Abstract

Acquisition and merger were to increase synergy, restructuring business, increase shareholder and management wealth. The objectives of this study is to test trading volume activity, stock price, and performance firm (before and after acquisition & merger). The study analyze 31 cases of acquisition and merger during 1995 - 1998 time period in Jakarta Stock Exchange. Data collected from Business Data Center, The Anatomy of the Indonesian Stock Exchange, and Indonesian Capital Market Directory. To test the hypothesis, this study employ Paired Sample t-test. The result of study show that acquisition and merger is no difference trading volume activity and stock price, but performance firm is difference.

Abstract

Management Development (MD) is the interaction between individu and organization. This is a management and controlling process of management learning in organization with emphasis on strategic or long term activities, so it must be known impact of individual learning behavior and learning opportunity on individual performance. This article has identified four types of management development, Administrative MD, Derived MD, Leading MD, and Partner MD. The central challenge of management development is to control and manage the learning process of managers, focused on individual development and career success and/ or reaching orgnizational goals.

Abstract

The popular press often writes about the factory of the future: a fully automated factory that manufactures a wide variety of products without human intervention. Although some peopless factories do exits and others will be built, the major advances being made today occur in manufacturing operations where computers are being integrated into the process to help workers create high quality products. Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) is an umbrella term for the total integration of product design and engineering, process planning, and manufacturing by means of complex computer systems. Less comprehensive computerized systems for production planning, inventory control, or scheduling are often considered part of CIM. By using this powerful computer systems to integrated all phases of manufacturing, from initial customer order to final shipment, firms hope to increase productivity, improve quality, meet customer needs faster, and offer more flexibility.
