Abstract

The research used several methods, namely the methods of collecting data, interview and observation. The aim of the research is to find out the religious and aesthetic values of Baris Kekuwung dance. Baris Kekuwung dance serves as Tari Wali, because the dance is sanctified by the community of Sandakan customary village. The dance is only performed in a Balinese Hindu ritual called Mapag Toya at the village’s Masceti temple. The aesthetic values of Baris Kekuwung dance consist of the dance element and the element of its accompanying traditional music or gamelan. The elements of art that exist and support a film include fine arts, photography, architecture, dance, literary poetry, theater, music, poetry and novels. The most interesting part is when Kanji Lalji Mehta (Paresh Lawal) sue God to court. Are there people in the world who dare to bring God to justice? This is a difficult and crazy thing to imagine, of course, there is no human who doubts the power of God to dare to fight His power with actions that are equal to human actions. But this is what Kanji Lalji Mehta did.

Abstract

This paper will outline the position of Hans Georg Gadamer's thoughts about Hermeneutics, among the sciences. Hermeneutics Gadamer becomes important to acquire knowledge, because beside the hermeneutics, there are also other methods of acquiring knowledge. In essence, science only provides an explanation that is limited in nature, and limits to the goals or in certain fields. Likewise, when there is an absolute reversal of one method, at the same time, philosophy as a critical science is turned off, because the person not able to answer the radical methods. In other words, it is believed that science only studies in very limited terms and not in-depth. Because of that fact, philosophy is here to give a radical foundation on how to solve life's problems, including science. Keywords: hermeneutics, sciences, science.
