Abstract

South Sulawesi is a province consisting of several regencies/cities. To understand well the HDI of South Sulawesi, it takes a good understanding of the HDI situation of each Regency/City. The HDI situation which continues to increase from year to year can be used as an indicator to measure success in human development efforts. HDI can also determine the ranking or level of development of a region/country. This study aims to determine the factors that have a significant effect on HDI and to find out the best panel data regression model for HDI in South Sulawesi. The method used in this study is panel data regression analysis with the Generalized Linear Mixed Model (GLMM) approach. The results showed that the variable life expectancy (AHH), average length of school (RLS) and per capita expenditure (PP) had a significant effect on the human development index (HDI) in South Sulawesi Province in 2014-2018.Keywords: HDI, Panel Data Regression, Generalized Linear Mixed Model.

Abstract

Poverty and economic growth are important indicators to measure the achievement of regional development. To achieve inclusive development, each region will strive to optimize economic growth and reduce poverty. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of population and unemployment on economic growth poverty in South Sulawesi Province. This research is a type of quantitative research, using path analysis method. The results of the study found that the population has a direct and significant negative effect on poverty. Unemployment has a direct positive effect on poverty although it is not significant. Meanwhile, population and unemployment directly have a negative and significant effect on economic growth. Poverty directly has a negative but not significant effect on economic growth.  Finally, population and unemployment have a significant indirect effect on economic growth through poverty in South Sulawesi Province. The economic growth of South Sulawesi Province has not been inclusive in reducing the unemployment rate and alleviating poverty in this area.Keywords: Population, Unemployment, Poverty, Economic Growth.

Abstract

Local Own-source Revenue is an important element in regional economic development. This study describes the contribution of various types of regional taxes and levies to Local Own-source Revenue in East Luwu Regency for the 2015-2019 period. This research is descriptive quantitative. The data used is secondary data sourced from the local Financial Management Agency of East Luwu Regency and the Central Statistics Agency of East Luwu Regency. The analytical method used is contribution analysis which is an analytical tool to find out how much the contribution of local taxes and levies to local revenue in East Luwu Regency. The results show that the contribution of local taxes as a whole gives a very good contribution to local revenue in East Luwu Regency, and the type of tax with the largest contribution to local revenue comes from taxes on non-metallic minerals and rocks. Meanwhile, the contribution of regional retribution as a whole still provides a very low level of contribution to regional original income in East Luwu Regency. Abstract

This study describes the factors that influence the supply of labor in the informal sector of Somba Opu District, Gowa Regency (the street vendor sub-sector) including hours of work, capital, education level, number of dependents and gender of the supply of labor in the informal sector. This research is a type of quantitative research with an explanatory approach using primary data. Primary data obtained from questionnaires distributed to respondents, namely street vendors in Somba Opu District, Gowa Regency as many as 47 respondents. This data was tabulated with the excel program and processed with the help of SPSS version 24 software. The results of the study through the multiple linear regression analysis method showed that there was a significant effect on the variables of working hours, capital and gender on the supply of labor in the informal sector. Meanwhile, the variables of education level and number of dependents did not significantly affect the supply of labor in the informal sector. Abstract

The welfare of the community can be measured by several indicators such as education, health, economy, employment, etc. It’s indicators that have been established as indicators of community welfare by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) that can support national development. This research aims to analyze the factors that influence the indicators of community welfare using the path analysis method. The results of the analysis show that health indicators significantly influence economic indicators, in this case GRDP and employment indicators which are measured through the workforce level with the scope of research is South Sulawesi.Keywords: Community Welfare, Education, Health, Labor Force, GRDP, Path Analysis

Abstract

Peningkatan pertumbuhan ekonomi menjadi tujuan utama setiap negara, sebab meningkatnya pertumbuhan ekonomi akan meningkatkan pendapatan masyarakat, dengan meningkatnya pendapatan maka kemampuan masyarakat dalam memenuhi kebutuhannya dapat terwujud. Adapun beberapa faktor yang diduga berpengaruh terhadap pertumbuhan ekonomi, diantaranya: ekspor, inflasi, utang luar negeri dan kurs. Oleh karena itu penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui apakah ekspor, inflasi dan utang luar negeri memiliki pengaruh terhadap pertumbuhan ekonomi melalui kurs. Dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode path analysis dimana analisis jalur (Path Analysis) merupakan pengembangan analisis multi regresi, sehingga analisis regresi dapat dikatakan sebagai bentuk khusus dari analisis jalur. Adapun data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah data sekunder yang bersifat time-series yang diperoleh dari laman web Badan Pusat Statistik Indonesia, Bank Indonesia dan Kementerian Keuangan Indonesia. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa variabel ekspor berpengaruh negatif dan tidak signifikan terhadap pertumbuhan ekonomi. Adapun variabel inflasi berpengaruh positif dan tidak signifikan terhadap pertumbuhan ekonomi. Kemudian variabel utang luar negeri berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap pertumbuhan ekonomi. Sedangkan variabel kurs berpengaruh negatif dan signifikan terhadap pertumbuhan ekonomi. Dengan demikian, perlu sikap reaktif pemerintah dalam meningkatkan pertumbuhan ekonomi agar kesejahteraan masyarakat dapat terwujud.

Abstract

This study is a study that aims to determine the effect of population, economic growth, and consumption of renewable energy on CO2 emissions in Indonesia. The type of data used in this study is secondary data and is time-series data from 1990-to 2019. The method of analysis in this study is the Error Correction Model (ECM) which aims to determine the existence of short-term and long-term relationships between the analyzed variables. Based on the results of data analysis conducted in this study, it can be concluded that in the short term population and consumption of renewable energy have no effect on CO2 emissions in Indonesia, while economic growth has a positive effect on CO2 emissions in Indonesia. In the long term, the results obtained are that population and economic growth have a positive effect on CO2 emissions in Indonesia, while consumption of renewable energy has no effect on CO2 emissions in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether labor, education level, and poverty affect economic growth in West Sulawesi Province. This research uses quantitative research. The data processing technique uses multiple linear regression through the SPSS 26 program. Secondary data is derived from historical records or reports arranged in published archives from 2006-2021. The results of this study indicate that the workforce has a positive and significant impact on economic growth in the Province of West Sulawesi. Furthermore, the level of education has a negative and significant effect on economic growth. Meanwhile, the poverty rate has no significant impact on economic growth.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the number of family members and education on the consumption patterns of poor households in Lembang District, Pinrang Regency. The type of research used is quantitative research with an explanatory approach. The data used in this study are secondary data and primary data with a total of 30 respondents. The research technique used is documentation and semi-structured interviews related to this research. The test was carried out using multiple linear regression analysis using SPSS version 25 software. The conclusion obtained in this study is that the number of family members has a positive and significant effect on the consumption pattern of poor households. Education has no significant effect on the consumption pattern of poor households. However, simultaneously the number of family members and education have a significant effect on the consumption patterns of poor households.

Abstract

Mainstream online shopping through various shopping sites continues to increase in the variety of products offered. This study aims to determine the determinants of the level of demand for products offered online. This research is Quantitative Research with an explanatory approach. This research was conducted in Makassar City by involving 50 respondents randomly but with the criteria of having an online shopping experience. Data collection techniques using a questionnaire. Giving a score with a Likert Scale technique. The data analysis technique used is multiple linear regression with the help of E-Views version 9.0 software. The results showed that product quality), price, substitution price, and taste had a positive and significant effect on the demand for online products in Makassar City. Meanwhile, the price of substitute goods has no significant effect on the demand for online products in Makassar City. Indicators of Quality, Price, and Taste can be valuable inputs for online sellers to maintain and increase consumer confidence to be able to boost sales of their products.
