Abstract

Madura cattle development is stagnant due to natural conditions, human resources and technology. The introduction of crossbreeding and insemination gains community resistance. There is an assumption that innovation will destroy local germ plasma. What should be done so that technical and social considerations can run synergic. This research to know the cattle in the cattle version and the interests of the community. The study was conducted by indepth interview to farmers group and agricultural extension Observations concerning what is desired and done breeders. If a Culinary Center out of business then it is feared that the street vendors will comeback to old locations and the city's problems to street vendors will happen again. For that we need to know the aspects that cool customers to the design Culinary center So that can be developed Culinary center arrangement is representative for the sustainability of business street vendors in it. The Aspects to be studied are aspects of form, space, outer space arrangement and supporting activities from several culinary centers in Surabaya. The research is qualitative research with Research and Development method. Data handling is done quantitatively. Research in the form of identification of design aspects that affect the sustainability of street vendor business in terms of user desires so that subsequently can be generated the development of culinary design center model by taking the object of study culinary center of Gunung Anyar, Surabaya, Indonesia.

Abstract

Bawang dayak or dayak onion (Eleutherine americana Merr) is an endemic plant from West Kalimantan. The bulb extract from dayak onion is known to be consumed as traditional medicine by dayak ethnic group. Dayak onion contained alkaloid, flavonoid, glycoside, saponin, and tannin that are very beneficial for health. This research aims to examine the effect of ethanol extract of dayak onion towards the cholesterol level and the triglyceride level in animal testing male mice (Mus musculus). This research uses completely randomized design with experimental laboratory methods by doing 5 treatments and 5 times replications. Mice are given mixed food consists of CP 511 concentrate and cow fat using 7:3 comparison for 10 days. Mice are also given treatment with the ethanol extract of dayak onion for 7 days with classifications of: negative control treatment, positive treatment, 50 mg/Kg BB, 100 mg/Kg BB, and 200 mg/Kg BB. The research result shows that the treatment of ethanol extract dayak onion has significant effect towards the decrease of triglyceride level in mice’s blood, but based on LSD test, the differentiation between each treatment is not significant. Based on the research result, ethanol extract of dayak onion according to the average result can indeed decrease the level of cholesterol, but the statistics test has not yet shown significant results

Abstract

Dichotomy distinguishes mountain communities and coastal communities resulting in their treatment and a different assessment of the society living in the mountainous region. Mountainous communities among Papuans have been stereotyped as a tough community, a source of conflict and a lagging society. This resulted in the mountainous community more difficult to be accepted by other communities when it comes out of its territory. This study would like to express how intercultural adaptation process Walesi Moslem mountains community in the City of Jayapura.Using the Theory of Intercultural Adaptation proposed by Kim stating that all individuals when entering a new cultural culture and unfamiliar then he will become a stranger and require the process of adaptation. This research is a qualitative research with the research subject is the Walesi Moslem mountain community that has been at least for five years living in the City of Jayapura. The results showed that the Walesi Moslem peoples when entering the city of Jayapura initially experienced difficulties because of the high bonds of brotherhood among them that tend to be closed to the society and other cultures. The interesting thing in this research is that the Muslim identity makes it easy for the Walesi Moslem peoples to be accepted by the immigrant and coastal communities in the City of Jayapura.

The researcher collect the data through observation, deep interview, and documentation study. The collected data is analyzed using descriptive qualitative model by Miles and Huberman that referring to inductive data analysis.Based on the analysis process, the result shows that preaching through social media is able to reach more pilgrims, even though they come from different places and has not met before. Another result is preaching through social media is also can build a strong enough relation between the lecturer and his/ her pilgrims. From this result, the researcher suggests to all lecturer to start using social media as preaching media.

Abstract

The study aimed to treat household grey water, focusing on technology that is simple and low cost in terms of operation and maintenance. The treatment was conducted within laboratory scale based using a series continuous reactor of anaerobic biofilter and wetland. The anaerobic biofilter was equipped with plastic derived from Poly Ethylene Terephthalate (PET) as biofilter media. Subsequent wetland used vertical sub-surface flow constructed wetland (VSSF CW). Removal efficiency of TSS, BOD, COD achieved from anaerobic biofilter was 84%, 79%, 57% respectively, while wetland resulted TSS, BOD, COD removal of 81%, 84% and 67% respectively.

Abstract

Water treatment in Indonesia still used coagulant to reduce contaminant. So that, needing pre-treatment before conventional water treatment, use infiltration gallery. Infiltration gallery is the one of natural technology for absorbing or filtration contaminant. The main role in filtration of contaminate in soil is conductivity hydraulic. There are many kind of soil type with different conductivity hydraulic. In infiltration gallery method we need to know conductivity hydraulic value as preliminary analysis. Because its ability is make movement water from one side to other side, while filtrate the contaminant. Slower conductivity, it is mean that the quality water will be good. The methods used is constant head each permeameter. The result we get, was soil type in same type have different conductivity hydraulic.
