage of growth and development, both physically and psychologically. They learn in their own way. They have two aspects of development, namely biological and psychological. This is quantitative descriptive research, which was conducted at the TPA Al-Ikhsan, Belantaraya, Indragiri Hilir, Riau. The subject of this research was 23 students of TPA Al-Ikhsan. The data in this study was taken by using tests of early childhood motor skills, and documentation. They were then analyzed by using P= ×100% to see the motor skills of children. The results presented that the students’ motoric skills were at 54,10% in the category of developed as expected (DE). On the other hand, the students’ motoric skills developed as expected.

Abstract

Cooperation is the ability to work together to complete a task with others. The process of working together children are trained to be able to suppress individual personalities and prioritize group interests. Children's learning activities at Kenanga Raya Kindergarten on the ability to cooperate are still not developed. Based on my observations, it shows that children still like to play alone and do not want to play with other friends. This study aims to improve children's cooperation skills through puzzle games at Kenanga Raya Kindergarten Medan. The subjects used in this study were group B children aged 5-6 years, totaling 9 children. Data collection is done by direct observation, performance, and documentation. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the improvement of children's cooperative skills through group B puzzle games at Kenanga Raya Kindergarten Medan in the 2020/2021 academic year. This can be proven by the pre-cycle results of 25%, 52,2% in the first cycle and increased to 86% in the second cycle. So it can be concluded that puzzle games improve the cooperative ability of group B children in Kenanga Raya Kindergarten Medan.

Abstract

The ECCE management often finds obstacles, including a lack of understanding of management, non-professional teaching staff, inadequate infrastructure, and so on. This study aims to identify the implementation of the management at the ECCE Azzahra, East Lampung. This research is qualitative research by adopting the Milles and Huberman model, namely: data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Data was collected by using structured interviews and documentation. The results revealed that the implementation of the management at the ECCE Azzahra, East Lampung had been carried out in accordance with the theory. This was proved by the assessment – based on the instruments that have been made – carried out by the principal once a week. The assessment and supervision include the performance of teachers and staff at PAUD Azzahra, East Lampung. The findings were then evaluated and presented in weekly meetings to teachers and staff.

Abstract

Mathematics is still considered one of the difficult and frightening subjects to learn. The play method is considered to be able to make the mathematics learning process more enjoyable, so that it can stimulate children's mathematical abilities. The purpose of this study was to determine the mathematical development of Group B children of PAUD Kasih Ibu. This research is a Classroom Action Research (PTK) in collaboration with class teachers. The subjects in this study were as many as 14 children. Data were collected using child ability test sheets, observations, field notes, and documentation. Data analyzed using P= . The results showed that children's mathematical ability in pre-cycle was 42%, cycle I was 72.3% and Cycle II was 99.1%. In addition, children have also been seen 1) like to play, 2) like new things, and 3) children are easily bored, so they need a variety of media and learning methods.

Abstract

An educational institution must be well managed in order to produce the expected results. There is often however misappropriation by individuals. In addition, the lack of institutions’ ability to obtain financial resources, the large operational expenditures of education and infrastructure and the non-transparency of financial information submitted to institutional supervisory get serious problems. This study aims to find out the picture of financial management in Bunga Tanjung Kindergarten, Sarolangun. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach. The data was collected through a structured interview with the manager of Bunga Tanjung Kindergarten, Sarolangun. The data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s model, namely: data collection, data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results showed that school finances were well managed as planned as budgets. This is shown by several activity plans that are realized as appropriate namely transparency, accountable, effective, and efficiency. The financial management in this school starts from planning, implementing, recording, accountability, and reporting.

Abstract

The interest of a child in the learning process becomes an important factor that the teacher must pay attention to. The child’s disinterest in the learning process results in the child’s development, especially the child’s motor, being hampered. This study, in accordance, aims to realize the use of loose part media to improve the fine motor skills of children aged 5-6 years in group B of Pembina State Kindergarten, Tembilahan. This research uses a qualitative approach, where data was collected by using structured interview techniques and documentation. The informants in this study were the class teacher and the accompanying teacher. The data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman model data triangulation. The results showed that the media loose part was always used in the learning process. This is due to its flexibility in every lesson, its ease of use in games, and its liking to the child.  In addition, this also gives freedom to children to put their idea, creativity, and imagination into the activity.
