Abstract

Archives are records that contain events and scientific knowledge. Archives are divided into two based on their function, namely dynamic archives and static archives. In its management, there are factors that can damage archives, so preventive preservation is needed so that archives can be used intact and for a long time. The Record Center as a place for managing inactive dynamic archives needs to carry out preventive preservation. This preventive preservation research uses descriptive qualitative methods with data collection methods in the form of observation, interviews, and literature study. Based on data obtained in the field, factors that can damage archives include physical, biological, and storage errors. To minimize the occurrence of damage caused by these factors, it is necessary to carry out camperization efforts, physical maintenance of archives, improvement of the quality of human resources, appropriate infrastructure, and adequate storage space.

Abstract

The library collections of the Mojokerto Regency Library and Archives Service consist of print and digital. The print collection consists of general collections, references, local culture and serial publications. Digital collections are e-books on the e-pusda application. The library collection development strategy of the Mojekerto Regency Library and Archives Service is divided into 5 stages, namely: user analysis, collection development policies, selection of library materials, procurement and weeding. User analysis based on the characteristics and information needs of users through forms distributed to users. The library does not yet have written technical guidelines for development of SOPs, POBs or technical guidelines and field instructions. The library selects the print collection and pays attention to the criteria in terms of content, title, year of publication and publisher. Libraries focus on two methods, namely purchases and grants. The criteria used in weeding and enumeration were only collections that were damaged and misplaced with a frequency of once a week. The feasibility of developing library collections is based on the SNP-district/city libraries contained in PERKAPERPUSNAS No. 08 of 2017 shows that four points in the national standard are not in accordance with what is happening in the field, namely the first, second, third, and fifth items in the field, while the fourth and fifth items are in accordance with what is happening in the field.

Abstract

Libraries, as educational institutions and information centers, are essential in providing efficient and quality services to their users. Librarians' performance is a crucial factor in achieving these goals. This study aims to optimize the performance of librarians to improve the efficiency and quality of library services. They use a qualitative approach with data collection through various sources, including documentation, interviews, and observations. The collected data is analyzed through three steps, namely data reduction, data presentation, then drawing data conclusions to identify factors that affect librarian performance and analyze the implications with the efficiency and quality of library services. The results showed that several factors can affect the performance of librarians. These factors include librarians' knowledge and skills, management support, use of information technology, collaboration between librarians, and work motivation. This research also identifies several strategies that can be applied to improve the performance of librarians, including training and development, improved communication, and cooperation between librarians. By optimizing librarian performance by implementing appropriate strategies, libraries can achieve higher operational efficiency and improve the quality of services provided to users. The results of this research can guide libraries in developing policies and programs to improve librarian performance and the efficiency and overall quality of library services.

Abstract

Traditional libraries adapt to changing times and play an increasingly important role in today's society. One of the innovations adopted by several libraries is Makerspace implementation. This study aims to analyze the role of the library as a center for creativity and innovation through a case study of Makerspace implementation. The literature review includes the concept of Makerspace, the role of libraries in creativity and innovation, and studies related to Makerspace implementation in libraries.he research method used is a case study approach with data collection through observation, interviews, and document analysis. The results of the description of the Makerspace implementation reveal the profile of the library that implements the Makerspace, the facilities and tools available, as well as the activities and programs held. Makerspace implementation analysis includes benefits and impacts in increasing creativity and innovation, challenges faced, and success factors. Through case studies on the successful implementation of Makerspaces, this research provides an overview of the program, community participation, and the results achieved. The conclusion of this study highlights the importance of libraries as centers of creativity and innovation through the implementation of Makerspaces. Implications and recommendations are presented to encourage other libraries to adopt creative and innovative approaches, such as Makerspaces. Although this research has limitations in terms of scope and time, it contributes to the development and evaluation of Makerspace implementation in libraries.
