Abstract

Every child has characteristics and traits or innate characteristics (heredity) and characteristics obtained from environmental influences. Innate characteristics are hereditary characteristics that are owned since birth, both concerning biological factors and social psychological factors. Problematic children are children whose behavior does not follow school rules and regulations, these students tend to be inactive and unproductive at school, and ultimately have an impact on students' graduation. the problem. The above phenomenon is a motivation for the author in conducting research at Rokita Sari Bangun Purba Private Junior High School. Based on the results of the study, several conclusions were drawn as follows: a). The higher the level of family income, the less likely the child has problems in school from that family. b). The smaller the number of family members, the less likely the child will have problems at school. c). The more likely the child is in trouble at school if the father is not involved in the education and training of the child. If both parents are involved in the development and guidance of children's education, the less likely the child has problems. d). The type of work that parents do, such as mocok-mocok, has the greatest chance of having problems with their children at Rokita Sari Bangun Purba Private Junior High School.

Abstract

The ways, forms and content of education provided by parents to children will affect the growth and development and learning achievement of children, therefore parents should not be separated in fostering and developing all the potential of children in order to improve their children's learning achievement in the family environment by trying to create a good atmosphere and learning environment, which of course can affect learning achievement. In this study, the authors determined the population of students of class XII IPA and IPS Of Nurhasanah Medan Private High School who lived with parents as many as 38 people, the sample was determined as many as 30 people taken through random sampling techniques. To collect data, closed questionnaires are used, to obtain data on how parents educate and documentary studies to obtain student learning achievement. Respondents' answers are given a value by giving a value weight for option a given a value of 4, for option b is given a value of 3, and for option c is given a value of 2, and for option d is given a value of 1. To find a correlation between the way parents educate and learning achievement is used pearson product moment formula as follows : To test a hypothesis with a significant level of 5% or by using a belief level of 95% used a table r (correlation table) with a sample number of 30 people which is 0.361. Thus the result of the calculation obtained the value r = -0.24 cannot prove the hypothesis. The results of the conclusions in the study stated a negative relationship between the way parents educate and student learning achievement. So the author can conclude that the way parents educate good influences low on student learning achievement at Nurhasanah Medan Private High School.

Abstract

This research aims to find out the need for the application of the concept of Guidance and Counseling in teaching and learning activities in SMP Negeri 10 Medan., the ability and understanding of classroom teachers in applying the concept of Guidance and Counseling in teaching and learning activities in SMP Negeri 10 Medan., How the intensity of the application of guidance and counseling concepts in teaching and learning activities in SMP Negeri 10 Medan. The sample in this study is a classroom teacher found in SMP Negeri 10 Medan which amounted to 31 teachers who served in SMP Negeri 10 Medan., the data analysis technique used is content analysis or non-statistical analysis. Based on the data analysis, the results of the study are obtained as follows: In general, students in junior high school also urgently need Guidance and Counseling in teaching and learning activities., in general, teachers who serve in SMP Negeri 10 Medan, have understood and applied the concept of Guidance and Counseling in teaching and learning activities. well, career guidance in the category is quite good, the application of tutoring and the application of social guidance in the category is not good., in general, the reality of teachers who serve in SMP Negeri 10 Medan expects a special officer of Guidance and Counseling (BP teacher/Counselor).

Abstract

The problem in this study is: How to describe the difficulty of students working on triangular problems after the provision of cooperative learning. The goal to be achieved in this study is: getting an overview of the difficulty of students working on triangular problems after the provision of cooperative learning to tamansiswa Diski junior high school students. The population in this study is a student of class VII Tamansiswa Diski Junior High School who is actively enrolled which numbers 148 people. The determination of the sample of authors was done in a random way as many as 30 people taken from class VII students. The data collection tool used in this study is: The test that provides mathematical problems about the triangle as much as 10 points of the test form problem is an "essay test". Before this test is established as an instrument in the data collection in this study, it is first piloted to non-sample, to find out the validation of the test, the reliability of differentiating power and the difficulty level of the test. From the results of the discussion, the research conclusion was obtained that after the provision of cooperative learning the difficulties of students working on triangular problems can be overcome. The difficulties experienced by tamansiswa diski junior high school students are students: less able to distinguish the shapes of triangles, unable to use formulas, do not know the formula to find the circumference of the triangle, and do not use arcs.

Abstract

This research aims to illustrate the effectiveness of short story writing learning with modeling methods in private high school students of The Langkat Bahorok Regional Government compared to lecture methods. The population in this study was all students of class VIII of the Private High School Langkat Bahorok With a sample number of 20 people for each treatment. A research method is an experiment that compares between two groups given different treatment, in which case the experimental group is given short story writing learning with modeling methods and the control group is given learning by lecture method. From the distribution results obtained: (1) The experimental group that got learning to write short stories with modeling methods had an average value (Mean) of 74.75 and standard deviation (SD) of 15.66; (2) The control group that learned to write short stories with lecture methods had an average score (mean) of 62.5 and Standard Deviation (SD) of 10.97. Furthermore, from the calculation of the hypothesis test obtained greatly t hitung = 2,37 at a significance level of 5% price t tabel = 2,02 and to a degree 1% price t tabel = 2,71. Because of the price t hitung Bigger than t tabel (2,02 < 2,37 < 2,71), then the nil hypothesis (Ho) can be rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted, which means there is a significant influence between the learning outcomes of writing short stories with modeling methods and learning outcomes of writing short stories with lecture methods on students Private High School Langkat Bahorok.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the level of ability of students of State Junior High School 3 Mardingding in the ability to distinguish raw and non-standard Indonesian in Indonesian. The population of this study was 110 Mardingding State Junior High School students, and the study sample numbered 24 people who were taken randomly or randomly. This study uses descriptive methods. Data collection tool in the form of tests distinguishes the standard and not standard Indonesian as many as 70 questions. The data obtained is analyzed using percentage analysis techniques with the formula: The results of the analysis showed that the level of student mastery of the standard Indonesian of 61.65% and the student's mastery of non-standard language by 63.69%. While the average ability of students to distinguish raw and non-standard Indonesian is 70.04%.

Abstract

This study examines the ability to reason analogously in the discourse of students of Parulian-3 Medan Private Vocational School. The population of this study is all students of Parulian-3 Medan Private Vocational School as many as 182 people. A study sample of 28 people who were randomly taken in class I. The instruments used as many as 10 brief discourses, each short discourse has one conclusion. If one conclusion then the weight is 10, so the total value is 100. The formula used to analyze the data is the percentage of univariate statistics. The method in this study is descriptive method. The results of the study obtained the highest score of 90 and the lowest score of 70, the average score of 82.21, mode of 79 and the median of 79. To find the ability to reason analogously students of Private Vocational School Parulian-3 Medan used the formula to look for averages. From the formula obtained the results of the ability to reason analogously students of Private Vocational School Parulian-3 Medan is 82,21is ongood criteria.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to study and empirically prove the presence or absence of influence on the quality of interpersonal communication with children on juvenile delinquency instudents. The sampling method is Random Sampling, with a large sample of 28 people. The method used in this research is descriptive method, Quantitative data analysis method is the method of analysis used in research. The data to be analyzed in this study are data from the variables of interpersonal communication of parents with children (as dependent variables) and juvenile delinquency variables (as independent variables). This analytical technique used a value scale: 3.26-4.00 (excellent category, 2.51-3.25 (good/high category), 1.76-2.50 (pretty good category/high enough), 1.00-1.75 (less good/low category), From the results of data processing, it was concluded that: Parental interpersonal communication with children falls into the category of good or high with an average score of 3.07. Juvenile delinquency in students falls into the low category, with an average score of 1.03. From the results of the calculation obtained the correlation coefficient r = 0.32 (moderate positive correlation). through testing using the t Distribution, obtained; th = 1,76, tt(1-1/2) =1,701, with the provision of acceptance Ho if = –t(1-1/2 ).It turns out that through calculation th is not amongt(1-1/2) dan t(1-1/2). (-1,701 and 1,701), Then the hypothesis upheld in this study is acceptable. To find the magnitude of influence, the formula of the coefficient of determination isused. From the results of the calculation obtained a coefficient of determination of 0.106 which means the magnitude of the influence of 1.12%. From the results of the above hypothesis testing it can be concluded that the factor of parental communication with children is one of the factors that affect the level of juvenile delinquency, with an influence rate of about 1.12%.

Abstract

This research deals with the student’s mastery of vocabulary and reading comprehension. It is aimed at finding out whether there is a high correlation between the mastery of vocabulary and reading comprehension. In this research the population was taken students of SMP Swasta Tenera PTPN IV Kab. Langkat. The total number of the samples was 20 students. After the data had been collected, the writer analyzed the data by using the formula of Pearson Product Moment. After calculating the correlation of mastery vocabulary and reading comprehension test, it was obtained that the correlation coefficient was 0,57. It means that there is a high correlation between mastery of vocabulary and reading comprehension. It implies that the higher the student’s mastery on vocabulary, the better they can comprehend the reading texts.

Abstract

This study deals with the application of Group Work in teaching English. The underlying objective of the study is to see whether teaching reading by using Group Work has significant difference from the students who do not apply it. In carrying out this study, the writer took 40 students of the first year of SMP Negeri 6 Binjai from two classes as the sample of her study. They were divided into two groups. The first group is experimental group was taught by using group work in reading comprehension, while the second group is controlled group, the reading text was taught without group work. The instrument used were teacher made test based on the materials that had been taught. These test used were administrated to find out the reliability, the computation showed that the reliability of the test was 1,5. After the treatment, a post-test was applied. The results of the study shows that teaching reading comprehension by using group work is more significant than of without group work.
