Abstract

The effective mixing can be seen from the length of the stretching, the number of folding and the consumption of electric power required in the process. A suitable type of stirrer, a varying number of blades, can enrich the flow pattern created. This study aims to determine the effect of the number of mixing blades on the mixing pattern and the consumption of electric power in the vertical mixer. the number of blades varied (number of blades 4,6,8 pieces). The test material is given a dye, so that we can see the mixing pattern that occurs for electrical power consumption can be calculated with a digital multimeter. From the results of this study, we will be able to measure the length of the stretching and the number of folding produced in rounds 1-4. And will be compared with the required electric power consumption. The results showed that the more mixing blades used, the less power consumption required. The more blades used, the longer the stretching results. The more mixing blades used, the more folding can be produced..Keywords: mixing, stretching, folding, number of blades

Abstract

The helical Savonius is a vertical wind turbine that can utilize wind energy to become a renewable energy source. This study aims to determine the effect of the number of blades and the ratio of blade bends on the performance of the Savonius helical wind turbine. The research was conducted through experimentation using variations in the number of blades 2 and 3 blades. Variation of blade bending ratio H / L = 6/10, 7/10 and 8/10 and variations in wind speed (4.0), (5.2), (6.4) and (7.4) m / s. The turbine performance analysis is reviewed based on the shaft rotation (RPM) of the turbine and the output voltage (volts) generated by the generator connected to the turbine shaft. The results showed that the wind speed, the number of blades, and the blending ratio of the blades affect the performance of the Savonius helical wind turbine. The results of the maximum wind turbine performance test at a variation of 3 blades, a ratio of 6/10, and a wind speed of 7.4 m / s, produce a shaft rotation value of 472.9 rpm and a generator output voltage value of 5.51 volts. Abstract

Noise is something that can be annoying. A silencer is a tool to reduce unwanted sound. This study aims to obtain the matrix characteristics of the fiber arrangement pattern on sound attenuation and the ratio of the composite material mixture. The method used in this research is to vary the ratio of flinkote oil mixtures 70%: 30%, 60%: 40%, 50%: 50%, as well as variations in the matrix pattern of coconut fiber composition with parallel matrices, straight oblique cross, how to make composites with how to spray flinkote oil onto the fibers using a spray gun. The analysis of the research is the reduction of the sound produced. The ratio of the mixture and the matrix of the fiber arrangement pattern affects the resulting sound reduction value. The results showed that the flinkote oil mixture ratio of 60%: 40% resulted in the highest reduction value of 4.96%, for the lowest results found in the ratio of flinkote oil mixture 50%: 50% fiber with a noise reduction value of 4.24%. The results of the analysis show that the ideal mixture occurs in composites of 60%: 40%, so that the flinkote oil can bind the fibers sufficiently and the composites are porous, in the 50%: 50% composites there are strains because the flinkote oil is unable to bind the fibers. In the fiber arrangement pattern matrix, there is the highest noise reduction value in the parallel matrix, namely 4.96%, for the lowest result is in the straight-sloping matrix with a reduced value of 3.90%, the analysis results in the parallel matrix have good noise wave propagation, because In the parallel matrix there is no wave interference phenomenon, resulting in parallel propagation of noise waves, in the straight-sloping matrix there is an interaction phenomenon between incoming waves and waves called interference so that noise waves increase and result in a low noise reduction level.

Abstract

In development planning in the mechanical industry or civil engineering construction, it is very common to use the properties of the iron rod material which can deflect or what is known as a cantilever. The factors that affect the size of the force exerted on the stem are directly proportional to the amount of deflection that occurs. In other words, the greater the load experienced by the rod, the greater the deflection. Deflection of rods plays an important role, especially in building construction, wherein certain parts such as the shaft, deflection is very undesirable. Because of deflection, the work of the shaft or construction will be abnormal so that it can cause damage to the construction or other parts. This study aims to find out how much deflection of cantilevered rods using metal plate material when given a distributed and concentrated load. Based on the data obtained from the research process, the results in this study indicate that there is an effect of slackening distance on the iron plate with 3 variations in loading. The results showed that the loading rate affected changes in the angle of deflection of the iron plate in every variation of the number of plates used. The greatest effect occurred in the plate variation size of 0.8 mm with a loading level of 3 kg, namely 3.64 x 10-5 and the smallest effect on plate variations was 1.8 mm with a loading rate of 3 kg, which was 0. The results showed that the loading rate was spread across 3 plate variations. with a load of 3 kg spread over 3 points with a distance of 15 cm from point 1 to point 3. The biggest deflection effect occurs in plate variations of 0.8 mm which is 3.64x10-5 and the smallest effect on plate variations is 1.8 mm with the same load of 0.

Abstract

Biomechanics is the study of internal and external forces acting on the body of living things and the effects of these forces. The study of the motion of living things is carried out by applying theories and laws of motion. The forces acting on the human body organ systems in biomechanics include gravitational force, body reaction force and muscle force. These forces can be measured using a dynamometer. This study aims to design a load cell sensor-based dynamometer which is used as a mass sensor, applied to the design, then analyzed its accuracy for the study of the biomechanics of Bapang dancers. The design is based on the availability of research funds but refers to the Mettler Toledo weighing principle, where the floor scale is designed as a measuring base for the dancers to perform their dances. The area of this measuring base is predefined as 1.25 x 1.25 m. This has reduced the accuracy of the design results considering the ideal area for free dancing is 3 x 3 m. The design results have worked well and can record changes in the load during changes in dancer movements. The measured reading accuracy value reaches 98.36% but still includes measurement errors due to differences in the place and time of the calibration measurement, and differences in the clothes of the people who are the object of the load. The load reading display captures an average time delay of 0.468 seconds. It is recommended that the drawbacks of this design be corrected by designing a dancer's load measurement system using a load sensor that is shaped like a ballet shoe, but uses a wireless data transfer system so that the dancers can move freely. In addition, the shoe-shaped dynamometer design can definitively separate the load readings for the right and left feet.

Abstract

Jig is a fishing rod that is usually used to catch squid or cuttlefish in the form of fish, shrimp, or others. This study aims to determine the effect of differences in the shape of the surface of the jig on the flow pattern of freshwater fluids. The study used a variation of 3 jig surface shapes with the same length, namely 7 cm, 1 cm wide. The angle of inclination of the jig includes 15⁰ and 30⁰. The type of flow is laminar conditioned using a volume flow rate of 76.60 liters per second. The jig is conditioned to move up and down using an electric motor. The flow patterns formed were analyzed using visual tests and measurements using Kinovea 0.8.15. The results showed that the shape of the surface of the jig had an effect on the fluid flow pattern. The highest wave occurs at jigs 3 with 15⁰ variation with a wave crest of 4.55 cm, while for jigs 1, 30⁰ variation produces the lowest wave of 1.51 cm.
