Abstract

LPG (Liquid Petroleum Gas) has been used in everyday life. But if there is leakage it will cause poisoning and explosion. Underlying this, the authors made research on monitoring and control of air quality. The purpose of this study is to make a device that can detect earlier leakage of LPG. This device can detect excess levels of carbon monoxide in the air. Even more, it can avoid the danger of fire and poisoning. The research method used descriptive analysis method and quantitative analysis method. Measurements and testing with accurate reference measuring instruments. Based on testing and analysis, the device can work well with an average percentage error of 1.92% for CO gasmeasurement and 3.1% for LPG gas measurement. Increasing gas content in each sensor is proportional of increasing in the sensor output voltage. Some of the factors that cause errors were the differences of sensor sensitivity and environmental conditions where the sample measured.

Abstract

The unidirectional voltage source is obtained through an uncontrolled 220 Volt single phase full wave rectifier circuit. Installation of large amount capacitors as a filter affect input waveform. Due to the harmonics distort sinusoidal input voltage from the PLN grid. The difference in voltage waveforms and input currents that occur can affect the value of the resulting factor. Based on this problem, a study was made on theimprovement of power factors using a series of Interleaved Boost Converter which functioned as a series of Power Factor Correction (PFC) and voltage regulators with a setting method using Fuzzy logic. This Interleaved Boost Converter circuit is made to work in the condition of the Discontinues Conduction Mode (DCM) so that any load that is supplied to the circuit will make the system resistive. So, it is expected that thevoltage and input current waveforms will produce a factor value close to the unity value. The results of this study are the Interleaved Boost Converter series that can be used as a Power Factor Correction circuit and also as a voltage regulator. It improves power factor from 0.9 to 0.93.

Abstract

To turn on and turn off lights in the mosque area in general still use a manual system that is to turn off and turn on the lights using a switch located on the wall. Therefore, currently a system that has been designed automatically is needed to control the light of life and the outages of lights based on a predetermined time and based on the detection of human presence, so that the lights will turn on and off automatically at the set time according to needs, namely using Real Time Clock (RTC) and Passive Infrared Receiver (PIR) sensors. The results obtainedin the form of a light controller system in the area of the mosque using DS3231 RTC and Arduino Nano At mega 328P PIR Sensor. At 3:00 and 17:00 the condition of the lights is on and at 05:30 and 21:00 the lights are off. For the measurement of PIR sensor detection distance, the distance of 5 meters of the PIR sensor can still detect the presence of human movements, after 5 meters or even 6 meters of the PIR sensor cannot detect human movement. So that within a distance of 6 meters or more, the toilet lights cannot turn on automatically or turn off.

Abstract

In this era, practical, effectiveness and safety in activities are the necessities and demands of life where almost all people make it a priority in their lives. Effectiveness in activities will be obtained by the availability of technology that supports it all. Various efforts have been made by humans to make neat clothes so as to create a clean impression and support various activities, an example of the results of human efforts that are widely used to overcome this is by using an iron. In addition, the majority of the equipment still requires manual operation. Apart from the practical side, but does not eliminate the safety side. So here the author is interested in conducting research on the practicality of use which is later expected to make the use of irons more efficient, practical and safe. The measured parameter is how the DS18B20 temperature sensor functions as a temperature response receiver that sends a signal to the temperature sensor module which will activate or deactivate the iron through a smartphone. The results of this study that the device is able to send a signal to the smartphone and if the temperature produced by the iron exceeds the maximum limit a warning sign will appear on the smartphone, and the user can operate the iron online and remotely using a smartphone. The speed of response received by the tool is also to be forwarded to the iron or smartphone is also in accordance with needs.

Abstract

LPG (Liquified Petroleum Gas) is one of the important sources of energy. When compared with other fuels such as oil or firewood, LPG is very practical to be used for household because the material is produced from gas. But behind its practicality, it turns out that LPG gas can cause a danger if not used carefully. According to statistics, the second position of causing fire is a leaky gas cylinder that was ignited by a fire source. To overcome this problem, there a lot of research that uses special tools that can be used to detect leaks for LPG. In the design of the tool, most researchers used MQ-6 type sensors that were indeed built to utilize LPG gas. But studies on the characteristics of MQ-6 have not been done much, especially about the sensitivity of this sensor when used to detect LPG gas at a certain distance, so it needs to be researched about sensor placement. Therefore, in this study the sensitivity testing of the MQ-6 sensor was carried out. The results obtained at a distance of 10 to 30 cm, this sensor is very sensitive in detecting the presence of gas, but at a distance of 30 to 110 cm, it is less sensitive to detect presence of LPG gas because it can only support 10% of the total amount of gas in the air at a distance of 110 cm.
