Abstract

Medari Karya Mulia is a company working under PT. PERTAMINA.PT. Medari Karya Mulia has field in repairing service (retest, repair, dan repaint) for 3 Kg LPG tube. Aiming in making production process run efficiently, it needs a planning for grouping production activities in a several work stations. These work stations will be useful for saving needed resource (especially for human resource), and optimizing workload that can be handled by an operator. For the purpose, first, workload analysis is held on this study, so the number of operator for each production activity can be determined. Further more, duration time for each work station should be nearly same, so production flow between work stations can be smooth, and bottleneck between work stations and idle work station can be minimized. Then Rank Position Weight (RPW) method from Line of Balancing concept is done on this work for grouping production activities into several work stations, with considering result of workload analysis. Workload analysis results are 1) 53% of operator workload is less optimal (the value is < 1), and 2) there are differences between the existing number of operator for each work activity and the proposed one. RPW method result shows there are 5 work stations can be made.

Abstract

Tourism development must be based on sustainability criteria, which means that it must be ecologically sustainable in the long term, and economically feasible, and ethically and socially equitable for local communities. The development of a tourist object cannot be separated from the examination of physical and psychological factors that affect the life cycle of an area which ultimately leads to decline. The development of the tourism world encourages further research in each tourist destination because each region has different characteristics, so dynamism of a tourism area management is possible. A tourist area will experience a cycle (TALC) that is divided into seven stages along with the characteristics at each stage. Methodology was carried out by observing and interviewing about the development of tourist destinations and analyzing the number of tourist visits in a few months so that one cycle was obtained. This theory is used in Gancik Hill Top tourist attractions in order to find out the existence of the attraction of the region. This theory is also applied to see the characteristics of existing infrastructure in the region. Since it opened in 2015, an increase in the number of tourist visits is increasingly visible. Data from March - June 2018 visits saw a 56% increase in tourist visits for tourist destinations, and 37% for climbers. In addition, there is an increase in outside investor capital, growth of tourism organizations, more adequate facilities, providers of foreign tourism services and artificial tourist attractions as well as more physically opening tourist destinations.

Abstract

Coastal ecosystems are dynamic ecosystems and biodiversity, both on land and at sea, and interact between these habitats. But behind its great potential, coastal areas are vulnerable to the impact of human activities. Development activities, in general, directly and indirectly have an adverse impact on coastal ecosystems. In addition to biodiversity, coastal areas also have resource productivity and environmental services as well as accessibility. In these conditions, the coastal region finds its relevance as a potential place for the development of various development activities intensively. However, on the other hand, it is also very vulnerable to various forms of negative impacts caused by development activities both within the coastal areas and those on the upper and the high seas. Thus, the fundamental and critical challenge for the coastal area planners and managers is how to facilitate economic development, while minimizing the negative impacts of development activities in accordance with the carrying capacity of the coastal environment. Coastal tourism becomes one potential alternative that can be developed. This article aims to examine the development of marine ecotourism in support of sustainable development. This study takes place in the tourist area of Karang Jahe Beach, Rembang Regency. The study was conducted qualitative descriptive based on existing literature studies. Studies show that natural resource-based tourism activities, including marine tourism, are tools to support sustainable development. The growth of ecotourism activities promotes economic growth and community welfare and conservation of natural resources.
