Abstract

A company will be able to survive if it has a good corporate image in the public. Public relations in every company is important to have the right strategies. To maintain coporate sustainibility, required relations between company with the community as an external public through community relations. PLN as a state company in charge of providing the power supply to all regions in Indonesia, run a community relations with the community in an area that has not received the power supply with Micro-hydro Power Plant (PLTMH) Programs. One of the PLTMH program is made in Lebak Picung. This study aims to determine the implementation of the community relations programs by PLN in Lebak Picung, as well as analyzing the relationship of community relations program with the process of corporate image building, and analyze the process of corporate image with PLN’s corporate image formed on community that received PLTMH program in Lebak Picung. Data is collected by census at all household and the respondents are the head of family or member who can represent of all members in the house. Data obtained thorough observation, in depth interviews and interviews using a questionnaire. The overall question in the quesionnaire using an ordinal scale then continued on correlations test. The results show the influence of respondent in the brand image building process is the judgementto the benefits. Respondent’s involvement in the program was not shown  to have influence in corporate image process.  In addition, there is a positive relationship between the process of corporate image that forms on the respondent. The more respondent rated PLTMH program provides positive benefits, the level of exposure, attentions and comprehensive of the responden are also tends to be high. Companies need to consider that the empowerment program should consider the needs of the targets, so the programs can be mutually beneficial. The company has a very positive image in the public so it maintain continuity of businessand community needs as program beneficiaries are met.

Abstract

Baitul Maal wa Tamwil (BMT) Swadaya Pribumi is Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) of local economic empowerment by PT Holcim Indonesia Tbk. Gender analysis is used as an analysis tools to see the success rate of BMT Swadaya Pribumi from a gender perspective by understanding the roles (division of labour) in the household, access, control to get resources (credit, training, and mentoring efforts), and the benefits for participants. Abstract

Upstream watershed is one of the sub-watersheds that serve to maintain the availability of water for the central and downstream region. So that, when damage occurs in that area, it will effect to the middle and lower area of the watershed. The purposes         of this study were (1) to determine the stakeholders who involved in the rescue of Citarum watershed upstream, (2) to know the effectiveness of participatory institutions to change attitudes and behavior of society around the Citarum watershed upstream. This study was conducted using a quantitative approach supported by qualitative approach. Meanwhile, the results of this study showed (1) institutional participatory have successfully changed   attitudes and behavior of society to not to dispose the household garbage and sewage into the river again (2) participatory institutional not yet managed to change the manner of private parties to not  to dispose garbage and industrial waste into the river, and (3) participatory institutions in central  are more effective to change society attitudes and behavior to be more concerned for the environment than the existing participatory institutions in the upstream. In generally, the participatory institutions have successfully established collaborative between public, private and government at the sub-watershed upstream.

Abstract

The study was done in two village, they are Cibatok I Village and Pangradin Village, The Bogor District of West Java, Indonesia.The purposes of this study were 1) to analyse and determine the impacts of the use of internet in teenagers characteristics to internet usage pattern in two villages 2) to analyze the socio-economic impact brought by internet usage pattern of teenagers in two villages.This study was approached by using quantitative method supported by qualitative method. Data obtained through observation, depth interviews and interviews using questionnaires. Meanwhile, the results of this study showed 1) The differences of internet usage pattern in the two villages 2) The availability of internet access in Cibatok I Village have made impacts to the socio-economic changes of teenagers life. Meanwhile, it is not clearly seen in teenagers live at Pangradin Village

Abstract

Transformasi ekonomi pedesaan tidak terkecuali juga dialami oleh komunitas nelayan suku Bajo. Transformasi yang dialami masyarakat Bajo saat ini juga merujuk pada perubahan masyarakat pedesaan berbasis pada pertumbuhan dan mekanisme kapitalis pasar. Mola adalah gambaran unik komunitas nelayan Bajo yang telah mengalami transformasi sosial dalam bentuk modernisasi. Kenyataan ini jauh berbeda Mantigola. Perubahan masyarakat Bajo kearah kapitalisme ditengarai oleh peran dari pertukaran ekonomi, dan penetrasi nilai-nilai yang dibawa oleh An Tje. Perubahan orientasi ekonomi ke arah kapitalisme juga disebabkan oleh peran besar dari orang Mandati yang adalah para kapitalis, yang memberikan iklim yang kondusif dalam berusaha. Sebaliknya, Bagi Bajo Mantigola, kemandekan ekonomi disebabkan adaptasi terhadap diskriminasi yang dilakukan oleh orang Kaledupa, pembatasan terhadap ruang nafkah oleh taman nasional, pelarangan untuk menangkap di perairan Australia, dan ketergantungan dari orang-orang Mola. Kemudian, agama juga menjadi faktor pendorong terjadinya kapitalisme di Mola. Kapitalisme lokal suku Bajo juga berkembang melalui etika, namun etika yang dianut oleh masyarakat Bajo Mola yang kapitalis lokal tidak seperti etika yang dianut oleh para kapitalis penuh ala masyarakat Barat yang sangat individualisme. Maka dengan melihat ranah sejarah tersebut, teori Weber lebih bisa menjelaskan sejarah munculnya kapitalisme di aras individu. Sementara teori Marx digunakan untuk memahami bentuk eksploitasi yang dilakukan oleh orang-orang Mola terhadap saudaranya, namun bukan seperti eksploitasi yang sangat serakah seperti yang diungkapkan oleh Marx, karena masih bercokolnya nilai-nilai tertentu yang mengatur kehidupan berekonomi ala suku Bajo

Abstract

In recent years many scenes of violence shown in films. Fights, beatings, murders, destructive, and harmful to others has always appeared in the film. Increasing the proportion of violent scenes in movies gave the negative influence of criticism for the audience.  Anxiety about the emergence of negative influence is increasing due to the characteristics of a predominantly adolescence audience. One of the alleged negative impact on adolescence movies is aggression behavior. The purpose of this study were (a) know the behavior of adolescents in watching violent films (b) know the behavior of adolescents in the act of aggression (c) analyze the relationship between adolescent behavior in watching violent films with aggression behavior. The research subjects were 45 student of SMK Pelita Ciampea, Bogor. Research data are analyzed using Chi Square with contingency coefficient (C) ranges from 0-1. Behavior watching violent films do not have a significant relationship with the behavior of adolescent aggression. Intensity factor to aggression behavior in the family environment, in the neighborhood and situational factors has a significant relationship to adolescent aggression behavior at ? 0.01 with 99 percent confidence interval so that a positive relationship. Intensity factor to aggression behavior by friends to have a significant  relationship with adolescent aggression behavior  at ? 0.05 with 95 percent confidence interval so that a positive relationship.

Abstract

Mangrove ecosystem has many benefits both ecological and economic terms because of the mangrove ecosystem is one that has an important role in efforts to make use of sustainable coastal and marine resources. Various alternatives can be made to the management of mangrove forests in accordance with the necessities of life, their ability and their views or perceptions of mangrove forests. But there are still errors in the use of mangrove ecosystems, such as exploiting the mangrove forest and convert it into ponds, residential, agricultural land, and so forth. Various activities are causing widespread decline in mangrove forests and also resulted in decreased function and mangrove benefits for residents and the surrounding environment. To restore function of damaged mangrove and benefits, it is necessary to the management efforts through the rehabilitation and conservation of mangroves. This study aims: (1) Reviewing the chronology of mangrove conversion into ponds that occur in the Village Karangsong, Indramayu District, Indramayu District, (2) Knowing the actors and their respective roles in the conversion process and the actors in the rehabilitation and conservation of mangroves, (3) Analyze perceptions of local residents towards the rehabilitation and conservation of mangroves and to know the perspective of rehabilitation and conservation activities in the conversion of existing conditions, (4) Knowing the shape and development of resident participation in mangrove rehabilitation efforts. The results showed that the conversion of mangrove was originally introduced by settlers from the Losari District, Cirebon. Over time, indirectly Karangsong Village residents to observe and study the fish farming in ponds, and also facilitates the Village Government Karangsong arise in the mangrove area of ??land to be used by residents as fishponds. The continued development of aquaculture fish and shrimp in the pond, the conversion of mangrove area also do so causes a decrease in mangrove forest area and also resulted in decreased function and mangrove benefits for residents and the surrounding environment. Growing mangrove destruction, making some local residents are aware and take the initiative to form a group that deal with rehabilitation of mangrove on the basis of consciousness that is one of the mangrove ecosystem plays an important role in the ongoing effort to make use of coastal resources, the sea and the surrounding residents. Most of the perceptions of respondents in the category of "Medium" is the perception by the number of scores obtained from scoring high in doubt of the existence of mangrove rehabilitation in conversion of the existing conditions in the Karangsong Village. It can affect their initiative to participate in rehabilitation activities. Village regulations regarding the management of mangrove protection areas are not so clearly known to the respondent. Of the 34 respondents interviewed, nearly all do not know what the Village Regulations

Abstract

The goals of this research are to analyze family, school, and society area that influence of student gender perception and then to know the different influence factors from it. This research has done in STEI TAZKIA. Generally, even though have the high education but the gender perception is still low. This reality has different with what happened in STEI TAZKIA. STEI TAZKIA students have the high gender perception. Those facts are the good reason to do research in STEI TAZKIA. The results of this research are student gender perceptions do not come from the family area, but student gender perception come from school and society area and there are different results from boy and girl students. The results of this research proofed that the influence boy students gender perception come from school area (from their teacher) and society area (from their friends), different with the girl students that the influence gender perception come from family area (from their mother).

Abstract

Indonesia is a developing country which has focused on development. The development and acceleration of economic growth that occurred in Indonesia has not been evenly distributed in every province. This gives rise to a phenomenon of population movement (migration) occurring in rural communities who migrate to urban areas which eventually give rise to a phenomenon of urban poverty. The purpose of this study was to identify the characteristics of poor communities urban areas and to identify social representations about the city in poor communities in urban areas. The characteristics of poor communities are generally aged between under 25 to more than 54 years old, the majority of respondents are women, and generally work in the informal sector. The level of education of respondents are elementary school level (SD) or equivalent to high school level (high school) or equivalent. The income that can be obtained by poor communities were Rp. 100.000.00 up to Rp.1.500.000.00 per month. Overall poor communities did rural-urban migration between 1970 until 2010. The reason was to find a job, looking for experience, come to join her parents and husband, and generally they spent a time in a location was between 1 to 30 years. The frequency of returning home is zero to more than 4 times in the past year. Most of them do not choose the location as the first residence in the city. There are 4 kinds of type of social representations about the city and the poor. The dominant type of social representations about city is type a place to earn money. Beside that, the dominant type of social representations about the poor is underprivileged person.

Abstract

The aim of this research are to evaluate how far the Second Water Sanitation for Low Income Communities (WSLIC-2) project appropriate with empowerment concept and to evaluate effectiveness, relevance, and sustainability impact of WSLIC-2 project which implemented in Pangradin village. Empowerment concept that used to analyze WSLIC-2 project design and its implementation in field are 10 principles Community Driven Development (CDD). As a project which based on community, WSLIC-2 project design has appropriated with 10 principles of CDD. The principles of CDD which related to concept of plan and construction phase  has implemented well in the field. But, the principle who related with concept of maintenances phase not yet implemented well in field. In general, WSLIC-2 project that conducted in Pangradin village assessed quite relevance, but not fully effective and the sustainability is still questionable. Optimization activity of CLTS   and strengthening structure of UPS are implementable in order to create a sustainable WSLIC-2 project.
