Abstract

The purpose of this reseach was to determine the composition of the right planting media for the growth of rubber plant seeds. This research was conducted for 3 (three) months The State Agricultural Polytechnic at Samarinda. This reseach consists of three levels of media composition treatment namely 75% top soil media and 25% sand (m1), 50% top soil media and 50% sand (m2) and 25% top soil soil media and 75% sand (m3) ). The composition of the planting media of top soil 50% and 50% sand gives better results to the growth of plant height and number of leaves compared to the treatment of the composition of other planting media, namely the composition of the top soil media 75% and 25% sand and the treatment of top soil planting media 25% and 75% sand.

Abstract

Growing media is very important for optimal plant growth and production, especially for planting media that have just been transplanted, so that suitable growing media is needed. The planting medium that is commonly used is top soil, because it contains many nutrients derived from the decomposition process of leaves that have fallen and root. However, the availability of top soil is limited to only + 30 cm from the soil surface. Whereas Sub soil is horizon B layer which is available in greater quantities but needs to improve the physical properties of sub soil so that it approaches the top soil properties, among others by adding compost. This purpose to determine the growth of rubber plants with composotion different planting media on rubber seed after transplanting. This research was in the Production Laboratory of the Study Program of Cultivation of Agriculture Plant in The State Agricultural Polytechnic at Samarinda for 4 (four) months. The treatment in this study was the comparison of the transplanting media of rubber seed, each repeated 5 (five) times, with 4 (four) treatment levels, are p0 = no treatment (control), p1 = comparison of planting media of rubber seed from top soil with sub soil of 1: 1, p2 = comparison of planting media of rubber seed from compost soil with sub soil of 1: 1, and p3 = comparison of planting media of rubber seedlings from compost soil with sub soil of 1: 2. The results of the study showed that the growth of rubber plant seedlings in the parameters of the number of leaves, stem deameter and plant height after transplanting using planting media from a mixture of sub soil with compost with a ratio of 1: 1 and 1: 2 is the same as the growth of rubber seedlings in the planting media of sub soil mixed with top soil.

Abstract

Along with the rapid progress on industrial sector also the expansion of oil palm plantation area, thus it will require a lot of human resource. In order to move and influence the employee, they need a leader to reach company’s goals. Purposes of this research are to identify the leadership style and work enthusiasm also to analyse the influence of estate Manager’s leadership style toward employees’ work enthusiasm in PT. Niagamas Gemilang. The method that used in this research is multiregression analysis with SPSS 22.0 and questioner. Respondent is divided in three classes which are all Field Assistant, all Foreman and 15% of Permanent Daily Employees in one Estate. The result showed that the Manager tend to apply task oriented leadership style. Furthermore, there was a significant influence from task oriented and employee oriented leadership style towards employee’s work enthusiasm both simultaneously and partially towards Field Asistant’s work enthusiasm. Meanwhile for Foreman and Permanent Daily Employee, there was no significant influence of the Manager’s leadership style on their work enthusiasm. This was caused by the form of organization structure, the direct supervisor of Foremans and Employees are not the Manager, therefore it would make sense if the leadership style that applied by the Manager has more and even greater influence toward Field Assistant whose direct supervisor is the Manager.

Abstract

Effect of Foreman Communication on Employee Performance at PT. Dewata Sawit Nusantara. This research is motivated by a number of cases of violence that occurred against the foreman, especially in the secretariat of oil palm plantations which caused the death of the foreman itself and automatically work in the palm oil sector will be hampered or decreased production even followed by poor quality of the oil palm plant itself. Of the several cases that occurred due to miscommunication between the foreman and the employee causing conflicts that triggered emotions on both sides. To support this research, the method of distributing questionnaires to respondents who have been chosen is chosen and not to forget the direct observation in the field and then supported by company data which is then processed in statistical tests to determine the effect of foreman communication on employee performance. It can be seen from the results of this study that good communication attitude from the foreman greatly influences the quality of employee performance and of course must also be supported by the good social adaptation abilities of the foreman.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to grow the height and diameter of the Solomon Teak tree (Tectona grandis) planted in 2006 on Samarinda-Bontang Street, Tanah Merah Village, North Samarinda District. The results of this study were able to provide information about the growth of Teak Solomon's height and diameter at that location and as input for the development of Solomon Teak plants, especially in East Kalimantan. The research method used is a simple random method to get 100 trees to be studied. Selected trees measured their height and diameter then analyzed with simple statistics.Based on the results of calculations, data analysis and discussion, it can be concluded that the growth of the average height and diameter of the Salomon Teak Jalan Poros Samarinda - Bontang is equal to 17.621 m for height and an average diameter of 19.246 cm. Growth is better than ordinary teak species (Perhutani) located in East Kutai. It is recommended for young teak plants to be maintained more intensively so that the adaptation process will quickly occur and minimize competition. Another factor that needs to be considered is doing mixcropping with annual plants considering the width of the spacing used

Abstract

Palm oil (Elaeis Guineensis Jack.) Is one of the mainstay plantation commodities in Indonesia. Palm oil agribusiness is one of the few industries that is Indonesia's competitive advantage to compete at the global level. Based on research that has been done the highest average productive work time is obtained at KP 3, 4, 5, 6, 9, and KP 10 which is equal to 48.8%, and the lowest productive time is obtained at KP 7 and KP 8 which is 47.4% with unproductive time the highest is obtained by KP 3 and KP 4 which is 12.5%, and the lowest unproductive time is obtained by KP 9 and KP 10 which is 9.6%, while the highest personal time is obtained by KP 5 and KP 6 which is 42.9% and the lowest personal time is obtained by KP 3 and KP 4 which is 38.5%. The overall time of employees between Earning time and personal time didn’t making a significant change this is due to KP at PT. Tanjung Buyu Perkasa Plantation works in teams, if between 1 or more than 1 employee in the process of working slowly it will hamper the work process of other employees. The calculation of the workload per year for the entire KP is below 1 with information on the underload, which means that the workload of the entire KP is relatively low because this is due to the flat land and fertilizer worker doing his work by teamwork.
