Abstract

Bali has changed. The world is no longer partially controlled by men but there are forms of marriage where both the bride and groom act as purusha (the power of patriarchy) or have the same rights and obligations between them. This qualitative study found that the number of bride and groom couples in Bali who choose the form of marriage "pada gelahang" (having the same rights and obligations), from year to year tends to increase. The background or main reason for choosing the form of the marriage is to continue the regeneration. There are three principles or attitudes of life that need to be held and respected so that the marriage achieves prosperity and happiness forever (find a forever happiness), namely paksa, lasia, and satya.

Abstract

With the enactment of a global agenda known as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), all local governments must mainstream the environment in various government programs and policies. The mainstreaming is carried out because of the increase in anthropogenic activities which are predicted to have an impact on the existence of development and the environment. The Province of Bali has a variety of traditional wisdom that has significantly contributed greatly to environmental services and the provision of environmental services. However, increasing population growth has the potential to reduce environmental quality because of the excessive exploitation of natural resources without taking into account the sustainability of Bali's natural resource functions that have limitations. Related to this, the sensitivity and alignments of the environment that were patterned in the SDGs from various stakeholders need to be improved in an effort to build togetherness to conduct environmental management holistically.

Abstract

Cultural tourism of Bali was supported by the existence of tourist objects or village activities, including the existence of the tourist village of Batuan, Sukawati, Gianyar that was flooded by tourists. This paper discusses the existence of tourist attraction at ‘Pura Batuan’ as multicultural education and growing entrepreneurship of the local people around the tourist object of “Pura Desa Batuan”. The research data was collected through observation, document study and interviews with 8 informants: visitor and top leader of Batuan Village and researcher of Balinese culture. Data analysis was carried out descriptively, qualitatively by applying stakeholder and cultural commodification theory. The results of the study show that the cultural heritage of Pura Desa Batuan had become part of the main tourist attraction in the tourist village of Batuan, Sukawati, Gianyar Regency which attracts tourists. Its existence has become a vehicle for multicultural education, strengthening the cultural traditions of the people and entrepreneurship of the Balinese people in the local village.

Abstract

The implementation of local governance involves not only the detachment from the shackles of central hegemony, the implementation of decentralization and regional autonomy policies, and the level of empowerment of civil society, but also attention to the ongoing conditions of the transition to democracy in people's lives in the region. Debureaucratization policy is one of the prerequisites for the implementation of good governance. The application of this policy requires the existence of a regional bureaucratic structure that can guarantee that there will be no distortion of aspirations coming from the community and avoid abuse of power. Debureaucratization requires that local governments can be more adaptive to changes and dynamics of society. Thus the bureaucracy will be more just and in favor of the sovereignty of the people so as to prioritize the interests of the people in a professional, proportionate and efficient manner. Debureaucratization practices and decentralization policies have become the main determinants that influence the dynamics of change for the realization of regional governance.

Abstract

Sad Kerti is six kertis or kertihs (noble behavior) which consists of atma, samudra, wana, danu, jagat, and jana. It is a Hindu concept that is very basic and meaningful and challenging to realize in reality. The six are the basis of this life. Realizing this, the government of Bali, through the new Governor and the new Deputy Governor, has built a comprehensive plan through the paradigm of "Nangun Sad Kerti Loka Bali" which is full of challenges and hopes to build Bali in the next five years. This qualitative article shows that the sad kerti is relevant to be implemented in the development of contemporary Bali that requires its ecological, social and cultural-religious touch. In this way, the well-being of the Balinese people by birth and mind is believed to be achieved as planned. All parties, both the government, the private sector, and the (Balinese) people are actively involved in working together to make it happen.
