Abstract

Culture and Mathematics cannot be separated. One of Buton's cultures, namely the Kangaru Traditional Dance, cannot be separated from Mathematics. In this dance, contains mathematical concepts in it. The problem is that most Butonese people do not know that a local culture such as the Kangaru Traditional Dance contains mathematical concepts. The purpose of this study was to determine the philosophical meaning of set and geometry in the traditional dance of Kangaru, Wakalambe Village and Boneatiro. This research is a qualitative exploratory research. Where this type of research aims to determine the meaning of each element in the Kangaru Traditional Dance. Data collection techniques in this study used techniques to find reliable sources in the network and used interview techniques for informants or sources online (via telephone). Testing the validity of the data in this study using source triangulation with cross-check technique. The results showed that there was a philosophical meaning that presented the elements of the Kangaru Traditional Dance in sets and geometry. The results of this research will be published through scientific seminars and journals with ISSN as well as obtaining IPR with the hope that the community can transform it into a spirit of mathematics in everyday life.

Abstract

The problem formulation in this study is: (1) How to apply the Make A Match cooperative learning model to improve math learning achievement “Mathematics Measurement Materials” in students Class VI Elementary School 45 Buton ? (2) How to improve achievement of learning “Mathematics Measurement Materials” using cooperative learning model type Make A Match in students Class VI Elementary School 45 Buton ?". In accordance with the type of research chosen, namely action research, this study uses a research model from Kemmis and Taggart that is in the form of a spiral from one cycle to the next. Each cycle includes planning, action, observation, and reflection.The next step in the next cycle is revised planning, action, observation and reflection. Before entering cycle I, a preliminary action is carried out in the form of problem identification. From the results of the research conducted obtained the results that the completion of learning cycle I (54%), cycle II (74%) and cycle III (94%). The conclusion in this study is (1) The application of cooperative learning model type Make A Match can improve achievement of learning “Mathematics Measurement Material” In students. Improved achievement of learning “Mathematics Measurement Materials” using cooperative learning model type Make A Match in students Class VI Elementary School 45 Buton ? cycle I (54%), cycle II (74%) and cycle III (94%).

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out the errors made by students in solving mathematical problem solving problems in linear programming material. The method in this research is descriptive analysis. This research was carried out at SMA Negeri 2 Lasalimu Selatan, Lasalimu Selatan District, Buton Regency with the population of this research being all students of class XI MIA SMA Negeri 2 Lasalimu Selatan, totaling 40 students using a descriptive method whose main concern was the results of students' mathematics tests on linear programming material. Based on the results of the answers of class XI MIA students at SMA Negeri 2 Lasalimu Selatan which have been analyzed by researchers, it can be seen that the errors made by 20 respondents in 5 question numbers are 8 conceptual errors with a percentage of about 8%, principle errors as many as 35 with a percentage of approx. 35%, and operating errors of 35 with a percentage of about 35%. Respondents made a conceptual error because they did not understand the meaning of the problem in translating into mathematical sentences. Respondents made a principle error because they did not understand the rules or formulas to be used. Respondents made operational errors because they made mistakes in algebraic or arithmetical work. Therefore, it is necessary to pay attention to subject teachers so that students' understanding of understanding concepts, principles, and operations, especially linear programming material, needs to be improved by re-explaining problems that are not understood by these students.

Abstract

This reseach aimed to determine the effect of teacher performance on student learning responsibilities in learning Mathematics in VIII grade of SMP Negeri 1 Siompu Barat. This reseach was a quantitative research with Ex-Post Facto method. Data collection using questionnaires and documentation. The data analysis techiques used prerequesite test, with simple correlation and regression analysis. Hypothesis testing technique using regression analysis. Based of the results of data analysis and simple regression astimates, techer performance assessment (X) on learning responsibility (Y) produced a significance value of  0.018 < 0.05. So that there was an effect of techer performance (independent  variable) on learning responsibility (bound variable). SPSS output results also produced  was 0.123. This showed  that the magnitude of the in fluence of teacher performance on learning responsibilities was as much as 12.3%. According to the equation of the formulation of the simple regression analysis was Y = 133.339 + 0.136X, it coult be seen that the teacher performance variable at the 1% level was better, the student’s learning responsibity would increasi by 0.316. Thus, based on the hypothetical decision that the hypothetical desicion taht coult be responsibilities in learning mathematics VIII grade of SMP Negeri 1 Siompu Barat.

Abstract

Objective of this research was to analysis and to describe the level of difficulty of the test made by the teacher in the field of Mathematics subject according to the Classical Test Theory at the Junior High School level in Baubau City. Type of this research was quantitative research with descriptive method. The research was carried out at 7 (seven) State Junior High Schools in Baubau City, with the research subjects being the entire multiple choice test package made by the teacher for the Final Semester Examination (UAS) even in the field of Mathematics for class VIII students in the 2020/2021 academic year. The data in this research were collected using documentation technigues. Based on the results of the research and discussion, it could be concluded that the level of difficulty of the UAS test questions for the 2020/2021 academic year made by teacher in the filed of Mathematics subject according to the classical test theory at 7 (seven) public Junior High Schools in Baubau City, namely SMP Negeri 2 Baubau there were 37,5% categories very difficult, 5% in the difficult category, and 57,5% in the medium category, with an average of 0,287. SMP Negeri 4 Baubau had 15% difficult category, 80% medium category, and 5% easy category, with an average of 0,458. SMP Negeri 6 Baubau had 65% difficult category and 35% medium category with an average of 0,283. SMP Negeri 8 Baubau there were 48% difficult category and 52% medium category, with an average of 0,269. SMP Negeri 10 Baubau had 50% difficult category and 50% medium category, with an average of 0,341. SMP Negeri 16 Baubau had 6,7% very difficult category, 60% difficult category, and 33,3% moderate category, with an average of 0,283. SMP Negeri 18 Baubau contained 14,3% in the difficult category, 14,3% in the medium category, and 71,4% in the easy category, with an average of 0,703.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of group assignments on mathematics learning achievement in seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 8 Buton. This research is a quantitative research with a quasi-experimental method (quasi-experimental) carried out at SMP Negeri 8 Buton Tengah. The population in this study was class VII which consisted of 2 classes. The sample in this study were students of class VIIA as the experimental class and students of class VIIB as the control class, totaling 37 students. The instrument used in this research is a test of learning outcomes and documentation of learning outcomes. The results of the descriptive analysis were obtained: (1) the average initial test data for the experimental class mathematics learning achievement was 38.61, the final test data average for the experimental class mathematics learning achievement was 82.78 and the experimental class mathematics learning achievement increased 44.17 . (2) based on the results of hypothesis testing, it can be seen that tcount = 5.333 with df = 34 and significant (2-tailed) = 0.000 <0.05, so it can be concluded that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. So it was concluded that the use of the group assignment method had an effect on mathematics learning achievement in class VII students of SMP Negeri 8 Buton Tengah.

Abstract

The formulation of the problem in this study was how the mistakes of VIII grade students of SMP Negeri 3 Buton Tengah in solving math problems in terms of mathematical communication skills on number pattern material. The purpose of this study was to find out how the mistakes of VIII grade students of SMP Negeri 3 Buton Tengah in solving math problems in terms of students' mathematical communication skills. This study was a qualitative research with a descriptive approach, where the number of research subjects were all students of class VIII A and class VIII B SMP Negeri 3 Buton Tengah. The instruments used in the form of tests, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques used were data reduction, data presentation, data verification and examination of conclusions. Based on the results of this study using tests and interviews, it could be seen the types of errors made by students in the number pattern material based on their mathematical communication skills, namely: data errors, conceptual errors, operating errors, and errors not answering questions. The causes of student errors include: students were often wrong in entering data, students found it difficult to determine and used formulas, lack of accuracy in counting, and students were confused about what method to use to solve problems. Therefore, given alternative solutions after the first diagnostic test, after being given alternative solutions there was an increase in students' understanding and solving math problems on number pattern material based on their mathematical communication skills. So that, it could be concluded that there was a difference between test I and test II which had been given alternative solutions.

Abstract

This research was a quantitative research by using experimental method with the research design were pretest-post test control grup design. Population in this research were all seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 8 Baubau in academic year 2021/2022. This research aimed to see the effectiveness of Missouri Mathematics Project (MMP) learning model in improving Mathematics learning achievement of seventh grade students in SMP Negeri 8 Baubau. Sample is this research was taken by using simple random sampling technique, namely class VIIA experimental class and VIIB as control class. The data collection in this research used an essay test, by using data analysis technique, they were descriptive analysis and inferential analysis. The result of inferential analysis by observing the normality test, there was a significant value of students’ Mathematics learning achievement in the experimental class 0,2 and the control class 0,079. While homogeneity test showed that the value of students’ achievement in the class was 0,178 . So that, it could be concluded that the two classes were normality distributie and homogeneus. The by using the t-test, it was known that tcount = 10,230 and significant at = 0,000<0,05, thus H0 was rejected. So that, Missouri Mathematics Project (MMP) learning model was effective in improving students’ achievement.

Abstract

Problem statement of the research was whether cooperative learning model of Jigsaw type was effective viewed from students’ learning motivation in Math at VII grade of SMP Negeri 5 Batauga. The objective of the research was to know the effectiveness of cooperative learning model of Jigsaw type viewed from students’ learning motivation in Math at VII grade of SMP Negeri 5 Batauga. This research was a quantitative research. The research using quasi experimental design. Population of the research was all students of VII grade of SMP Negeri 5 Batauga in odd semester, academic year 2021/2022. There were two classes with the total number of student was 39 students. Sample of the research was all students, which were class VII A as experimental class which taught using Cooperative Learning model of Jigsaw type, and class B as a control class which taught using reguler learning model. Instrument of the research was a questionnaire. Data analysis techniques in this research used descriptive and inferential analysis. The result of the research showed that based on descriptive analysis, it was found that mean score of students’ motivation from experimental class and control class were 18,85 and 10,74. Based on inferential analysis, it could be seen that data was normal and homogeny. Learning motivation data was tested using independent sample test analysis. The result showed that students learning motivation which taught using cooperative learning model of Jigsaw type was in sig. 0.004˂0.05, it meant that H0 was rejected. From this result, it could be concluded that cooperative learning of Jigsaw type was effective viewed from studens’ learning motivation in Math at VII grade of SMP Negeri 5 Batauga.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out the influence of problem solving learning methods on students' math learning achievement on fractional material in class V of SD Negri Palea. This research is a quantitative quasi experimental study, by applying Nonequivalent Control Group Design The population in this study was all students of class V SD Negeri Palea in the 2021/2022 school year which amounted to 30 students consisting of 2 classes that were simultaneously used as samples using saturated sampling techniques. The research instruments used are tests and questionnaires. The results of this study obtained that based on the results of descriptive analysis the average value of pretest of the results of mathematics study of experimental class students amounted to 34.66; The average postest grade of experimental grade students' math learning results was 62.33. The average pretest grade of students' math learning outcomes in the control class was 29.00; The average postest grade of student learning outcomes in the control class was 45.33. In addition, the average score of the questionnaire in the experimental class was 53.53; The average score in the control class was 48.66. Based on the results of inferential statistical tests using the t-test obtained a significant value of 0.000 < 0.05, which means H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted. So it can be concluded that there is an influence of problem solving learning methods on the achievement of learning mathematics students on fractional material in class V of SD Negeri Palea.
