Abstract

This study aims to determine the extent of the role of the scout movement in developing Christian values ​​at My Little Island (MLI) Elementary School Malang. This nature of this research is quantitative research. The variable was singular: the role of scout movement in developing christian values in My Little Island (MLI) Elementary School Malang. The sampling method was purposive sampling. Close questionnaires, utilizing google forms, were distributed for data collection. The samples of this research were all christian boys and girls, catholics and protestants, of 4th – 6th Grade of MLI. The method for data analysis was descriptive quantitative. As the research concluded, the overall score regarding the role of the scout movement in empowering the christian values at MLI was 4.22. This result corresponded in the interval of 4.21-5.00, which was very good. Based on the result, MLI was recommended to continue integrating the scout movement or other similar programs for it was proven that such activities were effective in developing christian values of the students in practical level. Qualitative research with direct observations and interviews with key informants should be conducted to complement this research.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to explore the fundamental aspects of catechesis among the people. It turns out that homily or preaching can be absorbed inadvertently if the pastoral team promotes "Kotew" spirituality. “Kotew” in the Manyaan and Tewoyan Tribes, Kandui, Central Kalimantan is defined as “stopping by” or “hanging out”. Bevans, a contextual theologian looking at one's understanding of God's Revelation, one's attitude to human experience, one's understanding of the normativity of Scripture or tradition, one can choose to enter into a critical dialogue between the past and the present in his opinion. This study finds out that "Kotew" needs to be promoted among the pastoral workers of St. Peter Canisius parish in Kandui. When sermons, meditations, lectures deep in meaning just stop at the altar, people of Kandui feel the “warmth of brotherhood” brought by “Kotew”. The main context of the research is the parishioners of St. Peter Canisius, Kandui. Mission development, both in terms of quantity and quality, continues at St. Peter Canisius, Kandui. This parish just became an independent parish in 2013. The SMM congregation was entrusted by the Bishop of Palangka Raya to open the mission there. This parish was already prepared to become a parish in 1999. However, administratively and independently, Kandui only became a parish in 2013. The methodology used by the author in this paper is a qualitative method, namely phenomenology. These research’s sources are the lives of faith of the believers.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to deepen the knowledge of God in the experience of human life every day so that His paradoxical existence does not stop humans from getting to know Him more. This research has four problem formulations. First, how do young Catholics understand hope? Second, how do young Catholics understand the faith? Third, how do young Catholics experience God when faced with life's difficulties and sufferings? Fourth, what makes young Catholics hope and believe in God until now? This study uses a descriptive research method with a qualitative approach. The informants of this study were 13 young Catholics who had various educational and work backgrounds, places of residence, and ages. The data collection techniques used were interviews via Facebook and Instagram and sharing google forms questions via email. The results of this study indicate that hope is understood as the gripping force of human life. While faith is the basis of hope and trust in God which enables a person to experience His presence and help in dealing with the difficulties and sufferings of life. Thus, young Catholics hope and believe in God in life, even though the reality is not always easy. This study found that knowing God will only be experienced if a person has a good and deep understanding of hope and faith in his life's pilgrimage in this world.

Abstract

The study aims to know and analyze the effects of innovative active learning methods that are effective in the most fun and Bahasa, known as the PAIKEM method, judging by learners' academic achievements. The research question is how using innovative, innovative learning methods is particularly pleasant to students' academic achievements in Catholic religious education lesson in class VIII B at a private secondary school Saint Xaverius 2, Kabanjahe. Data is collected from interviews, observation and documentation. The research key informants consist of school teachers, Catholic religious education teachers, and students themselves. An object of research as primary data of the study is the effect of Active, Innovative, Creative, Effective and Fun (PAIKEM) learning methods on the academic achievements of the students. Collected data from the fields will be analyzed using a qualitative approach to reproduce data displays and to conclude research data. To quantify the validity of data research researchers used triangulation both in techniques and sources. Research indicates that the use of PAIKEM learning method brings about a positive impact on the students' academic achievements. The challenge for now is the online study (because of the pandemics). Regardless, it is expected that both online learning and face-to-face learning will be implemented, also in the future.

Abstract

This article aims to build a model of pastoral spirituality that is suitable for catechists in today's digital era. This is important, so that the catechist has a spirit or spirit that is in accordance with his time. In addition, catechists are those who are involved in the work of preaching and accompanying the people. For preaching and pastoral work to be effective, they need a new way of presenting themselves. In an effort to form a model of pastoral spirituality, the author conducted a qualitative research using the documentation method. Data were collected by finding and reading documents and writings that were related to the theme. Then, came the process of analyzing and interpreting the data collected. The result was that the digital age brought within itself both opportunities and challenges for catechists. These challenges demand appropriate models of pastoral spirituality. There are two models of spirituality suitable for the digital era, namely incarnatory pastoral spirituality, and temperance. These two models of spirituality are important, so that God, who is the core of the catechist's preaching, can be understood more by the people. Moreover, thanks to the incarnatory spirit and sophistication, catechists can influence people to have more faith in God.

Abstract

The first purpose of this study is to determine the factors that influence the entrepreneurial spirit of individual, psychological and contextual characteristics. The second goal is to verify the attitude and contextual factors that influence students to form an entrepreneurial spirit. The third research objective is to ascertain what STPKat Semarang students own entrepreneurial characteristics are. The research method used is a descriptive method that describes the current phenomena in STPKat St. Fransiskus Assisi, using a quantitative approach and Likert Analysis Method. Some discoveries in this study are 62% of the factors that form the entrepreneurial spirit come from the demographic characteristics of age and status; 72% come from the traits possessed by a person; 82% come from contextual factors in the form of entrepreneurial training and a strong intention to become a Catholic teacher with business(-es) as second income. Attitude and contextual factors influence self-concept by 73%; in terms of interest in entrepreneurship by 88%. Entrepreneurial traits are shown in self-confidence by 82%; increasing results by 83%; taking risks by 75%; leadership by 83%; 77% originality and 79% future-oriented. Self-confidence, focus-on-results and leadership are entrepreneurial traits found in most of STPKat Santo Fransiskus Asisi Semarang students.
