Abstract

ABSTRACT The activity was carried out to determine the health status of qurban animals and the worthiness of the qurban meat during eid al-Adha in Manokwari Regency through antemortem and postmortem examinations along with the application of health protocols during the Covid-19 pandemic. Six hundred fifty-six beef cattle were examined. The antemortem examination includes the observation of the general condition, eye mucosa, anus, and fecal matter. The liver and rumen were examined through direct observation (inspection) of the presence of worm parasites. Covid-19 health protocol observations were carried out on butchers, meat officers, and the facilities around the activity. The data were analyzed descriptively and presented in percentages and figures. The average Body Condition Score (BCS) of the cattle was 3 to 4. The locomotion and skin turgor was normal. In general, the examined meat was fit for consumption. The eye mucosa color in the examined cows was pink. The anus condition of all the cows examined is clean and the stool consistency is soft. A total of 106 livers (16.16%) had fasciolosis and 89 rumens (13.57%) were positively infested with Paramphistomum sp. Most of the slaughter places have implemented health protocols with body temperature checks, washing their hands when entering the slaughtering area and most of the workers have to wear a mask. Keywords: Qurban Animals; Heartworms; Covid-19 ABSTRAK Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui status kesehatan hewan kurban dan kelayakan daging kurban di Kabupaten Manokwari melalui pemeriksaan antemortem dan postmortem dan penerapan protokol kesehatan selama wabah covid-19. Hewan yang diperiksa adalah sapi dengan jumlah sebanyak 656 ekor. Pemeriksaan terdiri atas ante-mortem meliputi pemeriksaan keadaan umum, mukosa mata, anus dan feses dengan cara inspeksi dan pemeriksaan post-mortem, meliputi: hati dan rumen yang dilakukan dengan pengamatan langsung (inspeksi) keberadaan parasit cacing dalam organ periksa. Pengamatan protokol kesehatan covid-19 dilakukan pada: petugas jagal, petugas daging, petugas jeroan dan fasilitas disekitar kegiatan berlangsung. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif dan disajikan dalam persen dan gambar. Rerata Body Condition Score (BCS) sapi yang disembelih adalah 3 sampai 4. Lokomosi 100% dan turgor kulit normal. Secara umum daging yang diperiksa layak dikonsumsi. Rerata warna mukosa mata pada sapi yang diperiksa adalah merah muda. Keadaan anus dari seluruh sapi yang diperiksa adalah bersih dan konsistensi fesesnya lunak. Sebanyak 106 organ hati sapi (16,16%) yang diperiksa mengalami fasciolosis dan sebanyak 89 rumen (13,57%) positif terinfestasi Paramphistomum sp. Sebagian besar tempat penyembelihan telah melakukan protokol kesehatan berupa pemeriksaan suhu tubuh, wajib cuci tangan saat memasuki area penyembelihan dan sebagian besar petugas jagal, petugas daging dan petugas jeroan telah mengenakan masker. Abstract

ABSTRACT This activity is aimed to determine the process of making organic fertilizer from agricultural and cattle waste in Seppee Village, Barru District, Barru Regency, South Sulawesi Province. This activity was carried out in July with a demonstration method for the Sipakainge group totaling 25 people. The results showed that the members of the Sipakainge group were very active in making organic fertilizers by utilizing agricultural and cattle waste, therefore, it is necessary to evaluate the activities’ process. Keywords: Manufacturing process; agricultural waste; cow waste; organic fertilizer ABSTRAK Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk membuat proses pembuatan pupuk organik dari limbah pertanian dan limbah sapi di Desa Seppee, Kecamatan Barru, Kabupaten Barru, Propinsi Sulawesi Selatan. Kegiatan ini dilakukan pada bulan Juli dengan metode demonstrasi pada anggota kelompok Sipakainge berjumlah 25 orang. Bagian metode perlu ditambahkan penjelasan singkat pembuatan pupuk organic. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan anggota kelompok Sipakainge sangat aktif mengikuti pembuatan pupuk organik dengan memanfaatkan limbah pertanian dan limbah sapi sehingga perlu dilakukan evaluasi kegiatan pembuatan pupuk organik. Abstract

ABSTRACT Electricity is an important part of human life. The need for electrical energy increases directly proportional to the increase in population growth. Manokwari Regency as the capital of West Papua province continues to carry out the construction of offices, housing and other public facilities from year to year that require electrical energy. Electrical installation demands professionalism and standards in accordance with the general electrical installation regulations (PUIL). This community service activity aims to train people who cannot continue their education to a higher level due to limited costs. Participants are trained to be able to carry out installation, repair installations, and open their own jobs. Community service activities are carried out in the form of training with the lecture method regarding the introduction of electrical installation tools and materials, installation practices and electrical installation wiring diagrams according to PUIL standards and direct practice in the laboratory of the Electrical engineering department of the Engineering Faculty, University of Papua. Keywords: Training; Lighting Installation, Society, PUIL. ABSTRAK Listrik merupakan bagian penting dalam kehidupan manusia. Kebutuhan energi listrik meningkat berbanding lurus dengan peningkatan pertumbuhan penduduk. Kabupaten Manokwari sebagai ibukota provinsi Papua Barat terus melaksanakan pembangunan perkantoran, perumahan dan fasilitas publik lainnya di dari tahun ke tahun yang membutuhkan energi listrik. Pemasangan instalasi listrik menuntut profesionalisme dan standar yang sesuai dengan peraturan umum instalasi listrik (PUIL). Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk melatih masyarakat yang tidak bisa melanjutkan pendidikan ke jenjang lebih tinggi oleh karena keterbatasan biaya. Peserta dilatih agar dapat melakukan pemasangan, perbaikan instalasi, dan membuka lapangan kerja sendiri. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat (PKM) dilaksanakan dalam bentuk pelatihan dengan metode ceramah mengenai pengenalan alat dan bahan instalasi listrik, praktik pemasangan dan diagram pengawatan instalasi listrik sesuai standar PUIL serta praktik langsung di laboratorium jurusan teknik Elektro Fakultas teknik Universitas Papua. Abstract

ABSTRACT The Arfak Mountains Natural Reserve (CAPA), which is located in the Bird's Head Peninsula region of West Papua, Indonesia, covered an area of about 45,000 km2. The area is located within the three different administrative areas, including Manokwari, Manokwari Selatan, and Pegunungan Arfak Regencies. Ukopti Village is located in the District Tanah Rubuh Manokwari District which is a buffer zone directly adjacent to The Nature Reserve Area Mountains Arfak (CAPA). The economic circumstances village community is marginal and underprivileged, with their main livelihood obtained from their mostly small farms. The farms' result is often uncertain so they depend on other alternatives such as wildlife, especially deer hunting. Based on the decision of the Minister of Forestry and Plantation No: 682/Kps-II/1988 on the establishment of the Timor deer (Cervus timorensis) for game hunting in Papua, the deer has the potential to improve the community's nutrition and economy when compared to a better-off society, which usually has access to conventional livestock. Most of the community groups normally sell their catch in the form of fresh deer meat and bacon, so oftentimes the quality of the products are lower because they are not sold quickly enough and the distance to the district town is quite far, the expensive cost of transport only exacerbates the problem. The training lasted for eight months and was held at Kampung Ukopti Land District Rubuh Manokwari District. Two groups acted as partners or the target groups of this activity, they are the hunters and deer-butchers groups. The activities of this training include lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on participation. Results of the practice of making deer-jerky had been adopted by the community/partners who have received the training, as shown by the products produced according to the example given to the participants. This activity is highly appreciated by the people of Kampung Ukopti, indicated by the presence of local officers and most of the people during the activity. Wilayah tersebut terletak di tiga wilayah administratif yang berbeda yaitu Kabupaten Manokwari, Manokwari Selatan dan Pegunungan Arfak. Kampung Ukopti terletak di Distrik Tanah Rubuh Kabupaten Manokwari yang merupakan daerah penyangga (buffer zone) yang berbatasan langsung dengan kawasan Cagar Alam Pegunungan Arfak (CAPA). Keadaan ekonomi masyarakat desa yang marjinal dan kurang mampu yang diperoleh dari kebun yang tidak menentu sehingga alternatif lainnya bergantung pada satwa liar, khususnya berburu rusa. Berdasarkan Keputusan Menteri Kehutanan dan Perkebunan Nomor: 682 / Kps-II / 1988 tentang Penetapan Rusa timor (Cervus timorensis) untuk pemburuan di Papua, Rusa timor merupakan salah satu spesies yang berpotensi untuk meningkatkan gizi dan gizi. Masyarakat ekonomi jauh akan mengakses ternak konvensional. Kelompok masyarakat yang selama ini hanya menjual hasil tangkapannya berupa daging rusa segar dan bacon seringkali kualitas mangsanya mudah rusak karena tidak laku dan jarak ke kota kabupaten cukup jauh serta sisi angkutan yang cukup mahal. Kegiatan ini berlangsung selama delapan bulan bertempat di Kampung Ukopti Tanah Distrik Rubuh Kabupaten Manokwari. Dua kelompok yang dijadikan mitra atau kelompok sasaran kegiatan tersebut adalah kelompok berburu dan menyembelih rusa. Tahapan dari kegiatan ini meliputi ceramah, demonstrasi dan peserta langsung mempraktekan pembuatan dendeng. Hasil praktek pembuatan dendeng harus diadopsi oleh masyarakat / mitra yang sudah mendapatkan pelatihan, terlihat dari produk yang dihasilkan sesuai contoh yang diberikan peserta. Kegiatan ini mendapat apresiasi yang tinggi dari masyarakat Kampung Ukopti yang ditunjukkan dengan kehadiran petugas dan sebagian besar masyarakat selama kegiatan berlangsung. Abstract

ABSTRACT The biogas program implemented in Jandurau Village has an impact on the community. The community began to renovate the old cattle sheds in the village of Jandurau and herded wild cattle from the forest to be kept in said sheds. The construction of the sheds involved the Jandurau community by utilizing equipment and materials owned by the community along with assistance from Bank Indonesia (BI) West Papua. A supervising team from the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, University of Papua assisted to ensure the activity went smoothly. Keywords: Cage, Biogas, Jandurau village, Cattle ABSTRAK Program biogas yang dilaksanakan di Kampung Jandurau memberi dampak kepada masyarakat. Masyarakat mulai melakukan renovasi kandang lama yang ada di kampung Jandurau, selain itu masyarakat mulai mengumpulkan ternak-ternak sapi yang awalnya diliarkan di hutan untuk di kandangkan. Pembangunan kandang melibatkan masyarakat Jandurau dengan memanfaatkan peralatan dan bahan yang dimiliki oleh masyarakat dan juga bantuan dari Bank Indonesia (BI) Papua Barat. Abstract

ABSTRACT Bentok Kampung Village is one of the villages in Bati–Bati District, Tanah Laut Regency, which possessed a considerabke amount of duck population. The villagers who are members of the Ruhuy Rahayu PKK do not know much about innovations in processing duck salted eggs. This activity aims to introduce innovation in preserving duck eggs with the addition of spices. This activity started with theoretical training with classroom methods and hands-on practice carried out by partners under the guidance of the activity promotor team. The enthusiasm of the participants is was quite good which was reflected in the high number of participants and their punctuality of attendance. The attendance level of participants in both the counseling and brainstorming activities reached 90–100% of all PKK members. The roasted salted duck eggs with spices produced have a distinctive taste compared to the ones which were just boiled. The roasted spiced salted roasted egg has a less wet texture and is preferred because it tastes more savory and can last longer because of the reduced water content. Conclusion: participants managed to understand well the entire series of activities and the participation rate of participants was very good with a nearly 100% attendance rate. Keywords: Processing, Roasted spiced salted eggs, Bentok Kampung Village ABSTRAK Desa Bentok Kampung merupakan salah satu desa yang ada di Kecamatan Bati–Bati Kabupaten Tanah Laut dengan populasi itik yang tinggi. Masyarakat Desa Bentok Kampung yang tergabung dalam PKK Ruhuy Rahayu belum banyak mengetahui inovasi dalam pengolahan telur asin itik. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meperkenalkan inovasi pengawetan telur itik dengan penambahan bahan rempah. Kegiatan ini diawali pelatihan teoritis dengan metode kelas dan praktek langsung yang dilaksakanakan oleh mitra dengan bimbingan tim pengusul kegiatan. Antusisme peserta cukup baik yang tercermin dari jumlah dan ketepatan waktu kehadiran yang tinggi. Kehadiran peserta dalam kegiatan penyuluhan dan curah pendapat mencapai 90–100 % dari seluruh anggota PKK. Telur asin itik rempah panggang yang dihasilkan memiliki cita rasa yang khas dibandingkan dengan yang hanya direbus. Telur asin itik rempah panggang memiliki tekstur tidak terlalu basah dan lebih disukai karena rasanya yang lebih gurih dan bisa lebih tahan lama karena adanya pengurangan kadar airnya. Kesimpulan: peserta berhasil memahami dengan baik seluruh rangkaian kegiatan dan tingkat partisipasi peserta sangat baik dengan tingkat kehadiran berkisar 100%. Abstract

ABSTRACT RT 04 Sematang Borang Village has utilized a biogas installation to process cow manure into both solid and liquid organic fertilizer and also produce biogas. The biogas fermentation process and organic fertilizer processing experienced problems due to the grass within the cow manure entering the digester, which was caused by a leak in the digester cover and the low quality of organic fertilizer produced in the outlet tub. This community service activity aims to treat waste raw materials so that the fermentation process can take place optimally. The presence of animal feed or grass in the inlet tub will interfere with the fermentation process and cause the digester lid to leak. In the implementation of this community service program, the focus is on improving the digester and adding tools to aid the process of separating cow dung raw materials so that the fermentation process can be optimized. The biogas formation process requires an airtight, oxygen-free, or anaerobic (closed) space. Treatment is done by separating cow manure raw materials from feed grass by using a filter to produce good raw materials in the biogas fermentation process. So that cow manure that enters the digester can be fermented optimally. Keywords: Biogas; Digester; Fermentation; Cow Manure ABSTRAK RT 04 Kelurahan Sematang Borang, sudah menggunakan instalasi biogas yang gunanya untuk mengolah kotoran ternak sapi menjadi pupuk organik padat dan cair serta juga menghasilkan biogas. Proses fermentasi biogas dan pengolahan pupuk organik ini mengalami kendala yang disebabkan rumput kotoran sapi yang masuk ke dalam digester yang disebabkan oleh bocornya tutup digester serta belum maksimalnya kualitas pupuk organik yang dihasilkan pada bak outlet rendah. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk melakukan treatment pada bahan baku limbah sehingga proses fermentasi dapat berlangsung optimal. Adanya pakan ternak atau rumput di dalam bak inlet akan mengganggu proses fermentasi dan menyebabkan tutup digester bocor. Pada kegiatan pelaksanaan program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini difokuskan pada perbaikan digester dan penambahan alat untuk proses pemisahan bahan baku kotoran sapi agar proses fermentasi lebih maksimal. Proses pembentukan biogas membutuhkan ruang yang kedap udara, tanpa oksigen atau anaerob (tertutup). Perlakuan pengolahan (treatment) dengan pemisahan bahan baku kotoran sapi dengan rumput pakan dengan menggunakan alat penyaring untuk menghasilkan bahan baku yang baik pada proses fermentasi biogas. Sehingga kotoran sapi yang masuk ke dalam digester dapat difermentasi secara maksimal. Kata kunci: Biogas; Digester; Fermentasi; Kotoran Sapi

Abstract

ABSTRACT Wau-Weyaf Beach is the nesting ground of six species of turtles, including the world's largest turtle, the leatherback turtle (Dermochelys coriacea). The University of Papua (UNIPA) Manokwari, since 2009 has been directly involved in the turtle nesting area protection program by involving the students of UNIPA through the Community Service Program (KKN). In 2016, students carried out the KKN Program starting from June 30th to August 16th in Kampung Wau-Weyaf, one of the leatherback turtles’ egg-laying locations in Abun. This paper is a part of the Community Service Program which is carried out in the said village. The activities conducted during the KKN include both formal and non-formal education, religious education, and environmental education. Education-based KKN directly helps to improve public awareness which, in turn, supports the efforts to protect and save the leatherback turtles (Dermochelys coriacea) on the coast of Abun, Tambrau. The same approach is also able to improve the calistung (the capability to read, write, and count) ability of school children along with their awareness to maintain the cleanliness of their homes, school, and village environment. Keywords: Education; Conservation; Turtle; Wau-Weyaf ABSTRAK Pantai Wau-Weyaf merupakan tempat bertelur bagi 6 jenis penyu, termasuk penyu terbesar di dunia, Penyu Belimbing (Dermochelys coriacea). Universitas Papua (UNIPA) Manokwari, sejak tahun 2009 telah terlibat secara langsung dalam program perlindungan kawasan peneluran penyu ini melalui pelibatan mahasiswa melalui program Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN). Pada tahun 2016, mahasiswa Universitas Papua (UNIPA) melaksanakan program KKN yang dilaksanakan antara tanggal 30 Juni sampai dengan 16 Agustus 2016 di Kampung Wau-Weyaf. Tulisan ini merupakan bagian dari pelaksanaan kegiatan KKN yang dilaksanakan di kampung Wau-Weyaf sebagai salah satu lokasi peneluran telur penyu belimbing di Abun. Kegiatan yang dilakukan meliputi pendidikan formal dan non-formal, pendidikan agama, dan pendidikan lingkungan. KKN berbasis pendidikan yang dilakukan secara langsung membantu meningkatkan penyadar tahuan masyarakat yang menunjang usaha perlindungan dan penyelamatan penyu belimbing (Dermochelys coriacea) di pesisir Abun, Tambrau. Pendekatan yang sama juga mampu meningkatkan kemampuan calistung anak-anak sekolah dan kesadaran menjaga kebersihan lingkungan rumah, sekolah dan kampung. Abstract

ABSTRACT Various animal diseases are not always known by animal owners, so they must always be socialized even in the condition of the COVID-19 outbreak. This community service aims to provide animal health information to the community by online. This activity was carried out from in November 2020 using the Cisco Webex platform. The results showed that as many as 269 participants have joined in the socialization, consisting of 180 from Yogyakarta and 89 from outside Yogyakarta. Concluded that online socialization of animal health is successfully carried out and received a very good response from the community. Keywords: Animal health; Community service; Veterinary clinic ABSTRAK Berbagai macam penyakit hewan tidak selalu diketahui oleh pemilik hewan, sehingga harus selalu disosialisasikan walapun dalam kondisi wabah COVID-19. Pengabdian kepada masyarakat (PKM) ini bertujuan memberikan informasi kesehatan hewan kepada masyarkat secara daring. Pengabdian dilakukan pada bulan bulan Oktober sampai Nopember 2020 secara daring menggunakan platform Cisco Webex. Hasil PKM menunjukkan bahwa sebanyak 269 calon peserta telah mengikuti sosialisasi, yang terdiri dari 180 berasal dari Yogyakarta dan 89 dari luar Yogyakarta. Berdasar hasil kegiatan ini, disimpulkan bahwa sosialisasi tentang kesehatan hewan secara daring berhasil dilaksanakan dan mendapat respon sangat bagus dari masyarakat. Abstract

Abstract This activity aims to determine the process of providing Eid al-Adha animal meat in Manokwari Regency, Yogyakarta and Magelang City. Observations of the process were carried out directly which included slaughtering until the meat was packaged in each of the 3 mosques located in Manokwari Regency, Yogyakarta and Magelang City. Data were analyzed descriptively and presented in tables and figures. The number of Eid al-Adha animals slaughtered was 59 cows and 96 goats/sheep with the highest number of Eid al-Adha animals in Yogyakarta. The process of preparing Eid al-Adha animal meat in Manokwari Regency and Magelang City is the same, which consists of slaughtering, peeling, chopping, weighing and packaging. Meanwhile in Yogyakarta there is carcass weighing before chopping. In general, the implementation of the process of preparing Eid al-Adha animal meat in Manokwari Regency, Yogyakarta and Magelang City has endeavored to meet the hygiene and sanitation aspects as an effort to obtain halal and thoyib (good) Eid al-Adha meat.
