Abstract

This study aims to determine how the management of teacher learning evaluation at SDN Lhoksukun. The method used is qualitative through a phenomenological approach. The results showed (1) the ability to create a conducive atmosphere is the demand for teacher professionalism in classroom management; (2) the ability of teachers to collaborate and discipline students through a series of technical activities such as picket, class discipline, attendance, and arrangement of changing student seats; (3) the existence of learning evaluation management makes it easy for SDN Lhoksukun teachers to find out the extent of the results of the teacher's performance. The intended results are good, not good, useful, or not useful and others. It is important to know the results of learning because it can be a guide for educators to find out the extent to which the learning process they are doing can develop the potential of students.

Abstract

This research aims to measure the level of educational institution readiness and literacy on information and communication technology in order to lead to smart madrasah. In this research, it is taken 25% from the 104 research population namely 24 people with different competences. Data collection techniques are questionnaire, observation and documentation. Then, it is analyzed using statistics, namely mean, deviation standard, TSR and percentage. Based on the analysis of research data results in Senior High School Al Izzah Batu, it has e-readiness towards information and communication technology with the level above the mean namely 94.1 % as well as it has already had e-readiness overall to be a school leading to smart madrasah, and Senior High School Al Izzah Batu has very high e-literacy towards information and communication technology namely by 99.4 %to be a school leading to smart madrasah.

Abstract

Increasing public awareness as a system is a fundamental aspect of building effective schools. The research was conducted at SMK Negeri 1 Merangin using a qualitative design with a phenomenological approach. This article aims to determine the dynamics of schools as a system in forming excellent schools referring to the culture and empowerment of students that last a lifetime. With the implementation of the organizational system implementation at SMK Negeri 1 Merangin, it was hoped that it would present a solution in building a sound organizational system in educational institutions. The research focus consists of (1) the principal in running the organizational system, (2) achievement of school goals, and (3) factors that cause errors in the implementation of organizational systems.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the Strategic Management of Higher Education in Increasing the Effectiveness of PTKIS management in Jambi Province, to reveal the strategies carried out by PTKIS managers and to formulate, implement and evaluate strategies in increasing the effectiveness of PTKIS in Jambi Province. The results showed that the strategic planning of PTKIS in Jambi Province in increasing effectiveness was constrained by several factors as follows: Manager's lack of understanding in implementing strategic management, communication between managers and subordinates is not aligned, strategic goals are not aligned with the actions taken, ideas and innovations are not supported by plans precise, and passive management, as well as manager motivation that only targets personal gain rather than common goals. To overcome the above problems, universities should implement the following actions: be close to stakeholders to understand needs, give autonomy to employees so that they foster an entrepreneurial spirit, managers are actively involved and employees know what the organization wants and have a flexible and simple organizational structure.

Abstract

The curriculum reform became part of the improvement of the education system in Indonesia. The study describes the principal's role in implementation of the 2013 curriculum (K-13) in SMAN 4 of Lhokseumawe City. The framing of curriculum and the theory of professionalism to investigate the impact of principal professionalism in the implementation process. Research is of a descriptive qualitative type with phenomenological analysis. Data was collected from the results of interviews against principals, teachers and some randomly selected pupils. The results of the study showed that implementation of K-13 provides autonomy to teachers in curriculum development. The 2013 curriculum demanded an active role thus becoming a stimulus in improving teacher professionalism. K-13 has the potential to form a professional and competitive teacher character. Whereas the principal's role among others became a teacher's participation mediator in curriculum training; the principal became a supervisor; the principal became a participator in regular meetings. The factor that the principal faces consists of a lack of means of K-13-based learning support infrastructure; a lack of student participation in the learning process at the school. The expected implication, for theoretical constructs of research results to be the subject of decision-making considerations in terms of increased quality of education through the curriculum k-13.

Abstract

This article is aimed to describe the communication behavior of school principals in managing and driving teachers to improve their work performance. Communication between the school principal and teachers can happen in the form of giving instruction, delivering information or news, conveying advices, and performing evaluation toward their work performance. The study was performed as a library research within a qualitative approach. Data was collected by reading numerous relevant literature associating with this topic. Result of study indicated that the communication behavior of school principal in improving teachers’ work performance can be categorized effective if it functions as the following: 1) communication as instruction to improve teachers’ work performance (instructive), 2) communication as information to improve teachers’ work performance (informative), 3) communication as advices to improve teachers’ work performance (influencing), 4) communication as evaluation to improve teachers’ work performance (evaluative). The result of this study can be recommended to school principals, supervisors, and educational stakeholders in order to continuously habituate good communication behavior in the attempts to improve teachers’ work performance.

Abstract

The implementation of the Sevima Academic Information System aims to improve the quality of academic services at the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training, IAIN Lhokseumawe. This research aims to determine the mechanism for implementing web-based educational management information systems in improving the quality of academic services and supporting and inhibiting factors. The research method used is a qualitative method with a descriptive-analytical approach. The research subjects are lecturers, students, academic staff of the Tarbiyah Faculty and Teacher Training Center IAIN Lhokseumawe. The study results are (1) the implementation of the SEVIMA educational management information system mechanism using information and communication technology (ICT) devices in all administrative and educational activities. They can be accessed and accepted by all academic service users; (2) The supporting factor in the implementation of SEVIMA IAIN is a reduction in operational costs in managing academic data such as ink, paper, printing, and other equipment; being able to adapt to academic needs; being integrated with one another; and web-based networks, minimal maintenance costs. Making it very more accessible for users to use the educational management information system (SIM Akademik). As for the inhibiting factor in web-based educational information systems in improving academic quality in the FTIK IAIN Lhokseumawe environment, human resources still lack personnel and abilities, facilities, and infrastructure are not optimal.
