Socrates was one of the most famous philosophers throughout the history of philosophy. In this article, we will explain how the teachings of Socrates are related to the teachings of Hinduism which basically includes (1) tattwa; (2) ethics; (3) ritual / ceremony. Besides that, the core of the Socratic teachings is about ethics, namely glory or virtue, wisdom (wiweka) and leadership, to achieve the highest goal of human life, namely to make his soul as good as possible or happiness (eudaimonia) through the path of knowledge. The leadership he teaches cannot be separated from ethics. Socrates disagreed with the election of the leader with the most votes despite succeeding in building the economy but in his opinion the leader must be able to make his country in good condition. So that it can be said what was thought of Socrates in line with the teachings of Hinduism.

Abstract

Cosmology is the science of the creation of the universe. Hindu cosmology is different from the common Cosmology studied by Western scientists, Hindu cosmology deliberately and consciously placing God as the beginning, middle, and end of cosmic existence, whereas Cosmology in general (the West) is not very important to locate and engage God, or if any, then God is only placed in a position that is not too central, and also only as the end to cover the impasse and confusion of his mind. Hindu cosmology explains that the universe is maintained over a period of time before it is melted. At the beginning of every cycle of the creation of the universe, Brahma-the first cosmic creature created. In the teachings of Sa?khya-Yoga states the existence of 25 elements in the process of creation, namely 5 Panca karmendriya, 5 PancaBudhindriya, 5 Panca Maha Bhuta, 5 Panca Tan Matra, Budhi, Ahamkara, Manah, citta, andkala. Hindu cosmology sees the creation of the universe or the cosmos beginning with God.From within the body or the content of God (hiranyah garbha) the universe is born, and theninto the womb of God (hence the garbha) also the universe will be restored. These 25 elementsalso reveal the process of creating bhuana alit or living organism one of the examples is human.

Abstract

Hindu ethics are good and bad rules of human actions that are based on Hindu teachings. Hindu ethics reveal how to get along, sit, walk, eat and drink, sleep and dress. There are standards that must be followed, as in the pattern of associating with all people regardless of ethnicity, race and religion. Humans are essentially living creatures that describe the value of God into the natural environment and the activities they do. The activities of human or associating use the value of God as a basis for moving forward in order to become better. efforts that can be made by Hindus include keeping the mind with a noble common goal, speaking in order to support that goal, and making a serious effort to realize it. all efforts undertaken for the nobler public interest become a tangible manifestation of the brotherhood among the children of the nation. this common goal can only be realized if we are able to control the emotion and personal interests. Everything must be able to set forth in various opportunities to achieve life goals “Moksartam Jagathita ya ca iti Dharma”

Abstract

Perennial philosophy is a point of view in the philosophy of religion which believes that every religion in the world has a single and universal truth which is the basis of all religious knowledge and doctrine. Perennial philosophy is now one of the important philosophies, in order to understand the complexity of religions and their involvement in various humanitarian issues today, such as the crisis of spirituality due to all-out pressure of modernism, environmental crises, the desire to provide theoretical basis for religious plurality. the source of religious ethics can never be predicted for its meaning only through empirical, especially historical analysis, as was done by historians of religions so far, who interpret religion in a framework of suspicion of the interpretation of exercise of suspicion unless we want to make a reductionism run out - devotion to religion, which would certainly be rejected by believers. That is why a religious metaphysical framework is still needed, not only for a theological conceptualization, but more so for an ethical search with religions.
