Abstract

Every ship's plate will experience thinning or wear due to several factors, thinning of the plate is normal, especially at the bottom of the waterline. Therefore it is necessary to hold maintenance and replating on each part of the ship on a regular basis. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze the plate requirement at the change of the barge plate and how many electrodes are used. The purpose of this study is to determine the estimation of plate requirements based on marking, to find out the difference between the comparison between marking and actual plate requirements, and to determine the needs of electrodes in the process of replacing TK plates. Pegasus 5. Which is used as a reference for determining material so as not to suffer losses and to achieve the effectiveness and efficiency of material use. This research is a quantitative research, in this study there are several variables. Based on the research objectives, the results obtained for the estimation of the use of plates for the replating bottom of the Pegasus 5 barge as many as 10 sheets with a plate size of 6096 x 1828 and a thickness of 12 mm. With a comparison difference of 7.7%, and the number of electrodes needed is 236.032 kg or 48 packs.

Abstract

Pneumatic systems are systems that use air as a propellant and are used in todays computerized systems. The task will use a pneumatic machine to manually open and near the door with sensors and buttons. design and model fluid simulators from Festo to attain the preferred aerodynamic design. Diagram of pneumatic system consistent with its operating. System used double appearing cylinder 5/2 solenoid valve 5/3 control valve photoelectric sensor magnetic sensor push button compressor & electric powered. The tool is geared up with an electrical and passive circuit that acts as a damper piston solenoid valve that activates a photoelectric sensor to open the door and a magnetic sensor to connect the voltage to the motor. A manual gadget can be used the use of ahead and reverse buttons in case of strength failure while last the door. The results of this study display that photoelectric sensors and magnetic sensors can be used to show a button right into a switch that turns off or adds cutting-edge to an electromagnetic-type electricity source. capturing with flash is hard. It additionally has a mechanical activation characteristic thru a button that without difficulty opens and closes the door inside the event of a power failure.

Abstract

Fresh water is an important requirement in fixed or moving structures such as ships. One way to provide fresh water is through a hydrophore system. Hydrophore was chosen as an alternative to public water tower systems because water towers were considered less aesthetically pleasing. Another consideration is that every part of the ship should be taken care of so that it does not interfere with the performance of the ship. The ship chose the hydrophore system because this system is dimensionally more practical when compared to a water tower. The installation of a water basin on a ship must take into account the number of turns and valves in the outlet pipe. A hydrophore simulation tool with many bends and valves is required to predict the adequacy of water demand on board. This research was conducted to determine the conditions and obtain the specifications from the hydrophore system. The support created consists of 3 turns and 1 valve. The bus emission specification is 9x10-3 m3 with an inlet pipe flow rate of 391x10-6 m3/s and an outlet pipe flow rate of 343282x10-3 m3/s. Major head loss is 21x10-3 m and minor head is 0.7 m.

Abstract

Fish is the main product of marine catches which is widely consumed to meet food needs. Fish is a product that is easily damaged or spoiled, especially at room temperature conditions. Transport must be carried out with care so that fishery products are not exposed to high temperatures during loading and transportation of transport vehicles. One thing that needs to be considered in using a box truck fleet as a means of transportation for transporting frozen fish is choosing the right cooling machine capacity. This study aims to calculate the cooling load on box trucks for transporting frozen fish. With the resulting total cooling load and the proportion of cooling load can be a consideration in selecting the cooling machine used in the car cooler. From the existing analysis data, the total cooling load of a frozen fish transport truck box with box dimensions of 250cm x 170cm x 165cm and a total load of 1200kg of fish is 5531 Watts. The cooling machine recommended for use in frozen fish transport box trucks requires a cooling machine with a power of 2 PK.

Abstract

This study has a purpose to investigate the implementation of google classroom to teach writing and the cadet’s opinions about the writing instruction through google classroom. This was a descriptive qualitative study that used interviews and questionnaires to collect the data. The sample of this study was the cadets of ship mechanical engineering of Ivet University in the academic year 2022/2023. The results of interviews and the results of cadet’s questionnaires were collected and then analyzed descriptively. The result of this study indicated that 1) the cadets at Ship mechanical engineering conducted several steps in implementing google classroom to teach writing, including opening the class, conducting a main activity, conducting an assessment, closing the lesson, and conducting follow-up activities, 2) the cadets had positive opinions about writing instruction that was implemented through google classroom.

Abstract

The case study on the tugboat award 1 experienced problems with the propeller which made it possible to be out of balance. The purpose of this research is to find out the causes of unbalanced propellers on ships and how to overcome them. The use of research methods using observation, interviews and data analysis by observing, reviewing and analyzing objects or problems that will be examined directly so that the data obtained is objective because the author experienced it himself and was at the ship docking location when the work of the propeller was not perfect. From the data obtained, then an analysis of descriptive qualitative methods was carried out. The results of this study state that the unbalanced propeller is caused by fouling, erosion, cracks, and deformation of the propeller blades. Possible triggering factors include long absence of maintenance, old components, and negligence in operation. An unbalanced propeller if not handled immediately is feared to cause damage to other components such as damage to the stern tube which results in leaks and can endanger the ship.

Abstract

Working on a ship might make people see something more than others, for example, high salaries continue to be able to go see new places for free and so on. The author who is a ship captain must be able to provide a sense of security to his crew, manage crews who come from various countries which of course have different characteristics and so on. However, the most important thing here is how can a captain be able to compliance and provide understanding to his subordinates about understanding SOP so that work accidents can be minimized. Referring to the above, here I am conducting research on understanding K3 and observing SOPs on the level of work accidents on Swissco Garnet ships, the company Allianz Shimanagement LLC. The research method here I use a quantitative approach with explanatory research. The results of the study show that compliance with OSH and understanding of SOP is closely related to the level of work accidents on the AHTS Swissco Garnet ship in the company Allianz SHipmanagement LLC. And it is hoped that from the results of this study the author can provide an understanding to the crew that understanding K3 and complying with the SOP that has been made by the company is also a tool that can prevent someone from work accidents.

Abstract

Shipping safety is a must, it is an obligation for everyone to carry it out. And the fulfillment of safety facilities is a must that must be carried out or fulfilled by shipping companies. Shipping safety is inseparable from the people on board, namely the Ship's Crew (ABK), namely people who become the crew of the ship and the Nakoda as its leader. This study aims to prove the relationship between the level of knowledge and the fulfillment of shipping safety facilities. . The study used 5 ships and 61 samples and analyzed using kai squared . The results of the study show that there is a significant relationship between the level of knowledge and the fulfillment of shipping safety facilities.

Abstract

A level switch is a device that detects the height or level of a volume of liquid in a tube or tank, we take an example, for example a level switch is installed in a water tank to detect the amount or volume of fuel entering the tank, then this device is connected to a pumping machine. fuel, when the volume of fuel in the tube has reached a certain level (high) and is detected by the sensor, the level switch sensor will work because the front of the level switch is submerged in oil, at that time the level switch will instruct the fuel pump engine to stop rotating, in the sense that the level switch will cut off the flow of current leading to the pumping machine. The level switch system has a fairly simple way of working. When the oil reaches half of the lower ballast (low level) then two sinkers will hang where the total weight will be able to pull the switch on the switch body at the top. The switch that is attracted to the ballast will make the relay contact close and electric current will flow through the cable to the fuel control engine which then starts and fills fuel into the tank until it reaches a high level.
