Abstract

This program was carried out in the Indonesia-Malaysia border area, precisely in Jagoi Babang District, Gersik Village. The purpose of holding this service is to attract the interest of elementary school students, especially in border areas in learning science. The method used in this program was in the form of scientific demonstrations using household materials (daily utensils and food ingredients) by official team to 22 elementary students at State Elementary School 04 PAUM, Paum Hamlet, Gersik Village, Jagoi Babang District, Bengkayang Regency. The projects that were demonstrated included: 1) Anti-shatter magic balloons, 2) Anti-nail magic balloons, 3) Magic Plastics, 4) Automatic balloon blowers, 5) The bending rays and, 6) Magic Glass. The results of the program shown that the students’ interest of science at State Elementary School 04 PAUM were quite positive where 90% (20 students) gave positive statements about the activity, students 5% (1 student) did not give a response, and 5% (1 student) gave a negative response to the activity of this program sequences. These results provide an early description that science lessons for elementary school age children are quite requested if they are delivered using interesting methods

Abstract

Currently, there are many organic fertilizers sold in the market, but it is no less important that housewives farmers can make their own, in order to take advantage of the waste that is around their household. The purpose of this activity is that household waste that exists in each household can be used as a useful material for crops that are planted in their gardens or in their yard. This activity is a collaboration between the faculty and independent farmers engaged in organic vegetable entrepreneurship which will be carried out in September 2021, which was followed by women farmers who were in Sungai Rengas village, Kubu Raya Regency. The method used in this activity consisted of lectures and demonstrations, as well as evaluation. The results of this activity were very enthusiastic, because all this time they considered that the waste in the household was only waste or garbage. The results of the evaluation that the fertilizer made by the women were very good, which was shown by after being applied to the flower cabbage plant.

Abstract

In supporting the success of online learning, it is necessary to increase the creativity of educators in developing and using learning media applications. The purpose of this research is to provide training and assistance to lecturers, teachers and prospective teacher students in making Windows and Android-based learning applications. The structured training program is carried out in collaboration between lecturers from the Teacher Training and Education Faculty and partner teams from the Permata Bunda Educational Institution through the Kedaireka Matching Fund program. The training was carried out in a hybrid manner with details of 10 participants participating offline and 60 participants participating online. The training was carried out for one day by dividing into 3 types of activities, namely the introduction of learning applications, direct practice of making learning applications and as a closing activity a questionnaire was given as an evaluation of the success of the activity. Based on the evaluation results obtained information that 14.26% of participants have been able to develop learning applications up to the publication stage, 71.43% of participants have been able to develop learning application content and 10% of participants are able to complete the learning media framework design stage, while 4 ,26% are still at the stage of program installation. In addition, at the end of the activity, participants also filled out a satisfaction questionnaire with the ongoing training activities. Based on the response analysis of participants' satisfaction above 85% which is included in the very good category. This shows that participants are very satisfied with the training they have received

Abstract

Along with the times, food has also experienced a significant development. Starting from a variety of processed foods, which can be served in various new forms and variations. During the growth period, children usually prefer snacks as snacks compared to eating healthy foods such as vegetables and fruits. Snacks that are developing today contain more colorful foods and contain harmful substances. The purpose of this socialization is so that children pay more attention to the snacks they consume. The method used is the first survey, the second choosing the location of service, the third collection of materials/materials, the fourth preparation of the material, the fifth meeting with the school wedding, the sixth implementation of the activity, the seventh documentation and the eighth activity reporting. The results obtained are that the implementation of the service carried out in Gersik Village, Jagoi Babang District, Bengkayang Regency went well and ran smoothly, which can be seen from the enthusiasm of the children when participating in the activities and indications that students have experienced an increased understanding of healthy snacks.

Abstract

Community service is one of the main duties of a lecturer. The activity with the theme "Developing Community Creativity by Using Surrounding Natural Products" was carried out in Songga Village, Menyuke District, Landak Regency, West Kalimantan. The purpose of this activity is to provide motivation and knowledge to the local community regarding creativity in utilizing the natural products that are around them in the form of handicrafts. Through training activities, the community got new experience and knowledge about business opportunities that have a selling value which are able to increase income if then the handicrafts are sold to the market or to souvenir shops. Therefore, participants who took part in the training also gain awareness to hone their skills in making handicrafts made from Sake’ (pandan duri), Sake’ Mansio (Nipah leaves / palm leaves), bamboo, and Banar stems (rattan).

Abstract

Pertumbuhan ekonomi di Indonesia menunjukkan kontraksi yang cukup tajam dengan adanya pandemi COVID-19. Salah satu cara untuk meningkatkan kondisi perekonomian adalah dengan penciptaan sejumlah wirausahawan baru di berbagai lapisan masyarakat, di antaranya para aparat pemerintahan Kelurahan Bitung Karangria di Kota Manado dan mahasiswa/mahasiswi Fakultas Keperawatan Universitas Katolik De La Salle Manado. Untuk itu, perlu adanya suatu kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat, dalam hal ini dalam bentuk penyuluhan, yang dapat menumbuhkan motivasi berwirausaha. Penyuluhan ini difokuskan pada memberikan pengetahuan tentang motivasi dan dampak ekonomi bagi keluarga dan masyarakat sekitar.  Pada kegiatan ini, tim pelaksana memaparkan keuntungan dan risiko berwirausaha serta mengenai penggunaan media sosial sebagai media promosi serta pentingnya kesetaraan gender dan pemberdayaan perempuan dalam dunia kewirausahaan. Mahasiswa juga diberikan kesempatan untuk mempresentasikan rencana usaha yang telah mereka lakukan dan berdiskusi dengan peserta yang lain untuk menentukan berbagai langkah kerjasama dan pengembangan produk. Dari pengisian kuesioner terlihat bahwa tiga motivasi ekonomi yang paling dominan adalah untuk mencukupi kebutuhan keluarga, menabung demi masa depan, dan kemandirian finansial.

Abstract

This service activity aims to increase the understanding and knowledge of lecturers about the use of gamification in learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. In addition, this program also provides socialization of what game models can be used to support e-learning lectures on campus, for example using learning applications such as Quiziz and Kahoot or by implementing game learning models such as role playing, NGT and others. The specific target to be achieved is to increase the creativity of lecturers in designing and using gamification in learning during the Covid-19 pandemic so that online learning becomes more fun. The method used in the implementation of this service is in the form of counseling methods, and question and answer.

Abstract

Sejegi Village, Mempawah Timur District, Mempawah Regency, West Kalimantan is an area with a fairly large peat area, so it is very difficult for people to get clean water sources. On the other hand, PDAM can not fulfill the community's clean water needs, so the people of Sejegi village generally rely on rainwater as a source of clean water. For this reason, water purification training was carried out for the people of Sejegi Village, Mempawah Regency. The purpose of this activity is to improve the skills of the people of Sejegi Village in purifying peat water so that they get clean water that is suitable for household use, as well as to overcome community difficulties in obtaining clean water sources during the dry season. The training was carried out using a lecture method and demonstration of making a mini water treatment installation using large buckets and cans of used paint, fibers, gravel, whiting, alum and PAC. The training was attended by 30 residents of the Sejegi Village community. The results of the training showed that the community's understanding of the importance of clean water increased after being given the training. In addition, skills in designing water purification with simple materials are also starting to appear. This training is expected to help the Sejegi Village community in solving problems with clean water sources that are suitable for use.

Abstract

Kegiatan pelatihan ini dilaksanakan dengan tujuan untuk meningkatkan wawasan dan pengetahuan masyarakat dalam pembuatan nugget ikan Toman yang memungkinkan untuk diproduksi massal sebagai sarana wirausaha. Masyarakat dilatih dalam pembuatan nugget berbahan dasar ikan Toman sebagai upaya pemanfaatan hasil sumber daya alam masyarakat daerah perbatasan di desa Kumba Kecamatan Jagoi Babang Kabupaten Bengkayang. Metode yang digunakan adalah sosialisasi, pelatihan, dan pendampingan secara langsung berupa praktik pembuatan nugget ikan Toman sekaligus diberi motivasi agar memiliki jiwa entrepreneurship. Hasil dari kegiatan pelatihan ini adalah masyarakat mendapatkan pengetahuan baru dalam memanfaatkan ikan Toman untuk diolah menjadi nugget, terlibat langsung dan terampil dalam pembuatan nugget, serta termotivasi untuk mengembangkannya menjadi sebuah wirausaha. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini diharapkan dapat membuat masyarakat semakin peka terhadap potensi alam yang ada di lingkungan sekitarnya dan dapat mengoptimalkan pengolahannya untuk meningkatkan perekonomian masyarakat setempat.

Abstract

The activity of dedication of society is carried out with the aim of increasing teachers’ understanding towards writing scientific papers and motivating teachers to be active in writing scientific papers. This activity will be held on September 2, 2021, at SMA Negeri 2 Sungai Raya, Kubu Raya Regency. The method used in the implementation of this PkM is assistance in writing scientific papers and creating an account on the Publications page of OJS. There are various steps in implementing this PkM, that are: 1) an initial survey, with the aim of obtaining information about teachers' understanding of scientific writing, 2) The team prepares a PkM implementation plan which includes determination of the activity of the schedules, the activity of locations, the activity of participants, and resource persons. In preparation for this PkM, the team also coordinates and collaborates with related schools in determining participants who will take part in training to increase teacher competence in writing scientific papers with mentoring methods. Based on the results of the implementation of this training, it was obtained information that this mentoring method was considered in accordance with the needs of the teachers, this training activity received a positive response by the teacher participants, after participating in the training the teachers could write a journal article.
