Abstract

This article examines the impact of the Regional Minimum Wage, Average Length of Schooling, and Economic Growth on Labor Absorption in Takalar District. This research is a quantitative study with an explanatory approach. Data used obtained from the Central Statistics Agency of South Sulawesi Provins.. The data analysis technique used was the Multiple Linear Regression model. The results showed that the Regional Minimum Wage had a positive and significant effect on labor absorption in Takalar Regency; the average length of schooling has a positive but insignificant effect on labor absorption in Takalar Regency; and the economic growth has a negative and insignificant effect on employment in Takalar Regency. The results of this study emphasize the importance of increasing the minimum wage which is expected to affect the purchasing power of the community which results in increased demand. The government is also expected to prioritize education and skills in improving the quality of human resourcesKeywords: Wages, Education, Economic Growth, Labor Absorption, Takalar Regency.Artikel ini mengulas dampak Upah Minimum Regional, Rata-Rata Lama Sekolah, dan Pertumbuhan Ekonomi terhadap Penyerapan Tenaga Kerja di Kabupaten Takalar. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan pendekatan eksplanatori. Data diperoleh dari Badan Pusat Statistik Provins Sulawesi Selatan. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah model Regresi linear. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa upah minimum regional berpengaruh secara positif dan signifikan terhadap penyerapan tenaga kerja di Kabupaten Takalar; rata-rata lama sekolah berpengaruh positif namun tidak signifikan terhadap penyerapan tenaga kerja di Kabupaten Takalar; danl pertumbuhan ekonomi berpengaruh negatif dan tidak signifikan terhadap penyerapan tenaga kerja di Kabupaten Takalar. Hasil penelitian ini menekankan pentingnya peningkatan upah minimun yang diharapkan akan mempengaruhi daya beli masyarakat yang mengakibatkan permintaan menjadi meningkat. Pemerintah juga diharapkan dapat memprioritaskan pendidikan dan keterampilan dalam peningkatan kualitas daya manusia Kata Kunci: Upah, Pendidikan, Pertumbuhan Ekonomi, Penyerapan Tenaga Kerja, Kabupaten Takalar.

Abstract

The increasing production of the agricultural sector in Bulukumba Regency makes the agricultural sector a dominant contribution in the formation of the economic structure, and has a significant influence on the absorption of labor. Agriculture as a labor-intensive sector in absorbing labor does not require high educational qualifications so that the population's dependence on this sector remains high. In addition to the orientation of increasing agricultural production for food security, it also provides broad access to employment opportunities. Meanwhile, the industrial sector as the leading sector is expected to continue to grow and strengthen the agricultural sector. The industrial sector in Bulukumba Regency has a significant influence on employment. Industrial growth and diversification is very important to be developed to maximize its potential and can absorb a more massive workforce in the next period. Keywords: Agriculture, Industry, Labor Absorption.

Abstract

This study aims to see whether there is an effect of unemployment, education level, minimum wage, and capita expenditure on poverty in Makassar City. This research is a type of quantitative research. The data used are secondary data with the type of annual time series data in the 2008-2018 (10 years) period obtained from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS). The data analysis technique used in this study is multiple regression analysis using SPSS version 21, this model shows how much influence occurs between the independent variables on the dependent variable. The results of this study indicate that the unemployment variable, the education level, the minimum wage, and the per capita expenditure have a positive and significant effect on poverty in Makassar City. The implication of this research requires efforts from various parties to improve the performance of education in increasing the standard of living of the community, especially for the poor. Especially the government must improve and optimize access to education for the vulnerable to the poor. In addition, a better minimum wage increase, and comprehensive collaboration among stakeholders for poverty alleviation.Keywords: Unemployment, Education Level, Minimum Wage, PovertyPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat pengaruh pengangguran, tingkat pendidikan, upah minimum, dan pengeluaran per kapita terhadap kemiskinan di Kota Makassar. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian kuantitatif. Adapun data yang digunakan yaitu data sekunder dengan jenis data deret waktu tahunan dalam periode 2008-2018 (10 tahun) yang diperoleh dari Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS). Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis regresi berganda dengan menggunakan SPSS versi 21, dari model ini menunjukkan berapa besar pengaruh yang terjadi antara variabel independen terhadap variabel dependen. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa variabel pengangguran, tingkat pendidikan, upah minimum, dan pengeluaran per kapita berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kemiskinan di Kota Makassar. Implikasi dari penelitian ini yakni diperlukan upaya dari berbagai pihak untuk meningkatkan performa pendidikan dalam meningkatkan taraf hidup masyarakat, terutama bagi golongan miskin. Terkhusus pemerintah harus meningkatkan dan mengoptimalkan akses pendidkan sampai ke kaum rentan miskin. Selain itu peningkatan upah minimum yang lebih baik, dan kolaborasi yang menyeluruh antar stakeholder untuk pengentasan kemiskinan.Kata kunci: Pengangguran, Tingkat Pendidikan, Upah Minimum, Kemiskinan

Abstract

This study describes the effect of exchange rates on the trade balance, inflation, foreign debt, unemployment and economic growth.  Data sourced from BPS and Indonesian Bank. This study uses multiple linear regression analysis. The results of statistical tests show the direct effect of the independent variable on the dependent variable, namely, the exchange rate variable has a negative effect on the trade balance, other than inflation and economic growth in Indonesia.  On the other hand, the effect of the exchange rate on foreign debt has a positive and significant effect. Furthermore, the indirect effect is shown by the effect of exchange rates on the economic growth variable through the trade balance variable which shows the negative effect, then the exchange rate also has a negative effect on economic growth through the inflation rate, and finally the exchange rate has a negative effect on economic growth through foreign debt.  Thus, a serious effort is needed to maintain the stability of the rupiah exchange rate considering its considerable impact on finding that imported raw materials are one of the factors that influence exchange rate fluctuations to become uncontrollable. In addition, the balance of payments deficit is controlled through foreign insurance, not the best solution in maintaining exchange rate stability.Keywords: Exchange Rate, Trade Balance, Inflation, External Debt, Economic Growth

Abstract

Human capital is a basic element in the progress of economic development, and superior human beings are believed to be a fundamental factor in determining the level of income of the population of a country or region. This study aims to determine the effect of human capital variables on workers' wages in Makassar City. The variable are total population, school participation rate, and net enrollment rate. To analyze this effect, multiple regression models are used with the ordinary least square (OLS) method. The results show that the total population has a significant effect on worker wages, while the school participation rate and net enrollment rate do not have a significant effect on worker wages. Consistent government efforts are needed to boost school enrollment rates and net enrollment rates. This effort is expected to be one of the factors in increasing the quality of the population so as to increase worker productivity in Makassar City.Keywords: Human Capital, Worker’s Wage, OLS, Makassar CityModal manusia merupakan elemen dasar dalam kemajuan pembanguan ekonomi, dan manusia yang unggul diyakini sebagai faktor yang fundamental dalam menentukan tingkat pendapatan penduduk suatu negara maupun wilayah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh dari variabel-variabel modal manusia terhadap upah pekerja di Kota Makassar. Adapun variabel yang dimaksud antara lain Jumlah Penduduk, Angka Partisipasi Sekolah, dan Angka Partisipasi Murni. Untuk menganalisis pengaruh tersebut digunakan model regresi berganda dengan metode ordinary least square (OLS). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Jumlah Penduduk berpengaruh signifikan terhadap Upah Pekerja, sedangkan Angka Partisipasi Sekolah dan Angka Partisipasi Murni tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap Upah Pekerja. Perlu upaya pemerintah yang konsisten untuk memacu angka partisipasi sekolah, dan angka partisipasi murni. Upaya tersebut diharapkan dapat menjadi salah satu faktor dalam peningkatan kualitas penduduk sehingga dapat meningkatkan produktivitas pekerja di Kota MakassarKata kunci: Modal Manusia, Upah Pekerja, OLS, Kota Makassar

Abstract

The budget allocation for poverty alleviation is getting bigger from time to time. However, the poverty rate did not change significantly. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of poverty programs that have been initiated by the government, through programs (KUBE, PANSIMAS, BUNDES, PNPM, and P2KP), which are believed to improve poverty alleviation efforts in Manyampa Village, Ujung Loe District, Bulukumba Regency. The research method used in this research is quantitative research, with the AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) analysis method. Data collection techniques were obtained from questionnaires or primary data sources, while secondary data were obtained from reports from BPS South Sulawesi, BPS Bulukumba, District Offices and related agencies in Bulukumba Regency. The novelty of this study is to explore further and evaluate what programs are quite effective in reducing poverty rates, with the help of expert choice with a consistency test. The results of this study indicate that in poverty alleviation efforts, the P2KP program is the most effective in reducing poverty with small business empowerment-based programs, while from community empowerment-based programs, the PANSIMAS program is more consistent than other programs in poverty alleviation efforts. P2KP and the PANSIMAS program each got a score of 0.02<0.1. It can be interpreted that the Inconsistency ratio <0.1 (the maximum limit) is also tested to be consistent, it's just that the achievement is lower than other programs. The implication of this research is that the local government needs to further evaluate ineffective poverty alleviation programs so that budget misallocations do not occur and are able to accelerate effective poverty alleviation programs that have been running. Keywords: Poverty, Program, Efectiveness

Abstract

Changes in economic sectors are interrelated parts and constitute a fundamental element in achieving regional development targets. This study aims to analyze the transformation of the economic structure of the Soppeng Regency. The data used are GRDP data of Soppeng Regency and South Sulawesi Province in 2011-2018. The analysis technique used is Location Quotient analysis and Shift Share Analysis. The results showed that the economy of Soppeng Regency during the observation period experienced an economic transformation from potential sectors to progressive sectors. The quadrant analysis shows that the transportation and warehousing sector as well as the corporate service sector are sectors that are experiencing rapid growth. However, based on the results of the net shift (NS) calculation, it shows that in aggregate the economy in Soppeng Regency is included in the non-progressive Category (slow).Keywords: Transformation of economy structure, Soppeng Regency, Shift Share, Loqation Quotient.Perubahan sektor-sektor ekonomi merupakan bagian yang saling terkait dan merupakan elemen fundamental dalam pencapaian target pembangunan daerah. Abstract

The coastal area of East Sebatik District, Nunukan Regency has considerable marine and fishery potential in the fisheries sub-sector, especially marine fish catching, the development of capture fisheries production. This article tries to describe some of the determinants of fishermen's income in Tanjung Harapan Village, East Sebatik District. The type of research used in this research is quantitative research, with an explanatory approach. This primary data was obtained from a questionnaire distributed to respondents, namely fishermen in Tanjung Harapan Village, then the data was processed using the Excel program and then processed using the Eviews 9 application with the multiple linear regression analysis method. The results showed that the cost of fuel oil, the number of workers, technology, and time at sea had a positive and significant effect on the income of fishermen in Tanjung Harapan Village. Meanwhile, work experience has a positive but not significant effect on fishermen's income. The results of the research are expected to be useful in formulating policies and strategies to increase the income of fishermen in Tanjung Harapan Village, East Sebatik District.Keywords: Fisherman Income, Fishery Technology, East Sebatik

Abstract

This article examines the effect of business capital, wages and labor on the level of furniture production in Jeneponto Regency for the period 2015-2019. This research is a quantitative research with an explanatory approach. In this study, there are four variables that will be related to the extent to which the relationship between the variables related to the independent variables affects each other. The variables in question are business capital, wages, labor and production of all business units in Jeneponto Regency. Processing data from the regression equation can be seen with the Ordinary Least Square Method. By using the SPSS software program. The results of this study indicate that business capital and labor have a significant positive effect both partially and simultaneously on the level of furniture production in Jeneponto Regency. The increase of the three variables (business capital, wages and labor) will have a positive impact on efforts to increase mabel production in Jeneponto Regency.Keywords: Furniture Production, Jeneponto Regency, Business Capital, Wages, LaborArtikel ini mengulas tentang pengaruh modal usaha, upah dan tenaga kerja terhadap tingkat produksi mebel di kabupate jeneponto periode 2015-2019. Pada penelitian ini terdapat empat variabel yang akan saling dihubungkan sejauh mana hubungan variabel terkait dengan variabel bebas tersebut saling mempengaruhi. Variabel-variabel yang dimaksud yaitu modal usaha, upah, tenaga kerja dan produksi dari semua unit usaha yang ada di wilayah kabupaten jeneponto. Pengolahan data-data dari persamaan regresi dapat diketahui dengan Metode Kuadrat Kecil. Dengan menggunakan program software SPSS. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa modal usaha, dan tenaga kerja berpengaruh signifikan positif baik secara parsial maupun secara simultan terhadap tingkat produksi mebel di Kabupaten Jeneponto. Peningkatan dari ke tiga variabel (modal usaha, upah dan tenaga kerja) akan memeberikan dampak positif terhadap upaya peningkatan produksi mabel di Kabupaten Jeneponto.Kata Kunci: Produksi Mebel, Kabupaten Jeneponto, Modal Usaha, Upah, Tenaga Kerja.

Abstract

Ownership of insurance for informal workers is an important part that accommodates various professions or occupations in participating in the national health insurance program for workers in Indonesia. This study aims to determine the factors that influence the ownership of BPJS Employment insurance on informal sector workers in Makassar City. This study uses quantitative methods. The number of samples is 70 informal workers in the city of Makassar with the sampling technique used is purposive sampling while the data collection techniques are observation, questionnaires and documentation. For binary logistic regression analysis method. The results of this study indicate that income and education factors have a significant effect on BPJS Employment insurance ownership for informal sector workers in the city of Makassar. Meanwhile, age and number of Family have no significant effect on BPJS Employment insurance ownership in the informal worker sector in Makassar City. Keywords: Insurance Ownership, BPJS, Informal Workers, Logistic Binner
