Abstract

Background: Elementary school must be a strong foundation to reach a higher level of education. This is inseparable from the beginning of the level of education starting from early childhood and kindergarten because it is a level of education to start the formation of children's character. One of the subjects given at every level of education is Mathematics. Mathematics is one of the sciences that has an important role in shaping the mindset of students, because in mathematics students are required to have the ability to think logically, systematically, analytically as well as problem solving abilities. Various attempts have been made by the teacher in increasing the ability of students to understand mathematics subjects. However, the expected results are still not optimal, even the learning and teaching process becomes unpleasant and tends to be boring for students. One of the math problems that is often found is the difficulty of students in solving story problems. Even though the story problem is a form of evaluation of the ability of students in understanding the basic concepts of mathematics that have been learned, in the form of questions about applying formulas. Purpose: This study aims to examine the extent to which students' ability to work on math story problems. It could help teachers to find out the problems of students in working on math story problems and make students able to solve problems in the form of stories with the right method. Design and methods: The research method used is qualitative methods. Qualitative research is research in accordance with the data, utilizing existing theories as explanatory material. Abstract

Background: Student parents are supposed to provide maximum chaperones in primary school study. However, some parents are not at home at all and work late into the night, including the parents of Pasir Jawa 01. Purpose: The results of student study can be seen from parents' association. Therefore, the intent is to know the parent's relation to the students' learning during long distance study. Design and methods: The method used was the quantitative method, the collection of data done with Numbers and written documentation. The analysis subject is student parents and student learning during the long range learning process. Results: This study suggests that there is no or no influence between parent-teaching and student learning during long range study. This is because some of the student parents work late into the night so that the child feels inadequate to his or her parents' attention, when parents are not at home only a few students are accompanied by other family  members, a parent's education, parental understanding in operating the technology and the student's parent's cell phone monitoring policies that cause a parent's absence from the results of a student's learning over long distances.

Abstract

Background: Home environment as the first place of education for students should be able to provide a good role for its development. In fact, it is realized that there are still many problematic families or home environments that cause problems for students, especially in the learning process at school. Students' problems can be seen from where the problems come from, both from relationships in the family and family situations. Family problems and family situations can affect students in school in terms of learning concentration and school activities, resulting in decreased student achievement. Therefore, guidance and counseling teachers need to carry out home visits. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of implementing a home visit on student learning outcomes. Design and methods: This study uses quantitative research where data collection in the field is carried out by means of a questionnaire (Questionnaire). The object of this research is the home visit service and the learning outcomes of grade 3 students at SD IQ Al-Islam. The location in this study was conducted at SD IQ Al-Islam and the time of the study was conducted in November 2020. Results: The results of this study indicate that the implementation of a home visit has a positive effect on student learning outcomes by 96% in grade 3 SD IQ Al-Islam, meaning the better the implementation of the home visit will improve student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Background: COVID-19 affects education systems and leading to the closure of schools, universities and colleges. As the consequence, the learning process is done from home in which needs some adjustment on the delivery method of teaching-learning. To be specific, the teaching-learning process is about how teacher and students interact each other based on a certain method of learning. Purpose: This study aims to investigate to what extent the NHT method can be used for an alternative method in promoting teaching-learning process in COVID-19 era. Design and methods: The study used library research method which investigates data from the documents, such as articles, news, books etc. related to NHT. The findings are validated by using triangulation data source technique. Results: the study reveals Transforming the method of teaching from offline class to online class is a way to solve in transferring the knowledge to the students. NHT is one of the many methods can use the meetings conference platform.

Abstract

Background: Information accessed by students does not rule out the possibility of a number of local and foreign languages. Students optimize the use of smartphones by scanning certain pages in foreign books. Purpose: this study aims to reveal the phenomena that encourage changes in students' translation habituation in learning. Design and methods: This research was conducted using a descriptive analysis method, by conducting a survey of undergraduate students at 6 campuses. The data in this study were in the form of a questionnaire and a number of documents from journals and books. The valid data are then analysed to draw generalizations. Results: This study reveals the habituation of using machine translators that are commonly used by students. This translation habituation has two sides, 1) lecture assignments that require information or those that are required to use English can be carried out and 2) students lack information due to lack of understanding of knowledge about the quality of translation.

Abstract

Background: RA encounters the challenge of curriculum adjustment during the Covid-19 pandemic. The RA Emergency Curriculum Guide as a reference requires adjustments to be implemented according to RA’s circumstance.    Purpose: The purpose of this study is to find out the implementation of the Emergency Curriculum at RA Al-Akhyar South Jakarta, in the learning process towards the post Covid-19 pandemic.  Design and methods: This study uses a qualitative approach with research procedures involving observation, interpretation and reporting of research results descriptively. The research subjects are RA Al-Akhyar in South Jakarta and the Principal of RA Al-Akhyar. Research subjects are determined by purposive sampling technique. The research instruments are observation and interviews. Observations are conducted to determine the implementation of the curriculum at RA Al-Akhyar, while interviews are conducted to understand the perspective of the research subjects on curriculum implementation at RA Al-Akhyar.  Results: The results of the study show that during the pandemic, the learning time starts earlier. During the pandemic, the learning method focuses on three (3) methods or their combinations, namely; (1) inquiry learning; (2) project-based learning; and (3) problem-based learning. Utilization of Information Technology and the environment around students is well perceived. During the pandemic, the effectiveness of the material for clean and healthy living behavior, as well as literacy and life skills content is increasing. Abstract

Background: Learning Indonesian Language in Higher Education level has a different focus from other levels. Learning Indonesian in tertiary institution does not only study the rules of the Indonesian language, but also implements them in scientific writing with an orientation to the use of technology. Indonesian language course also exists in foreign language study programs. One of the learning weight indicators is the time suitability as a key factor in the success of learning. Purpose: This study aims to find out the students’ perception of satisfaction level of English Literature study program, towards the time suitability for tasks in Indonesian Language course. Design and methods: This study uses a descriptive quantitative approach. The research method is a survey with the data collection instrument, the questionnaires. The research subjects are students who take the Indonesian language course at the English Literature Study Program, Universitas Gunadarma. The research sample is 148 respondents. Data collection is conducted in the even semester of the 2021/2022 academic year. The perception of the satisfaction level towards the time suitability for the Indonesian language course is conducted through 4 (four) indicators, namely; (1) study time, (2) structured task time, (3) independent task time, (4) exam time. Results: The results showed that there is a positive response to time suitability in Indonesian language course. As much as 73.64% of the sample respondents stated that it is very sufficient for learning time suitability, 74.32% is very sufficient for structured task time, 70.94% is very sufficient for time independent tasks and 70 .27% is very sufficient for exam time. Students’ perceptions of the time suitability for learning Indonesian course are positive with an average suitability of 72.29%, which is very sufficient
