Abstract

The practice of Islamic health emerged in the sixth century AD influenced by three health traditions, namely ancient civilization, Bedouin Arabic, and Thibbun Nabawi. There is no much data related to health practice around the sixth century to the seventh century BC, except for nursing conducted by Rufaidah Al-Aslamiyah. She became an important figure in developing Islamic health practice and the involvement of women in the Islamic war. The purpose of this research is to determine the description of medicine/health in the Islamic world in the classical period and the role of Rufaidah Al-Aslamiyah in her involvement nursing field of the Islamic world. The method of this research is the historical research. The research method was carried out through four-stage, they are heuristics, criticism, interpretation, and historiography. Based on the research conducted, it could be stated that the practice of world health has emerged since 7,000 BC. In the sixth to seventh centuries Rufaidah Al-Aslamiyah had an important role in the development of world health practice. She started nursing for the first time in the Islamic world. Some of her important roles include: establishing a nursing school, participating in the war, establishing a field hospital, creating a nurse code of ethics, developing Islamic spiritual services, and being active in social activities in the city of Medina. It has also been proven that the first nursing knowledge was not conceived by Florence Nightingale in the 19th century, however, it has existed since the sixth century by Rufaidah Al-Aslamiyah. Keywords: Health practice, Islamic health practice, nursing.

Abstract

This article discusses the constitution (undang-undang) of West Sumatra. The Minangkabau people constitute the Matrilineal community. Their customs and culture place the women as the inheritors of inheritance and kinship. Nevertheless, the role of men who actively play roles in religious and political spheres is still significant. Seen from their economy, the Minangkabau  indigenous people have a wealth of fertile land so that the majority of the community's work is farming various plants such as coffee, spices, rice etc. The progress of the community is not only in the economic field but also the development of Islam. The spread of Islam continues to grow and the Islam has been a popular religion among the Minangkabau people. The community also has a legal order written in an Act, which was written in Minangkabau in 1837 precisely after the Padri war and the Dutch rule in the Minangkabau land. Dutch Residents (Heinmers) ordered community leaders to write a customary law into the West Sumatra Act, the enactment of this West Sumatra Law until 1862 because when the Dutch set new regulations on the Minangkabau community, namely stelsel culture so that people followed all the new rules. The West Sumatra Law is divided into three parts: the Adat Law in Nagari, the Murder Case Law, and the Syara Companding Adat Law. Keywords: Minangkabau Society, customary law, local act.

Abstract

This article deals with the role of a Peter William Hofland in developing the lands of Pamanoekan en Tjiasem in Subang Regency. William was considered to have successfully developed the lands, particularly in running the plantation business within the area of Subang. This study uses historical methods, namely heuristics, criticism, interpretation, historiography. Historically, William managed the land of Pamanoekan en Tjiasem since 1840 until his death in 1972. Within a period of 32 years, he had succeeded in developing the land of land in his territory namely Pamanoekan en Tjiasem Landen which is now known as Subang Regency.Keywords: Land Policy, Peter William, Plantation Business

Abstract

The development of the press cannot be separated from the emergence of the idealism of the nation's struggle to achieve independence.  One effort to achieve this is by publishing appropriate readings for the nation's successors.  This was done by the Pagoejoeban Pasoendan organization which published a special rubric named moerangkalih in the Sipatahoenan newspaper.  This study aims to determine the history of the establishment of the Sipatahoenan newspaper in 1922-1935 and find out the educational discourse in the rubric of Moerangkalih Sipatahoenan newspaper in 1935. The method used is a historical research method with four stages namely heuristics, criticism, interpretation and historiography.  The results of this study Sipatahoenan was  from the results of the Pagoejoeban Pasoendan conference on 25-26 December 1922 to be published under the leadership of Ahmad Atmaja Pagoejoeban Pasoendan, Tasikmalaya Branch.  On April 29, 1931 Sipatahoenan was transferred to the central board so that a moerangkalih rubric was published which contained appropriate reading for children at that time. Educational elements that can be found include educating readers to better appreciate life, the way to achieve the glory of life, as well as stories that have moral values in it such as how bad deeds someone does will return to him and the consequences of lazy deeds done continuously and repeatedly. Keyword: Newspaper, press, education means

Abstract

The dissemination of Islamic da'wah in the area of Rancakalong District, Sumedang Regency, began in 1957. At the time, a kiai (Islamic scholar) came from the southern Sumedang aiming to spread the Islamic da'wah in Rancakalong District. Before his arrival, The religious conditions of Rancakalong people are not so prominent. Although at that time, the mosques already existed in several places, but there was no religious leader who could guide the community yet to be able to prosper the mosque and other forms of religious activities. The  was called K.H. Sholeh Abdul Hafidz. This study uses qualitative methods, namely data collection through interviews and documentation. The data analysis technique is done by the heuristic, criticism, interpretation, and historiography. The results of this study indicate that K.H. Sholeh Abdul Hafidz came to Rancakalong in 1957. The initial step of the preaching carried out by K.H. Sholeh Abdul Hafidz, began with his approach to the young and the old group of the community. The contribution form of his da'wah in Rancakalong District consisted of the establishment of the Bunsiari Islamic Boarding School I, then the Majelis Taklim of Bunsiari Islamic Boarding School I, and four Madrasa Diniyah Takmiliyah which were founded by K.H. Sholeh Abdul Hafidz’schildren.

Abstract

The Islamization in Indonesia since the 7th century  has also involved the transformation of Islamic religious knowledge, also called pengajian (Islamic learning).  The study in its development is divided into two types;  First, non-formal Quranic recitation such as Quranic recitation at home, langgar and mosque.  Secondly, formal Islamic learning is institutionalized like in a pesantren.  Islamic boarding schools continue the tradition of formal learning while non-formal recitation has developed since the beginning of Islamization in the 7th century and has still lived in various forms.  Non-formal learning because of its egalitarian and flexible nature so that there are no specific ties which are more attractive to many people to attend the recitation.  This study aims to determine how the history, methods and study patterns used by Maiyah Jamparing Asih.  The method used in this study is the historical research method in four stages such as heuristics, criticism,  interpretation and historiography.  The results of this study show that the Islamic learning of Maiyah Jamparing Asih was established in November 2015 by four people namely Wawan, Mufti, Andityas and Nissa which were approved by Cak Nun and Sheikh Kamba at his home in Jakarta.  The learning pattern or method used by Maiyah Jamparing Asih in 2015 and 2016 almost entirely uses the general learning pattern, then in 2017 used the way of  interpreting pattern of the Quran and in 2018 used the general learning pattern, and the recitation method used in 2015 and 2016 uses the lecture method, then in 2017 and 2018 it used the mudzakarah method.

Abstract

This study aims to determine how the history of the Lamajan Hydroelectric Power in 1925, both in terms of the geographical, demographic conditions of Pangalengan and also the components that still exist in Lamajan. Lamajan is a Dutch hydroelectric power plant (PLTA) which was built in 1924 in Pangalengan, Bandung and has been operating since 1925. Lamajan has three generator units, the engine used by Lamajan supplied from the Dutch factories Heemaf and Smit Slikkerveer, initiated by V.H Willem Smith & Co. and R.W.H. Hofstede Crull. The method used in this study is a qualitative method, namely by collecting data through literature and documentation. This method is carried out through four stages namely, heuristics, criticism, interpretation, and historiography. The results of this study show this hydroelectric power plant was built during the Dutch colonial era in 1920-1924 and operated in 1925. This power plant was initially built by a Dutch engineer named Willem Beyerinc K.  for the electricity needs of sugar factories but over time was used to illuminate the area of Bandung and its surroundings, this power plant utilizes the flow of water from the Cisarua and Cisangkuy rivers.

Abstract

This article discusses the history and the role of KH Idham Chalid in organizing the Asian-African Islamic Conference in Bandung in 1965. The conference was held on 6-14 March 1965 in the city of Bandung precisely in Gedung Merdeka aimed at combating ¬neo-colonialism and uniting the solidarity of Muslims of Asian and African nations. According to Sukarno, the conference was that every country in Asia and Africa could be free from all forms of colonialism and therefore the religion of Islam could flourish in every country. This Islamic Conference deals with how to contribute to the the greatness of Islam, to get complete independence and to organize solidarity. KH Idham Chalid became the central figure of the Asia Africa Islamic Conference. The method used in this study is the historical research method, while the steps of the research are as follows: First heuristic second critique third interpretation and fourth historiography. From this study, we have seen that KH Idham Chalid had given huge contribution to organize this important Islamic Conference and also could manage the potential conflict and debate among the delegation of Muslim countries.

Abstract

This article seeks to describe one of the Dutch-Indonesian conflict, the liberation of West Irian. The focus of this study is the role of Abdul Haris Nasution in the Liberation of West Irian in 1957-1962. The method used in this study is historical research method which is carried out through four stages: heuristic, criticism, interpretation, and historiography. Abdul Haris Nasution’s role in this event was taking over Dutch companies, establishing the National Front for the Liberation of West Irian (FNPIB) and becoming its chairman, also TNI diplomacy by buying weapons and mision abroad to hear other countries’ responses regarding West Irian.
