Abstract

LKPD are one of the learning materials that can be used in the learning process. Buffer solution LKPD based on guided discovery learning with three levels chemistry representation. The type of this research was Research and Development (R and D) with the 4D development model. 4-D models that consist of four steps: define, design, develop, and disseminate. The research was limited on develop step. The research instrument that used questionnaire in the form of validity and practicality sheet. The LKPD was validated by three UNP chemistry lectures and two chemistry teachers of SMAN 5 Padang. The LKPD was practicalited by two chemistry teachers and 28 students XII MIPA 1 of SMAN 5 Padang. Data were analyzed by Cohen Kappa formula. The result of validity test showed that the LKPD had a very high validity category (k = 0,86). Practicality test result showed that the LKPD has very high practicality category (k = 0,80 dan k = 0,82). The LKPD was valid and practical.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the validity and practicality categories of the modules that have been produced. This type of research is classified as a Plomp model which has three stages, preliminary research, prototype formation and assessment. The instruments used were validation and practicality sheets in the form of questionnaire sheets. The products produced were tested by 5 validators consisting of 2 chemistry majors at FMIPA UNP and 3 teachers from MAN 2 Pesisir Selatan and practicality tests conducted by 2 chemistry teachers and 30 students of class XI MIPA MAN 2 Pesisir Selatan. Based on the validation results obtained kappa moment value (k) of 0.87, then the practicality of the teacher and practicality of students obtained an average value of kappa moments (k) of 0.85 and 0.91. The value obtained shows that the module produced is very valid and practical.

Abstract

This research aim to develop a guided discovery learning based chemical bonding module for grade X SMA and determine the level of validity and practicality. The type of this research was Research and Development using Plomp model. Plomp model consist of three stages, 1) preliminary research; 2) prototyping stage and 3) assessment stage. The validity test of this module was done by two chemistry lecturers at FMIPA UNP, two chemistry teachers at SMAN 3 Padang Panjang and a chemistry teacher at SMAN 4 Pariaman. Practicality test was done by two chemistry teachers at SMAN 3 Padang Panjang and 27 students XI MIPA 1 of SMAN 3 Padang Panjang using. Validity instrument and practical questionnaires was analysed by Cohen Kappa (k) Formula. The results of the analysis of the validity with an average score of the kappa moment 0.91 which is very high category of validity. The results of practicality by teacher and students show that the average score in a row is 0.95 and 0.87 which is very high practicality category. The data obtained show that guided discovery learning based chemical bonding module for grade X SMA produced is valid and practice.

Abstract

This chemistry literacy assessment instrument developed because of recent challenge toward student learning achievement evaluation so it could not only grade student’s cognitive ability in term of understanding and memorizing, but also will grade the application of students’ concept to face any problems. The availability of the chemistry literacy assessment instrument consists of various aspects, such as content, context, High Order Learning Skills (HOLS), and attitude. These aspects are expected to answer those challenges. This study aims to produce a proper and right chemistry literacy assessment toward fundamental law of chemistry and stoichiometry topic based on content validity value and questions numbers, reliability grade, difficulty level and chemistry literacy question differentiator level. This study is the development type, which is Model of Educational Reconstruction (MER) design. The clarification of a test instrument on empirical study was done toward three chemistry and education experts (lecturer and teacher). The instrument used was chemistry literacy question which consists of seven discourse question, then expanded into 15 questions. The result showed that content validity value of the designed chemistry literacy assessment could be categorized as valid.

Abstract

This research aims to produce instruments for measure chemical literacy assessment in senior high school with theme the reaction rate. This chemical literacy assessment designed by MER (Model of Educational Reconstruction). MER consists of 3 components are (1) analysis of science content, (2) study empiric, (3) construction assessment chemistry literacy. This research is limited to the study empiric.  The validity of the chemical literacy assessment content carried out by 2 chemistry lecturers from FMIPA UNP and 1 chemistry teacher in Padang. The content validity instruments analysed using the Aiken V. The analysis shows that 9 of 13 questions in category “valid”, 4 questions in category “moderate”. Overall analysis results the validity of content designed “valid” with a value of 0.85.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the lack of student participation in doing the exercises and the ineffectiveness of individual training because they are not competitive. This study aims to reveal the effectiveness of the use of chemo-edutainment-based ludo chemical (CET) games on the Colloid System material on the learning outcomes of class XI students of SMAN 3 Pariaman. The type of research used was a quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent control group design. The population in this study were students of class XI MIPA SMAN 3 Pariaman. The research sample was taken using a purposive sampling technique so that the XI MIPA 1 class was selected as the experimental class and XI MIPA 2 class as the control class. Research data includes learning outcomes from the cognitive domain. The research instrument is a test of learning outcomes in the form of multiple choice questions that have been tested. The data analysis technique used was the two average similarity test (t-test) to determine the differences in learning outcomes and the N-Gain test to determine the increase in student understanding. The results showed an increase in understanding of learning outcomes that were better in the experimental class than in the control class. This is evidenced by the average posttest value of the experimental and control classes of 84.33 and 78.78 respectively and supported by hypothesis testing carried out by the t-test, namely count (2.607) bigger than t1-alpha (1.67) at the level of reality alpha = 0.05 with dk = 70 and opportunities t0.95. This is also evidenced by the average experimental class N-Gain test of 0.77 with a high category and a control class of 0.67 with a moderate category. Thus it can be concluded that the use of media is an effective game of ludo chemical chemo-edutainment (CET) with a high category in improving the learning outcomes of class XI students of SMAN 3 Pariaman.

Abstract

This study aims to produce a module ion equilibrium and pH of salt solution and how to categorise module validity and practicality levels. As this is Research and Development study, we used Plomp model consisting three stages, preliminary research, prototyping stage and assessment phase. Guided inquiry is a learning model used in this study. This module is validated by 5 validators with a research instrument in validation and practicality sheet in the form of questionnaires. The validator’s evaluation of each statement was analysed using Kappa Cohen formula. The results show kappa moment value (κ) 0.85 with a very high category. The kappa moment value (κ) for practicality of module based on teacher’s response is 0.88, while student’s response is 0.81. The resulting module is very valid and practical to use.

Abstract

The Curriculum 2013 requires teacher to carry out teaching-learning process using the scientific approach, so that it can encourage students to be more active individually or in groups. The Colloid system is a chemical material that is studied in the XI class of high school even semester. This study aims to produce a colloidal system module guided inquiry-based equipped with HOTS questions, and to develop a valid module. The type of research used is Research and Development (R and D). The development model used is the Plomp development model which consists of 3 stages that are preliminary research, prototype stage and assesment. The instrument of data collection used is the instrument of validity. The research data was analyzed using the Cohen Kappa formula. The module was validated by 5 validators.The results of the questionnaire analysis of validity by the validator were 0.90 with a very high validity category.

Abstract

Alkanale and alkanone are parts of the carbon compounds taught on the second semester of 3rd grade Senior High School. But the implementation was compressed in the first semester and consequently, learning process isn’t optimal. The purposes of this research are to develop a Problem Based Learning Student Worksheet and determine its validity and practicality. This research using 4-D models; define, design, and develop but disseminate stage isn’t done. Used instruments are validity and practicality questionnaire given to chemistry lecturers at FMIPA UNP, chemistry teachers and students at SMAN 2 Bukittinggi. The result was analysed by Kappa Cohen Formula. Based on the result, validity and teacher’s practicality of developed worksheet gain a very high category with each 0,83 and 0,92 point of kappa moment, and student’s practicality obtain 0,75 point of kappa moment, which is a high practicality category.
