Abstract

This research entitled “Correlation between Students’ Self-Confidence and Their Academic Achievement in Speaking III Course. The problem statement of this research was is there any significant correlation between students’ self-confidence and their academic achievement in the speaking III course. The objective of this research was to find out significant correlation between students’ self-confidence and their academic achievement in the speaking III course of the third semester at Lakidende Unaaha University. This research was a quantitative research that using a correlation design. The result of the research was the students of Lakidende Unaaha University had mean score of self-confidence high with score 81.10 % and mean score of academic achievement was high with score 81.75 %. Furthermore, the coefficient correlation rxy = 0.705. It meant that, the correlation was high (there was correlation).

Abstract

  Abstract This study aims to determine the effect of the Directed Reading Activity strategy on poetry reading skills of grade VIII students of SMP Negeri 2 Sunggal in Deli Serdang Regency in 2019-2020 school year. The background of this research is that students' low reading ability, especially poetry reading, is still not good because in reading poetry students are still having difficulty pronouncing intonation and expression when reading poetry as a result students still look ordinary like reading texts. This study included quantitative quasi-experimental research. Instructors used are tests using performance tests. The results of this study indicate that from the results of the pretest t test data can be obtained in the form of a significance value t-table of 2.00 <t-count 0.93 and from the results of posttest t test can be obtained data in the form of t-table significance value 2.00> t- count 12.32. That means that the probability is <0.05. So that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. So it can be said that there are differences in poetry reading skills of students in the class using the Directed Reading Activity strategy with classes that use teaching with the lecture method, the results of analysis between the Directed Reading Activity strategy (variable X) on poetry reading skills of eighth grade students. Keywords: Learning Strategy, Directed Reading, Poetry Reading Skills   Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Pengaruh strategi Directed Reading Activity terhadap keterampilan membaca puisi siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Sunggal Kabupaten Deli Serdang tahun ajaran 2019-2020. Latar belakang penelitian ini yaitu rendahnya kemampuan siswa dalam membaca khususnya membaca puisi masih kurang baik karena dalam membaca puisi siswa masih kesulitan untuk mengucapkan intonasi dan ekspresi ketika membaca puisi akibatnya siswa masih terlihat biasa saja seperti membaca teks. Penelitian ini termasuk penelitian kuantitatif quasi eksperimen. Instrmen yang digunakan yaitu tes dengan menggunakan performance test. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan dari hasil uji t pretes dapat diperoleh data berupa nilai signifikansi t-tabel sebesar 2,00 < t-hitung 0,93 dan dari hasil uji t postes dapat diperoleh data berupa nilai signifikansi t-tabel 2,00 > t-hitung 12,32. Hal itu berarti bahwa probabilitas < 0,05. Sehingga H0 ditolak dan H1 diterima. Maka dengan demikian dapat dikatakan bahwa terdapat perbedaan keterampilan membaca puisi siswa pada kelas yang menggunakan strategi Directed Reading Activity dengan kelas yang menggunakan pengajaran dengan metode ceramah, hasil analisis antara strategi Directed Reading Activity (variabel X) terhadap keterampilan membaca puisi siswa kelas VIII.    Kata Kunci : Strategi Pembelajaran, Directed Reading , Keterampilan Membaca Puisi

Abstract

The administration of Government, which aims to implement development and governance, can be carried out with the quality and capability of these administrators. This study aims to analyze the coordination of general government tasks, a case study on the sub-district head's coordination function in Lau District, Maros Regency. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. Data collection techniques in this study were interviews, questionnaires, and observations. Data analysis was carried out by collecting data obtained through respondents, then grouped by type and data source. The data is tabulated in tabular form, which is then analyzed descriptively qualitatively. The results of the study show that the analysis of the coordination of general government tasks in Lau District, Maros Regency can be categorized as quite good because of the 30 respondents, 43.91% who said they were good were 42.24%, and those who said they were not serviceable were as much as 13.83%. The coordination carried out by the sub-district head should be carried out with meetings and supervision from superiors so that the executors feel more appreciated and cared for. Besides, subordinates' ability and quality can be improved so that leaders can find out about problems that exist in their work area.

Abstract

Tongue twisters have been explored by some researchers to increase the students’ speaking ability. The researcher has an opportunity to research significant effectiveness difference between tongue twisters strategy and direct interaction strategy to increase students’ speaking accuracy (pronunciation) and fluency (content). A quasi-experimental design is employed with two classes of the eight graders of SMP Muhammadiyah 12 Perumnas Makassar selected purposively as the sample. The data is obtained through a pre-test and a post-test. The findings are analyzed using statistically using independent t-test procedure. Based on the post-test calculation the value of t-test is higher than the value of t-table, 2,04 < 3,03. According to the result, the alternative hypothesis is not rejected. It can be concluded that there is a significant effectiveness difference between students' ability to speak English who are taught by using tongue twisters strategy and those who are guided by using direct interaction strategy on post-test of speaking accuracy and fluency. Tongue twisters strategy is more effective in increasing the students’ speaking ability on speaking accuracy and fluency than direct interaction strategy. Based on students’ speaking products, it can be show that students understand the role of speaking. The students’ speech sound is more natural.

Abstract

Religious counselor is the government spearhead in regional agency, the occurrence of conflict, terrorism, radicalism and blaming each other, thus technological developments make the community contaminated with these developments. This paper aims to describe the role of instructors to attempt these problems. Radical threats nowadays are widespread in Indonesian society, which is carried out by groups of radicalism, fundamentalism, extremists and others. Radicalism act always causing unpleasant, can also cause widespread conflict, even lead to a series of acts of terror, bombing in several areas. This kind of violence must be prevented as early as possible.

Abstract

This study aims to (1) find out the development of the Ma'nene 'ritual for the Toraja people and (2) to know the symbolic meaning contained in the Ma'nene' ritual. Ma'nene 'is a tradition of the ancestors of the Toraja people, namely the procession of changing ancestral clothes. This research is a qualitative descriptive research. Research informants are determined by non-probability sampling. Primary data is carried out through observation and interviews with parties related to the research and secondary data is carried out through library research by reviewing some literature which is closely related to the issues to be discussed. The data that has been collected is then presented in the form of realism narrative and analyzed qualitatively. The results showed that (1) the development of Ma'nene 'rituals that are still being carried out in the Toraja area until now has experienced many changes when compared to the Ma'nene' rituals that were carried out in the past. This is inseparable from the influence of the new religion adopted by the local community at this time which then replaced the previous religion, namely Aluk Todolo. (2) the meaning of Ma'nene 'for the Toraja people is through the ritual of caring for ancestral corpses carried out in this ritual, which is reflected in an attitude of continuing to love, respect and honor ancestral services. Abstract

The problem of satisfaction and trust in marketing strategies is important to pay attention to the foster commitment that leads to customer loyalty which will then generate added value for the banking company itself. With customers' full trust and satisfaction from the customers themselves, of course, PT. Bank BNI Namlea Branch will be favored by customers. Through the background above, what is the problem formulation of this research is how is the effect of satisfaction on the commitment of the Bank BNI (Persero) TBK customers. Namlea branch. The location of this research is located at Bank BNI (Persero) Namlea branch which is located at JL. Ahmad Yani Namlea, Buru Regency, next to the left of the PD Cantik shop, and on the right is my father's restaurant. While the author's research time to get the data needed is 2 (two) months, from January to February. The population in this study were customers who used savings at the Bank BNI Namlea branch, Buru Regency. This population is heterogeneous which can be seen from the diversity of age, sex, and education. Data collection was carried out by field research methods (field research) with data collection techniques namely questionnaires, interviews, and literature study. The type of data in this research is qualitative data analysis and quantitative data analysis. The results show that based on the results of the analysis of the distribution of respondents' answers, Bank Negara Indonesia must always improve the quality of the goods/services provided, where the Bank BNI Namlea branch must continue to strive to fulfill expectations and conformity to customer needs so that customer satisfaction is created. It is suggested that PT. Bank BNI Namlea branch is providing the best service through product quality, improved facilities such as parking lots and waiting rooms. Banks must be responsive in serving customers who will make transactions so that they don't feel bored while waiting/queuing to make transactions. Keywords: Satisfaction, Customer, Bank BNI Namlea

Abstract

Literature is a branch of art. About society, literature is a mirror of life that can take advantage of the values ​​that exist in society. This study aims to describe the Language Style in the Piano Novel in Agnes Jessica's Glass Box. The method in this research is descriptive qualitative. Qualitative research is carried out by not prioritizing numbers, but prioritizing the depth of appreciation of the interaction between the concepts being studied empirically in this novel, providing an understanding of course in analyzing literary works with the approach used is a pragmatic approach considering the implications of readers through their various competencies. By considering indicators of literary works and readers, the problems that can be solved through a pragmatic approach, including the various responses of certain communities to a literary work, either as an explicit or implicit reader, both in a synchronic and diachronic framework. The results showed that the language style in the novel Piano in the Glass Box by Agnes Jessica is very varied and creative. Agnes Jessicas' novel Piano in a Glass Box totals 377 pages. The total frequency of using Language Styles is 98 units. In this novel Piano di Kotak Kaca by Agnes Jessicain, there are four groups of language styles, namely comparative language styles, namely parable, metaphor, personification, and antithesis, contradictory language styles, namely hyperbole, litotes, irony, oxymoron, and zeugma.

Abstract

                The purpose of this study is to see what the legal consequences are for the late hospital BPJS patients that cause death and whether there are factors that can affect the handling of BPJS participant patients by the hospital. This research includes normative law or doctrinal legal studies, library research or document studies—the Dean of the Law (statute approach), and the conceptual system (conceptual approach). Meanwhile, the abstract approach (conceptual approach) departs from the views and doctrines in the science of law to see which should be implemented or applied with the handling of BPJS participants by the hospital that causes death. The results showed that 1. Following the legal basis of Article 32 letter q of Law no. 44 of 2009 concerning Hospitals, reads: "Every patient has the right: to sue and/or sue the Hospital system. The hospital is suspected of providing services that do not comply with standards, both civil and criminal; In polite terms, the patient can file a lawsuit in court or through a dispute settlement agency against the hospital whose actions have harmed the patient so that the legal consequence of the hospital is the late arrival of the BPJS patient which causes death. In the form of verbal warning; Written warning; or fines and revocation of hospital license. And or take a criminal route by reporting the hospital's head and/or its health workers to the authorities. 2. In-hospital handling services for BPJS participants information by various factors, including; The level of competence of the hospital apparatus, the quality of the equipment used in the hospital, the organizational culture, the lack of knowledge of BPJS participants about procedures and patients in health care services

Abstract

This study aims to determine the form of hoax language on social media. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method designed to gather information about temporary situations. Sources of data used and presented regarding hoax news are taken from links to the anti-hoax forum www.turnbackhoax.id and www.hoaxbuster.id; virtual discussion forum from the page www.facebook.com/IndoHoaxBuster; www.facebook.com/groups/FAFHH; as well as some screenshots from the author's personal collection. Data collection techniques in this study used observation, documentation, and related previous research that contained hoax elements. Data analysis in this study used qualitative analysis. The results showed that the tendency of hoax language contained in social media was marked by: a) evocative titles, b) excessive use of punctuation, c) imperative words, and d) non-standard language. These linguistic signs can be used as parameters to detect information that is included in fact or fake news.
