Abstract

Universitas Islam Negeri Walisongo Semarang has participated in the Green Campus ranking program organized by the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings in 2019 and 2020. There are six (6) categories in the UI GreenMetric standard which were assessed, namely: Setting and Infrastructure (SI), Energy and Climate Change (EC), Waste (WS), Water (WR), Transportation (TR) and Research and Education (ED). In 2019 and 2020 the Universitas Islam Negeri Walisongo Semarang was ranked 384 in the World with a total of 912 University participants worldwide. This achievement was obtained Universitas Islam Negeri Walisongo Semarang received a total score of 5,625 in the assessment in 2020. The Energy and Climate Change (EC) indicator managed to get the highest total score process compared to other indicators (23 %), While the Water Indicator (TR) received the lowest score by only getting a score percentage of 8%. Program sustainability needs to be accelerated by making specific policies that are in line with sustainable development and can be followed up with measurable programs so that they can increase the ranking in the following years.

Abstract

Karangjahe Beach, located in Rembang Regency, Central Java, has a huge tourism potential, this is indicated by the high number of visits per day reaching 2,878 visitors in 2017. The high number of visitors to this natural tourism object in addition to increasing the economy of the surrounding community also threatens sustainability natural resource and the environment in it if it is not managed properly, for that we need a management strategy on this Karangjahe Beach tourism object.SWOT analysis is a method of analysis that can be used to formulate a management strategy for an tourism object by considering the internal and external factors of a tourism object. The results of the strategic formulation of management of the Karangjahe coast natural tourism show that the main priority with the most important weight is to determine the direction of the Karangjahe Beach natural tourism to become sustainable natural tourism. This step was taken because the status of sustainable nature tourism is broader and is likely to be sought by relevant stakeholders. Whereas the strategic step that has the lowest weight rating is the step of making information boards and warning signs.Keywords: Management, Nature Tourism, SWOT, Karangjahe Beach

Abstract

Tofu is a food made from soybeans. The process of making tofu can produce solid and liquid waste which can cause environmental pollution. This study aims to determine the clean production and the process of making tofu through data collection by observation and direct interviews. The results showed that there were special dumpsites for tofu waste such as wells and their covers which were used for tofu waste water disposal. Tofu wastewater has high levels of Nitrogen (N), Phosphorus (P) and Potassium (K). Tofu wastewater also contains high protein so that the high nitrogen and phosphate content in wastewater can lead to unpleasant odors and eutrophication. For the tofu making process, there are several stages, namely soaking, milling, cooking, filtering and clumping which will then be sent to customers or sellers of tofu

Abstract

Background: Palu bay waters are susceptible to the heavy metals pollution due to the inclusion of the waste product of Palu city, agriculture waste, and traditional mining waste. At certain concentrations of heavy metal contamination of Hg and Pb in aquatic organisms can be toxic to the organisms. The objectives of this research was to determine the contamination of heavy metals mercury (Hg, and lead (Pb) and to analyze the histopathology of gill, meat, liver, and spleen torpedo scad fish. Methods: Hg and Pb contents in torpedo scad fish compared to SNI No. 7387: 2009 on Limit of Metal Contamination in Food Ingredients. Histopathological preparations were analyzed descriptively. Results: The results showed that Hg contents in gill, meat, liver, and spleen were 0,007-0,145 mg/kg; 0,014-0.046 mg/kg; 0,052-0,106 mg/kg, and 0,043-0,414 mg/kg, respectively. Pb contens in gill, meat, liver, and spleen were 0.132-0,775 mg/k; 0,005-0,734 mg/kg, 0,295-1,871 mg/kg, and 1,654-12,923 mg/kg, respectively. There were gill showed inflammation in secondary lamella; meat contained mineral deposits, and showed fatty degeneration and necrosis; liver contained mineral deposits and showed hepatocytes degeneration and necrosis; whils spleen contained mineral deposits and showed degeneration and depletion. Conclusions: The average of Hg and Pb contents in all observed fish organs were below of the quality standards, except for Pb concentrations in gill, liver, and spleen. Histopathological preparations were analyzed descriptively. Based on the histopathological analysis of fish organs, there were abnormality in each organ. Abstract

Pelepasan karbon ke alam dianggap menjadi salah satu faktor yang paling bertanggung jawab terhadap terjadinya climate change. Kondisi tersebut semakin diperburuk akibat banyaknya ekosistem hutan yang hilang atau rusak termasuk hutan mangrove. Sedangkan hutan mangrove memiliki potensi mitigasi terhadap perubahan iklim karena hutan mangrove memiliki kemampuan yang besar untuk menyerap dan menyimpan karbon dalam jumlah besar dan waktu lama. Tujuan penelitian ini ialah mengetahui mengetahui estimasi biomassa dan carbon stock serta kemampuan penyerapan karbon dari pohon mangrove sebagai penyusun utama hutan mangrove. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Trimulyo, Genuk, Semarang. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengambilan sampel adalah metode purposive sampling di 4 stasiun dengan total titik sampling 20. Persamaan allometrik digunakan untuk mengestimasikan simpanan karbon pada tegakan pohon. Hasil yang diperoleh ialah di kawasan tersebut ditemukan 2 jenis mangrove yaitu Avicennia marina dan Rhizopora mucronata. Nilai kerapatan jenis masing-masing spesies yaitu 1806,61 indv/ha, dan 485,32 indv/ha. Kandungan karbon yang ada pada tegakan pohon mangrove di seluruh kawasan seluas 30,3 Ha yaitu sekitar 141,43 ton karbon dengan kemampuan rata-rata menyimpan CO2 ialah sebesar 519,072 ton carbon /hari.

Abstract

Fishery port is a fisheries industry development area which is an economic development embryo in an area. The existence of a fishing port is also one of the efforts in the context of accelerating the progress of the coastal region, by optimizing coastal resources, through improving facilities and infrastructure in the fisheries sector. Waste material in the coastal area is mostly discharged into the sea. Routine activities that occur in fishing ports have the potential to become sources of pollution. That is because the waste originating from fishery activities has the potential to cause pollution to the aquatic environment including waste which is one of the main ingredients contained in domestic waste disposal. Organic waste is waste that in the process of decomposition requires oxygen. The results of sea water sampling in the coastal fishing port area indicate the occurrence of sea water pollution. So it is necessary to study how the community's perspective with the presence of coastal fishing ports. The method used is in-depth interviews with actors in coastal fishing ports and the local community. Perception of the assessment of the existence of the Tasikagung coastal fishing port can include water quality, economic, social and institutional. The total number of respondents gave responses to the existence of the Tasikagung coastal fishing port agree (85%), enough (10%), strongly agree (5%) and strongly disagree, disagree (0%) means that the Tasikagung community is very positive about the existence of the Port Tasikagung Beach Fisheries. The existence of the Tasikagung coastal fishing port is very influential on the economic sector of the people of Rembang and surrounding areas

Abstract

The background: Tempe is a food that is already familiar to the people of Indonesia. Tempe is a traditional Indonesian food made by fermentation using Rhizopus sp. Tempe is made from soybeans with high protein 32 %. The purpose of this research is to examine the application of clean production in the tempe industry through mass balance, to analyze the feasibility of clean production alternatives technically and environmentally and to determine the application of clean production. The research method: consists of identification of the production process, analyzing the application of clean production and determining the strategy of clean production. The processing carried out in production is the process of selecting soybeans, washing I, boiling, soaking, washing II, milling, washing III, fermenting and packaging. The production scale in this case study is 15 kg per day to produce 16,800 kg. The results: of implementing clean production in the home industry of making tempe are good house keeping, recycle, reduce and reuse. Based on several eligibility criteria, alternative implementation of clean production for this industry in the form of equipment modification, machinery. The conclusion of this study is that the tempe industry does not yet recognize clean production. Benefits derived from implementing cleaner production in the form of savings in production costs and environmental cleanliness.

Abstract

Tindakan penanganan bencana merupakan tanggung jawab dari pemerintah pusat dan pemerintah daerah. Data yang akurat dan cepat pada saat bencana dibutuhkan agar penanggulangan bencana dapat dilakukan dengan cepat, tepat, terkoordinasi dan menyeluruh dengan instansi-instansi pemerintah yang terkait. Teknologi informasi dan komunikasi mempunyai peranan besar dalam membantu proses pengumpulan data yang akurat dan cepat. Penelitian ini mengembangkan prototype sistem yang dapat digunakan untuk melakukan pengumpulan data bencana alam melalui piranti mobile. Selanjutnya data yang terkumpul akan disajikan dalam bentuk web dan tertampil pada peta, sehingga memudahkan instansi terkait dalam memantau kondisi bencana dan korban bencana. Penelitian ini memanfaatkan teknologi internet (web) dan layanan berbasis lokasi dalam implementasinya.

Abstract

Giving environmental value (valuation) is needed in knowing or estimating the value of environmental goods and services in an area. Karang Jahe Beach is a white sand beach tour that extends around 1.5 km located in the Punjulharjo Village, Rembang District, Rembang Regency which has its own uniqueness compared to other beaches in Rembang Regency. The purpose of this study was to determine the value of the intangible economic benefits of natural resources and the environment of Karangjahe Beach as a tourist destination. This research uses quantitative research methods, namely the Travel Cost Method (TCM) and uses logistic regression. The results of this study were obtained from the value of the intangible economic benefits of natural resources and the environment of Karangjahe Beach amounting to Rp 35,785,452,750, per year.With the value of the intangible economic benefits of natural resources and the environment of the Karangjahe Beach that is so large it is expected that the management and relevant stakeholders can realize and maintain the environment in Karangjahe Beach to be sustainable and become a tourist destination with environmental insight.
