Abstract

The application of OFDM technology is still not fully implemented in the Telecommunication Study Program at State Polytechnic of Malang. This is because the application of this technology is applied to hardware. However, this can be overcome by simulating the OFDM technology through software. From the application of the system into the program by entering the predetermined parameters, the BER value can be compared to the predetermined parameters. Bit error that appears in the application of the OFDM Multi user system for bit error in BPSK Modulation with AWGN and Rayleigh Fading channels appears bit error respectively with an average of 9 bits and 14 bits at 11 dB SNR. Whereas in the QPSK modulation with AWGN and Rayleigh Fading channels, each bit error appears with an average of 13 bits and 18 bits on the SNR of 14 dB. Furthermore, in the calculation of bandwidth efficiency in the frequency allocation of 20 MHz for BPSK modulation, three values ??of bandwidth efficiency are obtained, among others, 1 bps / Hz in theory for practical, namely the code rate ½ is 0.3 bps / Hz and the code rate ¾ is 0.45 bps / Hz. While the QPSK modulation also obtained three values ??of bandwidth efficiency, namely, 2 bps / Hz in theory for practical, namely the code rate ½ is 0.6 bps / Hz and the code rate ¾ is 0.9 bps / Hz.

Abstract

Several types of codecs in VoIP are G.711, iLBC, GSM and Speex. This study aims to compare the quality of calls through different codecs and design a VoIP practicum module for students. The research method was carried out by conducting literature studies, planning network design, device configuration, determining QoS parameters and testing VoIP calls to determine the quality of VoIP calls through different codecs. From the analysis, it is found that G.711 is an audio codec with very good QoS parameters, namely a delay of 5.28 ms; jitter 5.12 ms; 347.04 kbps throughput, 0% packet loss, and 64 kbps bandwidth. while for audio codec with good enough parameters, namely GSM with a delay of 42.02 ms; jitter 19.46 ms; 39.18 kbps throughput, 0% packet loss and 13kbps bandwidth. In addition to data testing, non-technical testing was carried out on 16 respondents with pre-test, post-test and questionnaire testing. From the pre-test, respondents got an average score of 45, while in the post-test it increased to 70.

Abstract

Coverage is needed to determine the amount of signal coverage that can be reached by the antenna at the base station. Therefore, in order to know the coverage area of ??a base station, a link budget coverage area application is needed. The purpose of making a link budget coverage area calculation application system at a base station is to assist in calculating the link budget to determine the coverage area of ??a base station and is also used as a learning module for mobile communication systems at State Polytechnic of Malang. The method of determining the coverage area is done in 2 ways, namely the calculation using the application and the drive test. The method of calculating the link budget coverage area used is 3 models, the Okumura-Hatta model is used to calculate the GSM system coverage area, the Cost-231 Hatta model for the DCS system, and the Walfisch Ikegami model for the UMTS 2100 system. measurement of the signal level around the base station area. The comparison of the coverage area between the measurement and calculation results is almost close to the difference in coverage of less than 100 m. Wherefrom the results of the drive test, the farthest range is 980 m with a signal level value of -91 dBm. Meanwhile, from the calculation side, the results obtained coverage of 1.06 km and 1.05 km with a signal level of -90 dBm

Abstract

Telecommunications support equipment and systems play a vital role in the network. Multi-band sectoral antennas are starting to replace single-band sectoral antennas at several base stations. The use of a single-band antenna that requires many antennas at the base station is not practical. The following research is conducting tests to evaluate the coverage area, rx signal level and network throughput produced by a multi-band sectoral antenna. Comparison of coverage area calculation using the walfisch-ikegami method. Testing the coverage area with the rx signal level utilizes a drive test so that the optimization of the success of the multi-band antenna is paired to obtain data to support decision making and determine the efficiency of the device in urban areas. From the test results of these 3 factors, the network efficiency generated by multi-band sectoral antennas and single-band sectoral antennas on the antenna coverage area shows that the results of single-band antennas are further than multi-band antennas. Meanwhile, on the signal side that is measured in the drive test process, the 2G network produced by the multi band antenna is better, for the 3G network the single band antenna is better. The 3G network throughput measurement data shows that the uplink access speed results are not good, because the good throughput value is only 42.54%. Measurements on the downlink side are also in poor condition, because the good throughput value is 38.57%.

Abstract

Data exchange communication has developed that leads to centralized communication, and to realize this communication, a type of data communication is needed whose data is stored on a server and can be accessed by clients, such as at the Malang State Polytechnic. As an institution engaged in the world of education, the development of data communication is centralized by utilizing the established intranet network. The use of an intranet network allows for data communication that is vulnerable to eavesdropping. To overcome this, use a VPN network. PPTP VPN and L2TP/IPsec VPN have different performances, especially in the level of security provided. In this study, the performance analysis of the PPTP VPN and L2TP/IPsec VPN networks was carried out which was implemented on an FTP Server on a Raspberry Pi server and a Mikrotik router for the VPN configuration. In this study, we designed PPTP VPN and L2TP/IPsec VPN by configuring the Mikrotik RB9412nD-TC router and configuring FTP Server using the proftpd application on the Raspberry Pi server. For security analysis using hacking method to get VPN Server login data and sniffing method to get FTP Server login data, FTP data. For performance analysis using parameters delay, throughput, and packet loss.

Abstract

Trains are one of the most popular public transportations for consumers in Indonesia when they travel. For the service of providing information on the announcement of the next station stop, it has begun to be implemented in almost all train journeys, but in terms of delivery it is still manually using loudspeakers with sound system devices. This system uses a tablet with Android OS as the main control. The communication system utilizes the GPS system when the tracking process with additional data access is more accurate. For the input data, namely the voice recording data of the announcer for each station to be visited and the parameter data of the coordinate points before entering the stopping station. The system created will track the train route and issue an announcer sound on the sound system and the speed feature will be displayed in real time on this application. From the test results 10 times the implementation on the announcer train has sounded automatically according to the plan range area of ??± 2 km before entering the station. For data records, the highest delay time for data reception is 3 seconds. In the average difference from the calculation of the sample data record distance with the Euclidean theorem is 19 meters while the Haversine theorem is 22 meters.

Abstract

The general purpose of making an ATP (Acceptance Test Procedure) report is to test whether the system that has been worked on is in accordance with the function specifications (validation). The ATP report used by an agency is infrastructure, equipment installation, etc. The manufacture of ATP for BTS installation on telecommunication subcons is manual which can reduce a lot of work time and data discrepancies. Therefore, a web-based ATP report system was designed to be able to perform reports with proper coordinate validation prior to installation and can also save work time. The web-based ATP report can match the important points of BTS installation. System planning starts from data collection and analysis to be used as a web-based report. Data transmission will be accommodated on the server and will be stored in the data base using My SQL. After the design is complete, it can be seen that with the analysis stage of the system design and system design using Data Flow Diagrams (DFD), input output design, responses from each each user with the function of each form content. for user engineers there are 97.2% agree from some menu functions, for user documentation there are 97.5% agree with the system, for user owners there are 91.65% agree and also QoS (Quality Of Service) testing is carried out for several cellular operators namely Im3 ooredoo , XL, Telkomsel and also the Polynema wifi network.

Abstract

In today's modern era, electronic devices have become a necessity that is often used in everyday life. With the development of increasingly advanced science and technology, many things can be used to meet the needs in terms of controlling electronic devices, one of which is controlling electronic devices using voice commands, where this system can be used for people with hand disabilities. In this research, a system will be made using Voice Recognition Module V3 as voice recognition to turn on and turn off electronic devices. The Voice Recognition Module will receive input in the form of voice commands via the microphone as a transducer and is connected to Arduino uno as the main microcontroller which will access the Control Panel which consists of Relay and Contactor components as controlled objects connected to Electronic Devices (Lamps, TV and AC). In the results of the system research, the percentage of successful speech recognition according to the voice sample is 96.6% from 10 times the pronunciation of the command given to each command. While the percentage of success when giving orders only with fragments of words is 21.25%. At the success rate of giving voice commands to different people, the percentage of success is 81%. The success rate for giving commands will be more responsive when in a room without noise or conducive, but the success rate for giving commands will decrease when pronunciation is at a distance of 1M.

Abstract

With the influence of customer growth and environmental influences from an HSDPA network in the form of nodeB which stands in the Malang City area, it can experience integration. This causes measurements to be carried out continuously and periodically to provide the latest radio environmental information. The vendor as the network operator performs optimization in order to provide customers with the best quality service. One of them is in the form of network performance which aims to ensure that network resources are used efficiently. The method in achieving network optimization that is still used by vendors in Indonesia is by measuring network performance, then analyzing the results of measuring network performance and finally network tuning. For measuring network performance using a test drive. Of the 13 nodeB in Lowokwaru District, Malang City, it is necessary to optimize the HSDPA network with the suggestion of a downtilt antenna on the Ketawanggede nodeB sector 3, which is 2º The results of the calculation of the path loss parameters from each of the 13 nodeBs obtained the highest value of 125.31 dB at nodeB Ketawanggede and the lowest 114.29 dB at nodeB Vinolia Malang sector 3. The results of the RSCP parameter calculation at 13 nodeB obtained the best value at nodeB Vinolia Malang sector 3 with RSCP of -69.29dBm. While the worst value at nodeB Ketawanggede with RSCP is -80.31dBm.

Abstract

The high use of the internet makes the availability of hotspots a demand for all groups of Indonesian people. The use of computer networks using wifi is widely available in various places, for example in offices, schools, cafes, etc. A person must first login to the wifi network in order to access the internet, the login process is carried out by inputting a username and password, in this process the accuracy of user reading is very necessary, it is not uncommon for users to enter the username and password incorrectly which consists of a fairly long row of numbers and must re-enter it username and password. Therefore, it is necessary to build a support system, namely a wifi subscription payment system using NFC technology on an Android-based smartphone. This NFC technology can help during the login process to a wifi network. Wifi users no longer need to enter a long user name and password to log in, besides that NFC technology is a subscription identity card that can be used anywhere and easy to carry anywhere. This system also makes it easier for wifi corner business owners, because this system performs AAA (Authentication, Authorization, and Accounting) functions for users who want to access an internet network. After making the application, testing is carried out by measuring the reading distance of the NFC reader on the smartphone to the NFC tag.
