Abstract

Electric vehicles are a future transportation option that has the advantages of reducing air pollution and being environmentally friendly. Battery-based electric vehicles are still relatively new in Indonesia and have not received public attention like conventional oil-fueled vehicles. Electric vehicles such as electric cars have been socialized, but there are still many assumptions that electric cars are still not roadworthy because they are still in the development process. Presidential regulation number 55 of 2019 is expected to be the legal basis for boosting the development of electric vehicles in Indonesia. This study address to explore and identify the main impact factors of product change on the automotive industry in Indonesia. To identify this case, the model was built based on the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) which was expanded in the context of the adoption of electric vehicles. This study aims to identify what factors can affect product changes in the automotive industry. This model is formed by main constructs: individual behavior, subjective norms, and perceived behavior control, as well as three other factors identified from the literature review and interviews. Based on this research, it was found that three factors can have an impact on product changes in the automotive industry. These three factors are subjective norms, perceived risk, and logistical incentives. Apart from these three factors, other supporting factors are also expected to be able to develop the electric vehicle ecosystem in Indonesia.

Abstract

The nitinol-60 shape memory alloy has been rated as the most widely utilized material in real-life industrial applications, including biomedical appliances, coupling and sealing elements, and activators, among others. However, less is known about its optimization characteristics while taking advantage to choose the best parameter in a surface integrity analysis using the wire EDM process. In this research, the authors proposed a robust Taguchi-Pareto (TP)-grey wolf optimization (GWO)-desirability function analysis (DFA) scheme that hybridizes the TP method, GWO approach, and DFA method. The point of coupling of the TP method to the GWO is the introduction of the discriminated signal-to-noise ratios contained in the selected 80-20 Pareto rule of the TP method into the objective function of the GWO, which was converted from multiple responses to a single response accommodated by the GWO. The comparative results of five outputs of the wire EDM process before and after optimization reveals the following understanding. For the CR, a gain of 398% was observed whereas for the outputs named Rz, Rt, SCD, and RLT, losses of 0.0996, 0.0875, 0.0821, and 0.0332 were recorded. This discrimination of signal-to-noise ratio based on the 80-20 rule makes the research different from previous studies, restricting the data fed into the GWO scheme to the most essential to accomplishing the TP-GWO-DFA scheme proposed. The use of the TP-GWO-DFA method is efficient given the limited volume of data required to optimize the wire EDM process parameters of nitinol.

Abstract

It is difficult to improve the quality of friction stir welded joints of AA5052-H32 material because of scarce metrics on its concurrent optimization and prioritization. However, the objective of this article is to obtain optimal parametric values and identify important parameters using the Taguchi-Pareto method during the friction stir welding process of AA5052-H32 material. Then the ranks, delta values and optimal parameters are determined. The critical parameters identified for the friction stir welding process are the tool pin, rotational speed, welding speed and tool angle. When comparing the results of these parameters using the Taguchi method and Taguchi-Pareto method, the rotational speed retained its first position in both methods; the tool tilt angle gained the second position in the Taguchi-Pareto method from its third position when only the Taguchi method was considered. The welding speed became the third position in the Taguchi-Pareto method against the second position that it had in the Taguchi method. However, the tool pin profile retained its last position in both methods. Consequently, the rotational speed is the best parameter while the tool pin profile is the worst parameter. For the Taguchi-Pareto method, the optimal parametric setting is TPP2/TPP4RS1WS4TTA3. This is interpreted as cylindrical tapered or square tapered for the tool profile, 40 rpm of rotational speed, 75 mm/min of welding speed and 1.5° of tool tilt angle. The novelty of this study is the scope of analysis of the AA5052-H32 material that extends beyond the Taguchi method to the Taguchi-Pareto method where the concurrent optimization and prioritization of friction welding parameters are achieved.

Abstract

Concurrent optimization and prioritization of wire EDM parameters can improve resource allocations in material processing and should be effective. This study advances the integrated analytic (AHP)-Taguchi(T)-tournament-based-genetic algorithm (tGA) method to moderate the influence of erroneous resource allocation in parametric analysis decisions in wire electrical discharge machining. The structure builds on the AHP-T method’s platform obtained from the literature and develops it by including the tGA while processing the AZ91 magnesium alloy. The article evaluates the delta values for the average signal-to-noise ratios in the response table and deploys them to arrive at the winners in a league and consequently mutate the chromosomes for performance improvement. The scale of relative importance, consistency index, optimal parametric setting, delta values, and ranks are all established and coupled with the total value and maximum value evaluation at the selection crossover and mutation stages of the genetic algorithm. The results at the mutation, crossover, and selection stages of the tournament selection process showed total values of 124410, 96650, and 70564, respectively. At the selection stage, the maximum value to be the winner of the tournament is 28704. The crossover operation was accomplished after the 5th, 5th, and 6th bit for the first three pairs, respectively. For the selection and crossover operations, the maximum value is 28604 and 27944, respectively. The research clarifies which parameters are the best and worst during optimization using the AHP-T-tGA method.

Abstract

Lestari Seserahan is a business unit engaged in offering services, utilizing business digitalization to promote its business to achieve customer satisfaction. Customer satisfaction can, of course, be influenced by various factors such as the number of manufacturers offering in the same field, the price and quality offered, and the location of available business locations. Based on this, Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) business actors want to know the factors that can influence customer satisfaction so that there are no wrong steps in determining what strategy will be used to make improvements and maintain the level of customer satisfaction using the Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) method and Importance Performance Analysis (IPA) method. The purpose of the CSI method is to determine customer satisfaction. In contrast, the IPA method aims to identify attributes based on their respective importance and is illustrated using a Cartesian diagram. The calculations using the CSI method yield results of 92.20% and are included in the "Very Satisfied" category, followed by the IPA method, which is described in the Cartesian diagram that no attributes are included in Quadrant I (Top Priority). In Quadrant II (Maintain Achievement), attributes 1, 2, 3, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 17, and 19. In Quadrant III (Low Priority), namely attributes 4, 5, 6, 7, 16, and 18. In Quadrant IV (Excessive), only one attribute is included in the plotting of this quadrant, namely attribute 8.

Abstract

PT XYZ is a company that manufactures of tire fabrics in the Tangerang. Global competition force the company continues to strive to reduce process costs, one of which is by reducing the highest percentage of defects, namely corky defects, corky defects reach 39.7% of total defects. The tree diagram and FMEA methods, selected for the analysis of potential failures that cause corky defects are found namely: Threads are not clamped when changing pots, joints are not pulled at the beginning of running, roll regulator worn is used for the process, dirty of roll regulator is used for the process, wrong setting inner brake. The 5W 1H method results from corrective actions, namely: Refreshing programs for twisting production operators, checking periodically the roll regulator used by the process is still good, making schedules, and reporting on the implementation of cleaning roll regulators and evaluating by production leaders. From the corrective actions taken, it succeeded in reducing the percentage of corky defects in the twisting plant 2 process, down from 39.7% to 14.9% in semester 2 of 2021.
