Abstract

Gambir (Uncaria gambir. Roxb) contains flavonoids, tannins, saponins and alkaloids that can help heal wounds. One of the main ingredients that gambir contains is catechins . Catechins are flavonoid compounds with anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and antibacterial properties derived from Gambir. This study aimed to compare wound healing time between ethanolic extracts of 70% gambir resin gel (Uncaria gambir. Roxb) with betadin preparations in male Sprague dawley rats (Rattus norvegicus). A total of 9 white rats (Rattus norvegicus) strain Sprague dawley were divided into 3 groups, a negative control group for gel base treatment and a positive control group for gambir sap gel preparations (Uncaria gambir. Roxb) betadine comparison group. This study was conducted by experimental method with a post-trial controlled group design. Each group is colored with group preparations, the treatment is carried out 3 × 1 every day. Wound healing time was analyzed by a one-way Anova test on spss. Healing ingroup I was 10.6 days, in group II, 10.3 days in group III and 9.3 days.

Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus can be treat with pharmacological therapy in the form of oral drug administration. This step has side effects in the form of adverse drug reactions. ADR adapts various factors that can influence the patient to adverse reactions.The purpose of this study was to determine the percentage of incidence of ADR in outpatients with type II diabetes mellitus. This research method is a literature study method searched through PubMed, Google Scholar, and Research Gate using the keywords pharmacovigilance, diabetes mellitus, and adverse drug reaction (ADR). The criteria for articles used were publish in the last 10 years, namely 2012 to 2022, the journal has a title and content that is in accordance with the research objectives. The occurrence of ADR was influence by the gender and type of drug taken. This is in accordance with the research. Oral hypoglycemic drugs that were suspect to be the cause of the onset of ADRs are metformin causing nausea effects and acarbose causing flatulence effects. Abstract

Hands are one of the media for microbial growth, dirty hands become a breeding ground for microbes such as Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli or other bacteria. How to maintain hand hygiene is to wash your hands with soap or use an antiseptic (hand sanitizer). Antiseptic preparations are substances that have been widely used to inhibit the growth and kill microorganisms that exist around the body surface, for example on the palms of the hands that often come into contact with the surface of an object. One of the natural ingredients that has the potential to be developed as a hand antiseptic is telang flower (Clitoria ternatea). This research will formulate antiseptic gel preparations from telang flower extract, and how to test the physical quality of antiseptic gel preparations from telang flower extract. The method used for the extraction process here uses the maceration method, to maintain the antimicrobial compounds contained in the telang flower, followed by testing the physical characteristics and quality of the telang flower gel preparation, including, Organoleptic Test, pH test, Viscosity test, Homogeneity test, Spreadability test, adhesion test. After testing the characteristics and physical quality of the gel preparations of telang flower extract, the results were quite optimal, namely with a pH value in the range of 4.26-4.41 according to skin pH, and for viscosity at a value of 64% - 33%, in accordance with the characteristics of a good gel. Telang flower extract can be made and formulated as an antiseptic hand gel preparation. Variations in the concentration of the extract used greatly affect the characteristics of the gel preparation, starting from pH, viscosity, adhesion, and dispersion. The higher the concentration of the extract used, the lower the viscosity value, and the lower the pH value. The pH value and viscosity value for all formulas were in accordance with the skin parameter criteria, namely 3.5-6.5. Based on research conducted, Formula 3 using a concentration of 0.5 has. the most optimal gel preparation

Abstract

Abstract Turmeric and tamarind herbal medicine is one of the drinks with turmeric and tamarind as raw materials which is quite widely consumed by the community, either in liquid form or in powder form. Jamu turmeric acid can be used to prevent the negative effects of free radicals on the body because there are active antioxidant compounds, besides that it can be used as a natural antioxidant. There are many natural antioxidants in nature, one of which is in traditional medicine. The content of Jamu turmeric acid is curcuminoids where this compound is useful as an anti-inflammatory and antioxidant. This study aims to determine the antioxidant activity of instant turmeric powder drink produced by of UMKM Healthy Partners, Kiringan Bantul herbal tourism village, using the DPPH method (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl). The absorbance measurement to determine the antioxidant activity of each sample of turmeric tamarind powder was tested using a UV-Vis spectrophotometer at a maximum wavelength of 516 nm. Determination of antioxidant activity by the DPPH method is expressed by the IC50 (Inhibiton Concentration 50) value. The results showed that the antioxidant activity of the instant turmeric powder drink (Curcuma domestica val.-tamarindus indica l.) produced by Mitra Sehat SME in the Jamu Kiringan Tourism Village, Bantul, was included in the very weak category with an IC50 value of each sample successively. The participants were sample A of (276.005 ppm), sample B of (265.434 ppm), and sample C of (256.183 ppm). Abstract

ABSTRAK Wahyuni. Test the effectiveness of Chinese betel leaf ethanol extract ointment on excision wound healing in white rats (Supervised by: apt.Rika Puspita Sari, S.farm.,M.Si ) Wounds are physical injuries that can cause tears and damage to skin tissue. One type of the wound is an excision wound. An excision of wound caused by the cutting of tissue by a sharp object. The main goal in wound management is to achieve rapid healing with optimal fuction and good result. That can be achieved by preventing infection and trauma by providing an environtment that optimizes wound healing. One of the plants that have the potential to heal wounds is the Chinese betel plant that have the potential to heal wounds is the Chinese betel plant the purpose of the research to determine the effectiveness of giving Chinese betel leaf extract on excision wound healing in white rats(rattus norvegicus). The research was conducted in the laboratory of health the husada deli tua. The method of the research conducted out experimentally, the sample was extracted by the maceration method. And then the extract was formulated into ointment availability with concentrations of 2%,4%, and 8% furthermore, on evaluation of the availability of the ointment was carried out, by organoleptic test, homogeneity test, pH test and spreadability test. The result of the research for each group gave the best treatment experienced a decrease in the diameter of the cut wound was the positive control group (povidone iodine) and 8% concentration. Abstract

Background: Wounds are damage to part of body tissue or damage to tissue components, where there are damaged or missing tissue substances. Jackfruit leaves (Artocarpus heterophyllus Lam.) contain secondary metabolites, namely, flavonoids, saponins and tannins. Flavonoids function as antibacterial and reduce inflammation in wounds. Saponins to trigger the formation of collagen. While the tannins function as an antibacterial. Cherry leaves (Muntingia calabura L.) contain several active compounds such as flavonoids, saponins, and tannins. Compounds that function as anti-inflammatory are flavonoids. These compounds can accelerate wound healing because it has anti-inflammatory activity. Objective: to determine the concentration of the combination ointment of jackfruit leaf and cherry leaf ethanol extract in the form of an ointment that is most effective in healing open wounds. Method : Experimentally. Samples using jackfruit and cherry leaves were taken purposively, extracted by maceration using 96% ethanol as a solvent made in the form of a thick extract. Then the thick extract was made into an ointment with a ratio of 1:2, 2:1 and 2:2 as well as positive control (bacitracin ointment), negative control (ointment base). open wound for 14 days. Results: The results of the open wound healing study had the best effectiveness, namely bacitracin ointment (0 cm), a combination ointment of jackfruit leaf and cherry ethanol extract 2:2 (0.10 cm), 1:2 (0.25 cm) and 2 :1 (0.28 cm) then ointment base (0.55 cm). Conclusion : The preparation of ointment combination of jackfruit leaf ethanol extract and 2:2 cherry is more effective in the treatment of open wounds.

Abstract

Some diseases caused by microorganisms on the hands are diarrhea, diphteria, boils, typhus and others. The bacteria that most often contaminate the skin of the hands are Staphylococcus aureus and Escheria coli, whose spreas most often transmitted from hand to hand. Bunga lawing are one of the medicinal plants that have been used in medicine. The purpose of this study was determine the antibacterial activity of gel hand essential oil sanitizer gel preparation (Illiacium verum Hook.f) to the growth of Staphylococcus aureus and Escheria coli bacteria compared to sanitizer Dettol gel hand. This was carried out with the experimental method. Essential oil of bunga lawing is extracted using a heat method, namely soxhletation. The antibacterial activity test in this study used the agar diffusion method (disc diffusion). The measurement of the diameter of the inhibited area formed were analyzed using a one-way ANOVA statistical test. The results of antibacterial activity of bunga lawang sanitizer hand have lower antibacterial activity gel hand sanitizer Dettol. In the diameter of Staphylococcus aureus bacteria the highest rate 0f hand flower sanitizer gel was 15,1 mm while the sanitizer gel hand wash 21,4 mm. In Escheria coli bacteria, the inhibitory diameter the sanitizer hand gel dettol was obtained at 20.1 mm, while the lawang hand sanitizer gel obtained the highest inhibition diameter of 13.1 mm. The results of data analysis using a one-way ANOVA statistical test showed a sig value p<0,05 so that there were significant differences between the gel hand to the inhibitory power of the growth of Staphylococcus aureus and Escheria coli bacteria.

Abstract

Tangerines (Citrus reticulata Blanco.) is one of the national superior types of oranges that contain lots of vitamin C. Vitamin C is the simplest vitamin and has an important role on the human body. So far the use of arrowroot is only on the fruit, while the peel is only a waste. The purpose of this study is to utilize tangerine peels into preparations that have a use value for the community, in the form of instant granules. The method used in the extraction of tangerine peel is maceration by making granules using the wet granulation method, and determination of vitamin C levels by quantitative methods, UV-Vis spectrophotometry method. After obtaining the vitamin C levels, then formulations are made in the form of instant granules and quality evaluations are carried out. The results showed that vitamin C content was 130 mg / 1250 mg extract and the formula was made with the best formula, Formula 1.

Abstract

Hiperlipidemaemia didalam tubuh ditandai dengan meningkatnya kadar kolesterol didalam darah. Dibutuhkan hambatan kompetitif terhadap HMG-CoA reduktase.Senyawa dari tanaman herbal bunga telang (Clitorea ternatea L.) berpotensi sebagai agen antihiperlipidaemia. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui potensi biji bunga telang (C. ternatea L.) sebagai agen antihiperlipidemia melalui studi in silico. Persiapan ligand dengan reseptor menggunakan software YASARA. Moleculer docking menggunakan software PLANTS. Visualisasi menggunakan LigPlus dan PyMol. Reseptor yang digunakan adalah struktur kristal HMG-CoA reduktase dengan kode PDB 1HW9 dan ligand kontrol simvastatin.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan senyawa phloretin, trifolin dan trigonelline yang diprediksi memberikan efek antihiperlidemia berdasarkan studi in silico karena memiliki interaksi masing-masing secara berurutan yaitu phloretin (-64,05), trifolin (-59,24) dan trigonelline (-52,76). Residu asam amino yang berperan dalam ikatan ligand dengan reseptor adalah Asp 767, Tyr 761, Ala 768, Asn 771, Glu 801, Gln 770, Ser 774, Met 655, Ile 802, Gln 766.

Abstract

Daun kelor adalah salah satu tumbuhan yang sudah dimanfaatkan masyarakat dalam pengobatan tradisional. Tumbuhan kelor banyak mengandung berbagai molekul penghambat radikal bebas, seperti aktivitas antioksidan. Pembuatan simplisia daun kelor dilakukan dengan pengeringan menggunakan oven pada suhu 400C dan sinar matahari langsung. Simplisia yang terbentuk dimaserasi dalam pelarut etanol 70%. Pengukuran aktivitas antioksidan ekstrak menggunakan metode DPPH dengan Spektrofotometer UV-Vis pada panjang gelombang 516,50 nm. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa daun kelor yang dikeringkan dengan oven pada suhu 40°C memiliki aktivitas antioksidan nilai IC50 67,75 ppm dengan kategori antioksidan kuat dan ikeringkan di bawah sinar matahari memiliki nilai IC50 122,34 ppm dengan kategori antioksidan sedang. Dari penelitian ini adalah aktivitas antioksidan ekstrak daun kelor dengan metode pengeringan oven lebih tinggi dari metode pengeringan sinar matahari langsung.
