Abstract

Cervical cancer is the most common disease affecting women around the world. Early detection of cervical cancer is needed by using Visual Inspection with Acetic Acid (VIA). This method is relatively easy to do, and the examination costs are also quite affordable, making it more beneficial for women. This study was to determine the determinants of the VIA Test results. It is quantitative research with a descriptive approach presented in the form of a frequency distribution table. There are 100 samples of women of childbearing age acquired by purposive sampling at Patumbak District, Deli Serdang. From the samples, some respondents receive positive IVA test result as follows: 14% aged 36-35 years old, 14% Protestant, 19% married, 9% high school graduates, 10% housewife, 15% with minimum monthly income, 12% with 3-5 children, 17% has multigravida parity, 14% married at the age of 17-25 years old, 12% first-time mother at the age of 17-25 years old, and 14% with 5+ years using IUD contraception. The study was based on the negative VIA test result but with detected pre-cancerous lesions. Further research with different variables is necessary to acquire more information regarding cervicitis incidence causes, thus, reducing cervical cancer numbers.

Abstract

The incidence number of HIV/AIDS is the most worrying case globally, and the number keeps increasing. The highest risk factor affecting adolescents to have HIV/AIDS is lack of information. Thus, it is necessary to provide proper health education on HIV/AIDS using the small group discussion method. This study aims to determine the effect of HIV/AIDS education using the small group discussion method on teenagers' HIV/AIDS prevention knowledge. This research used a pre-experimental design, no control one-group pretest-posttest design. There were 55 respondents as samples obtained by using simple random sampling. They were divided into five small groups. Each group was provided the identical material, namely HIV and its prevention, for three hours with two sessions. The first session lasted for two hours consisted of knowledge sharing based on trigger cases. The second session lasted for one hour consisted of continuing and reviewing the material given in the first session. A questionnaire was handed out to collect adolescent knowledge about HIV/AIDS and analyzed the data using paired t-test. The result showed that adolescent knowledge scores on HIV/AIDS increased after being provided with health education on HIV/AIDS. The paired t-test value of a knowledge is p = 0.000 (p-value<0.05). The implication in this study is that providing health education on HIV/AIDS using the small group discussion method has proven to be effective in expanding adolescent knowledge on HIV/AIDS prevention.

Around 90% of patients having stroke experience sudden weakness or paralysis of  the  limb.  Other  signs  and  symptoms  include  memory  problems  and  some  signs indicating impaired brain function. This study aims to determine the relationship between social support and anxiety levels of stroke patients dependent on daily activities using a dynamic correlation research design. This study's data sources are primary data and secondary data using a questionnaire instrument and analysis using chi-square test. The analysis of social support with the anxiety level of stroke patients dependent on daily activities shows that the p value = 0.184 (p> 0.05 then Ho is rejected, and Ha is accepted). This means no relationship exists between social support and anxiety levels in stroke patients who experience dependency on daily activities at RSUD Dr. RM Djoelham Binjai.

Abstract

In Indonesia, industrial nurses are only required to have an Occupational Safety and Health (K3) certificate up to this time. This policy is not in line with Law No. 36/2014. As a result, there is an imbalance between industry needs for quality nursing services and existing nurses' competence. This study aimed to analyze policies related to the competencies of corporate nurses in meeting the needs of health care services in the industry. This study used PRISMA Flow Diagram as a systematic review supported by quantitative descriptive design. The research was conducted through document searches, identifying keywords, and reviewing articles from Google Scholar (6 records), Research Gate (8 records), and PubMed (5 records), and others were 52 records. Out of 71 documents, 36 records were assessed for eligibility, and 35 records were excluded, and 16 studies were included in the review. It was found that there was an imbalance between the regulations, education programs, and implementation. It requires the strengthening of a multisectoral approach in the development of OH nursing education.

Abstract

Using Nigella sativa oil for skin care is a nursing measure to maintain skin integrity to prevent further tissue damage. The oil contains thymoquinone (27.8%-57%), which has been tested to heal a wound, acting as a potent analgesic and anti-inflammatory. Linoleic acid (57.9%) and linolenic acid (0.2%) act as cell-forming substances and helping to moisturize the skin. This study aims to discover the effect of Nigella sativa oil, which is applied to prolonged bedridden patients with the risk of decubitus. This study used a quasi-experimental design with one group pretest-posttest design. Random sampling was used to acquire 34 people as samples by using the probability sampling technique. This study also used paired sample test as a research analysis. The result showed a significant effect using Nigella sativa oil for skin care with a p-value = 0.000 (p<0.05).
