Abstract

One of the competencies mathematics teachers need is the deepening of subject matter in mathematical concepts. Among the methods that can be done is through software training to support mathematics lessons. One of the software that can be used in learning mathematics is Scilab software. The use of Scilab software in mathematics learning cannot be separated from the role of the teacher. This service activity aims to carry out online training for Scilab software for learning mathematics. The method used is an online training and evaluation of activities by a questionnaire about knowledge and skills using Scilab software. This online training was carried out synchronously two times in the September 2020 period and was accompanied asynchronously through the Edmodo software. 68 teachers actively participate in this online training who are members of the Mathematics Subject Teachers' Consultation (MGMP) for Lebak Regency High School Mathematics and Nusantara Mathematics for Banten Region. The teacher's response to learning using the Scilab software depends on the teacher's initial ability to use the software. The result of this activity is that this online training can add insight to teachers about mathematics learning software, especially Scilab. Of the 68 participants who participated in the training, only 36 participants filled out the questionnaire. There is 8 person with excellent results, 9 people satisfied, 6 people extraordinary, 10 people enough, and 3 people low.

Abstract

Desa senyiur merupakan salah satu  daftar perdesaan  yang menjadi pusat perhatian pemerintah. Perdesaan tersebut membutuhkan pendampingan untuk mengelola potensi daerah mereka melihat banyaknya pengangguran. Faktor pendorong peningkatan Pengangguran karena tingginya angka kemiskinan yang menyebabkan banyak yang tidak menikmati bangku sekolah. Dampaknya para pengangguran tidak memiliki skill yang handal. Masyarakat pengangguran terdiri dari anak terlantar/putus sekolah dan ibu rumah tangga yang tidak memiliki hasil tetap . Salah satu pemecahan masalahnya adalah memberdayakan serabut kelapa menjadi  barang yang bernilai ekonomis, karena dapat membantu perekonomian masyarakat  pengangguran. Target luaran yang hendak dicapai adalah memberdayakan limbah  serabut  kelapa  menjadi POBUKE (Pot Bunga Kekinian) berbasis geometri. Geometri tersebut merupakan software geometri interaktif  untuk ketepatan dan simulasi penggunaan, agar mudah memanipulasi dan membuat objek-objek geometris, karena seni secara universal memiliki hubungan geometri yang begitu kompleks. Manfaat penelitian ini tidak lain membantu pemerintah mengurangi tingkat pengangguran serta terciptanya lapangan pekerjaan. Harapanya dapat menumbuh kembangkan jiwa enterpreuner masyarakat pengangguran. Produk ini juga dapat dijadikan sebagai media pembelajaran matematika. Metode dalam kegiatan ini adalah menggunakan metode demonstrasi, ceramah, diskusi, praktik dan obsevase. 1. Metode demonstrasi berbasis ceramah digunakan sebagai simulasi training atau kegiatan pelatihan. 2. Metode diskusi digunakan sebagai komunikasi dua arah yang bersifat terbuka antara para tim peneliti dan pemateri dengan para karyawan. 3. Metode praktik untuk mengimlplementasikan pengetahuan yang sudah didapatkan dari para tim peneliti dan pemateri yang professional dalam bidang kerajinan. 3. Metode observase sebagai evaluasi tingkat pemahaman masyarakat dalam mengimplementasikan simulasi yang sudah diberikan.

Abstract

Teachers are currently required to produce scientific works, especially writing scientific articles. The purpose of this community service is to improve teacher professionalism literacy in writing scientific articles. The method applied in community service activities is descriptive qualitative through training and mentoring activities intended for teachers of the Indonesian Language Senior High School Subject Teacher Consultation (MGMP) in Sukoharjo. The implementation method in community service is carried out through the following stages: 1) preparation (observations and action plans); 2) implementation; 3) evaluation and feedback; 4) assistance in compiling scientific articles. The results of this training include a positive response from the trainees and an increase in the skills of teachers in literacy in writing scientific articles. The final results showed that of the 30 participants who participated in the mentoring, there were ten manuscripts of scientific articles for Indonesian language teachers in Sukoharjo adapted to the scientific journal templates to be addressed. The journals targeted include Klitika Journal; Scientific Journal of Indonesian Language and Literature Education, Univet Bantara; Literature Journal; Journal of Language Education and Teaching Sebelas Maret University; TABASA Journal; Indonesian Language Tadris Scientific Journal IAIN Surakarta; and the Linguistic Journal; PGRI Madiun University. If a percentage of 33% of participants succeeded in submitting in achieving the goal of publishing in the desired scientific journal, as many as 45% succeeded in converting the PTK report into articles, the remaining 22% were still struggling with revisions of converting reports into articles. It can be concluded that, in total, 78% of the total number has shown maximum progress in the mentoring process.

Abstract

At the beginning of 2020, Indonesia faced the Covid-19 virus pandemic. As a result, changes occurred in all sectors, including the education sector. The change in the learning model from offline to online makes it difficult for Indonesian because they are not accustomed to using digital technology in the learning process. Therefore, this service activity aims to train 10 Dewi Sartika Palembang Kindergarten teachers using video conferencing applications (Google Meet) and screen recorders (AZ Screen Recorder) to support a more optimal learning process. This activity is carried out by implementing health protocols. Based on the results of the evaluation of the training activities, it was obtained that all teachers were able to use the Google Meet and AZ Screen Recorder applications and were able to make learning videos and use them in the learning process. However, many students cannot participate in the online learning process because of poor internet signals. This problem can be overcome by sending a video recording of the learning process.

Abstract

Online learning is a national policy as a strategic step to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 virus. The quality of the learning media used by lecturers is to influence the effectiveness of online learning. Therefore, training is needed to strengthen lecturers' skills in developing interactive media effective in online learning. This community service aims to improve the biology education lecturers' knowledge and skills regarding interactive media design in online learning. Participants of this activity were 27 Lecturers of Biology Education at FSTT Mandalika University of Education. The training activity is carried out in three stages, namely (1) Preparation, (2) Implementation, (3) Reflection / Evaluation. Training activities are held online / webinar on Saturday / 25 July 2020 at 07.00-12.00 WITA with a series of events, namely opening, remarks from the Head of the Biology Education Study Program, delivery of training materials, discussions, conveying impressions and messages. The training activities were carried out well, even though there were some shortcomings. This is supported by the participants' messages at the end of the activity, namely (1) 100% of the training participants gave positive responses such as feeling happy, enthusiastic, enthusiastic, and helped by the holding of this training activity; (2) 75% of participants gave suggestions so that similar training activities could be carried out periodically at the beginning of preparation for each semester. In the end, the participants have the knowledge and skills in designing interactive media in online learning

Abstract

Program PkM ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pengetahuan dalam mengidentifikasi zat aditif pada makanan dan kesadaran masyarakat terhadap pentingnya menjaga makanan, bisa berpartisipasi dalam upaya perbaikan diri dan cerdas memilih bahan pangan. Metode yang dipakai dalam pencapaian tujuan tersebut adalah penyuluhan dan demonstrasi yang melibatkan siswa sebagai khalayak sasaran dan subjek.  Demonstrasi dilakukan untuk melatih dan memberikan pemahaman kepada siswa dalam mengidentifikasi kandungan pengawet berbahaya dalam makanan. Luaran kegiatan ini berupa keterampilan menguji zat aditif pada makanan dan minuman; Artikel ilmiah (publikasi nasional). Hasil kegiatan yang telah dicapai antara lain kegiatan tersebut memberikan banyak manfaat bagi siswa dan guru disekolah mitra, memiliki keterampilan dalam mengidentifikasi atau menguji zat aditif pada makanan dan minuman yang dapat diaplikasikan serta dijadikan acuan dalam memilih makanan dan minuman yang sehat untuk dikonsumsi.

Abstract

Internet network security in a company is critical. Currently, the use of wireless devices as a local data traffic controller is very widely used. However, this tool is vulnerable to network security breaches if it is not accompanied by excellent security of the network system. PT. Taspen (Persero) Palembang has problems with the Wireless network and does not have an excellent security system. It causes users who are not employees to use the internet network at the company, making employee operations slow and vulnerable to burglary. Therefore, in this PKM activity, RADIUS Technology is applied as internal network security. Every user who wants to access the internet network at the company must first log in. This activity aims to train employees of PT. Taspen (Persero) Palembang to access a wifi network that uses RADIUS Technology. It starts from accessing the wifi network, logging in, to logging out of the wifi network. This activity is carried out online by utilizing the Zoom Meeting application. The results obtained indicate that the network system security of PT. Taspen (Persero) is increasing, and all of its employees can access a wifi network that has implemented RADIUS Technology

Abstract

The industrial 4.0 era requires an educator to increase competence or expertise in the use of information technology in education. The use of technology in education is extensive, including learning media and learning evaluation media. This goal is to develop the skills of SD Menteng Atas 01 teachers, especially in the IT field, and the ultimate goal of this community service activity is to encourage teachers to share learning media, especially smartphone media, in order to make learning evaluations. In the form of online crossword puzzles, especially during the pandemic, teaching and learning activities are now being carried out boldly. The service partners are all teachers at Menteng Atas Elementary School. Community service was held on April 13, 2020, at SDN Menteng Atas 01, followed by 15 participants online via zoom. The method used is demonstration and lecture. As a result of this community service activity, the teachers of SDN Menteng Atas 01 Setiabudi, South Jakarta, were able to create online crossword puzzles independently with a smartphone.

Abstract

Teachers are at the forefront of school, and students' development must have various competencies, namely pedagogical, personal, social, and professional competencies. In professional competence, educators must take advantage of information and communication technology to communicate and develop themselves. This community service activity aims to support the educator in gaining professional competence. Significantly to improve Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers' professional competence and encourage the realization of good learning, especially in making questions and materials that require Arabic Al-Qur'an components in it. Thirty-five religious teachers from 34 Elementary School Education units, both public and private, who are members of the KKGPAI (Islamic Religious Education Teachers Working Group) throughout the Setiabudi sub-district attended this training. The training method uses lectures and demonstrations or direct practice. The community service team's task is to help teachers who initially do not understand and cannot make Arabian font or language with computers. Therefore, through in-teacher training,  the educator can make PAI questions and written works in Arabic using computers. As the results of community service activities in general, religious teachers who are members of the KKPAI of Setiabudi district have made PAI questions in Arabic using a computer application

Abstract

In addition to studying in formal schools, children can also study in non-formal schools, such as taking courses to understand a lesson. However, to be able to take the course certainly costs a lot. The symptoms found were that some students came from underprivileged families. Found it difficult to divide their study time with their busy lives at the orphanage, lacked interest in learning English, and did not have English language manuals other than textbooks from school. This service activity aims to improve students' English through courses at the Dayang Dermah Bengkalis Orphanage. The method used in this service activity is through fun courses in games, singing, and short conversations. The result of this service is that students' English skills have increased with this course, as evidenced by the increase in students' average English scores from 78 on the initial test to 87 on the final test. It can be concluded that using the course method is an effective way to Improving Students' English at Dayang Dermah Bengkalis Orphanage.
