Abstract

Black Magi is a practice that uses supernatural powers for nefarious purposes. The practice of Black Magi is usually directed at others for various reasons, such as feelings of revenge, hate or for failing to have a girl, or simply testing the power of Black Magi science that a person who practices it has. The practice of Black Magi is usually intended to harm others, both physically and mentally. If a person is exposed to Black Magi, it can suddenly go crazy, the stomach enlarges, even until the body blisters, until it emits a foul smell and blood. The disease if it has been hit is difficult to cure. Diseases that are unpretentiously created by using the devil as a source of strength, it is very difficult to cure, so many are sick to chronic, even to death. The phenomenon of Black Magi practice is still found in Central Simeulue Subdistrict, Simeulue Regency, especially in Luan Sorip, Lauke, and Situfa Jaya Villages. the author is interested in further reviewing this. The study tries to explore how public figures view the practice of Black Magi and what efforts have been made to address it. This study is the result of field research using phenomenological approach. The data was obtained by direct observation and in-depth interviews with several community leaders, especially the victims' families. The results of this study are expected to find solutive alternatives that can be offered to the public, so that the Black Magi can at least be bridged, if it can not be eliminated.

Abstract

Plurality is understood as religious diversity in a society that is increasingly disturbing and undergoing friction. The Dayah clerics in Aceh view plurality as sunnatullah, but the plurality that is recognized is only limited to religious tolerance in the eyes of the syafii school. The research method in this study is field research with a qualitative approach. Data was collected by interviewing Tengku Dayah and campus intellectuals. In addition, data support was also carried out in the form of a literature study on the basis of the thoughts of figures related to Ulama Dayah and Islamic thinkers in Aceh. The results of the study concluded that the majority of Ulama Dayah rejected the plurality of sects more than the rejection of religious plurality. The Ulama Dayah contradicted and even forbade the congregation and their students from studying Islamic Thought. As a result, the treasures of Islamic thought in Aceh are hampered and can only be lived within the academic scope of the campus. If Islamic thinkers appear among the dayah, then they must contextualize according to the understanding and pattern of the Sunnah, otherwise Islamic thinkers will be rejected and even expelled from the majority congregation in Aceh.

Abstract

Talking about God has always been a topic of conversation among theologians. Karen Armstrong as a theologian tries to explain the existence of God. Her book entitled The History of God, Karen Armstrong describes in detail the existence of God in the history of human life. The book tells about Karen Armstrong's hesitation in finding the essence of the Trinity in the concept of Christian divinity. Karen Armstrong went through several phases in her skepticism to reach the essence of God in her faith. This paper will discuss Karen Armstrong's view of the Concept of God in Christian Religion using descriptive analysis of the book History of God. The results of the study show that in Christianity the concept of divinity exists in the Trinity, namely God the Father, God the Son and the Holy Spirit. Where Jesus Christ is considered as God because it is believed that Jesus is the Word who became human. The strengths and weaknesses of the Trinity in Christianity that are not understood by everyone. The history book about God examines the history of human perceptions and experiences of God from the time of Prophet Abraham to the present. Karen Armstrong explains in detail the three monotheistic religions, namely Judaism, Christianity and Islam. The book also features Buddhist, Hindu and Confucian traditions. For Karen Armstrong Religion is not about believing in something. Religion is a matter of morals, behaving in ways that change oneself, bringing oneself closer to the holy and sacred.

Abstract

Metaphysical theology is the study of God. God as the object of metaphysical study has a specificity compared to the other two objects of metaphysics. If the outward manifestation of the universe and the soul can be perceived by the senses, then the same is not true for the reality of divinity. God is something that cannot be grasped by the senses. Metaphysics that studies about God is called the philosophy of divinity (naturalist theology). If the philosophy of divinity makes God the final point or conclusion of the entire study, then revelation theology views God as the starting point for its discussion. The philosophy of divinity deals with proving the truth of the existence of God based on human reasoning. Divinity philosophy (naturalist theology) does not question the existence of God, the discipline only wants to underline that if there is no uncaused first cause, the relative-contingent position of objects cannot be understood by reason. From the above, there are several kinds of philosophical evidence that try to open the way to God; namely the proof of ontology, cosmology, teleology, morals, and this is at the same time an advantage of the philosophical approach compared to the approach of religion and other sciences. Science is limited to making descriptions based on empirical experience while religion departs from belief in one doctrine.

Abstract

The people of Aceh, which are known as the majority are Muslim, have various customs and traditions and cultures. However, some of the culture and customs of the Acehnese people do not come purely from Islam, but come from Hindu culture, such as Kenduri Blang, Kenduri Laot and Peusijuek culture. Peusijuek is a Hindu culture that has been Islamicized in accordance with Islamic law and has been carried out from generation to generation until now, the Islamization of Hindu culture occurred during the time of Sulthan Ali Mughayat Syah. The symbiotic relationship that occurred between the Acehnese people and the Hindu tradition had occurred thousands of years ago, because before Islam entered Aceh, Hinduism developed earlier in Aceh, so the culture used by the Acehnese at that time was Hindu culture, a symbiotic relationship. This was preceded by trade relations to establishing friendships between nations as well as resulting in cultural contact and inter-ethnic relations, which developed naturally in Aceh at that time. The method in this research is descriptive-qualitative. The data collection technique was carried out through interviews, observation, literature review by reading a number of books related to this research and documentation. The results showed that some of the Blang Bintang community acknowledged that the customs prevailing in Aceh were still influenced by Hindu culture. One of them is the peusijuek culture. The people of Blang Bintang believe that Peusijuek is a Hindu culture that has long developed in Aceh as a legacy from previous ancestors. However, things that are contrary to Islamic teachings have been adjusted after the Islamic Religion came and spread in Aceh.

Abstract

Social change after following suluk is a result that must be achieved by the salik. The change in question is a change in attitude for the better in everyday life after following suluk. This article also aims to find out how to internalize the value of suluk on salik in life and social changes in society, and in this case it is reviewed from one of the theories put forward by Peter Berger. by referring to three aspects, namely externalization, objectification and internalization. This article is a study using qualitative and descriptive approaches, in which informants are obtained by using purposive sampling method. To analyze this paper, the author certainly still uses a social construction theory in which changes in society do not happen by themselves but there are certain patterns that encourage and influence them. Based on the results of what the author has done, both in the form of initial assessments and also interviews with several salik, namely to achieve internalization of the values of suluk in salik who have participated in suluk both in Lueng Ie dayah and Tgk, Zulfan, must have an objectivation externalization stage. only then at the internalization stage. In salik who have participated in suluk, not all of them are able to absorb the values that are applied to suluk worship activities significantly, this is due to the influence of interaction patterns and the process of assimilation with the outside environment that is still happening, so that these values have not been applied comprehensively in the form of changes. attitudes and behavior in social life, and this is of course not as easy as turning the palm of the hand. The salik must strive with all their might so that the very high values of suluk worship can be slowly applied in life in the hope of becoming an example for themselves and their environment.

Abstract

In this study, the author focuses on the reconciliation between proclamation and openness, especially in Islam and Catholicism. This research is comparative research. Methods Data collection is done through a literature study. The perspective of comparative religion is taken to find the meaning of the encounter between the two teachings in Islam and Catholicism. This study finally came to the conclusion that both Islam and Catholicism have their own understanding and teachings regarding preaching and openness. In preaching, both religions believe that da'wah/mission is carried out as a form of transmitting teachings as well as carrying out Allah's commands (through the Prophet Muhammad and Jesus Christ). Both religions believe that their way is the truth. Differences in understanding are more visible in the motives for the openness of each religion. Three guidelines are needed in carrying out da'wah or preaching missions, namely the understanding that humans have ratios, the need for understanding the teachings of other religions, and the importance of an attitude of peace. One concrete activity that needs to be done is interreligious dialogue. When religious adherents adhere to and carry out these principles and activities, then everyone is able to continue carrying out the task of preaching (da'wah/mission) as well as being open to the reality of differences

Abstract

Dalail Khairat is one type of art that is very Islamic in Acehnese society, which consists of teachings and guidance that can set a person towards goodness and virtue or a medium of communication between a servant who prays and expresses his love for the Prophet. This research was conducted using a qualitative method that produces descriptive data with a phenomenological approach. The focus is on Dalail Khairat: Meaning and Poetry in Rejecting Wahhabism in Aceh. The method of data collection was done through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The study of Dalail Khairat: Meaning and Poetry in Rejecting Wahhabism in Aceh shows that Dalail Khairat contains many meanings that can be learned from Dalail Khairat's poem about life in society, as well as can have a positive impact on things that exist in society. One of the aspects of the life of the Acehnese people is to create an atmosphere of intimacy, away from community members from its influence on current social phenomena, and Dalail Khairat can be preserved throughout the ages so that Acehnese regeneration knows about Dalail Khairat and can also know what is being played in the art of Dalail Khairat. In addition, Dalail Khairat also contains values such as family values, unity values, deliberation values, educational values (educative) and cultural values.
