Abstract

The aim of the study was to examine the effectiveness of various extracts of vegetable insecticides in controlling armyworm (Spodoptera litura) on mustard plants. The study was carried out in Sampali Village, Percut Sei Tuan District, North Sumatra, from May to June 2019. Effectiveness of Vegetable Insecticides on Death Rate Grayak caterpillars, plant height (cm) and mustard production per plot (g). The results showed that the application of botanical insecticides had a very significant effect on observations 17, 19 and 21 day after planting on the mortality of armyworms, as well as the intensity of damage to the mustard plant. Effectiveness of Vegetable Insecticides (%) on the Death Speed of Grayak Caterpillars where 50% tuba root had the highest effectiveness. (63,30) and the production of mustard greens also showed a very significant difference. It can be seen that the use of tuba root as a vegetable insecticide is quite effective in controlling armyworm (Spodoptera litura) on mustard plants.

Abstract

The teacher's learning process activities are expected to be able to guide and help students to be more creative and more active, it is due to increase student interest in learning. To determine success in the learning process to be implemented, several learning methods such as the discovery method are needed. Discovery learning learning method is a teaching procedure that emphasizes individual teaching, object manipulation, etc., which links science, environment, technology and interacting society. The existence of the discovery learning method in learning can improve students' creativity and skills. The development of this discovery method can help students to be able to adapt to reality not fantasy, make students think broadly and creatively, can solve any problems that arise, and students become wise in make decision.

Abstract

Remembering is the ability to focus on knowledge and it really makes a difference in the learning process. It's in the online learning period today, many students have weak remember skills, including elementary school students. Weak remember skills in elementary school students will cause them difficulty in achieving learning goals in the cognitive domain. The application of technology-based learning media that is one solution can be done to abilities students remember skills, especially for elementary school students who are still thinking concretely. The ability to remember was a present of God that should be developed as a form of gratitude to God and used to glorify God. The purpose of this article is to analyze the application of technology-based learning media in developing students remember skills. The method used was qualitative descriptive and literary studies. Based on the results of the research, the application of learning media that utilizes technology has a significant influence on the development of students' memory skills. This is evident from the accuracy of student responses when answering questions posed by the teacher through review questions and guided exercises containing the material they have studied previously. In addition, student learning outcomes also showed an increase which can be seen through the results of the class average score from 79.5 to 86.9 and 83.3 after the media was applied.

Abstract

Cocoa is a plantation crop that is favored by many types of insects, ranging from beneficial and harmful insects. This study aims to identify insects and determine the index of insect diversity found in the Cocoa Plantation in Juma Gerat Village, Tigalingga District, Dairi Regency. By using the purposive sampling method with the sampling technique using the Yellow Pan Trap and Yellow Sticky Trap methods. Insect sampling was carried out at 5 points of observation locations with 7 sampling times, on an area of 1 hectare. The results showed that there were 27 species of insects (Lepisiota sp., Anoplolepis gracilipes, Chelonus sp., Cremnops sp., Bactrocera dorsalis, Trigonocera rivosa, Brachycera sp., Culex Pipiens, Herina sp., Sambio sp., Atherigona rodani, Cafius sp., Aphodius rudicola, Calleida letreille, Oides palleata, Paropsisterna sp., Merdilina pustulata, Helopeltis sp., Bhandara translucida, Deselvana simulans, Bothrogonia addita, Palanococcus citri, Italochrysa sp., Gryllus aptera, Periplaneta sp., Blatella germanica, Chilo sp.). The cocoa insect diversity index in Juma Gerat Village is categorized as medium with a value of 1,528, and the Dominance Index of 0,326 is categorized as low. This value indicates that there is no type of insect that dominates and the distribution of insect species is evenly distributed in the area.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the testing of various types of manure and the dose of compound fertilizer NPK 17:17:17 on the growth and production of green beans (Vigna radiata L.). This study used a split plot design (RPT) with 2 factors. Parameters measured were plant height, number of primary branches, flowering age, number of filled pods per plant, number of empty pods per plant, number of seeds per pod, seed yield per plant, seed yield per plot, weight of 100 seeds. Observational data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and continued with Duncan's mean difference test (DMRT). The results showed that the treatment of chicken manure gave the best effect on plant height, number of primary branches and weight of 100 mung bean seeds. The treatment of various doses of NPK 17:17:17 compound fertilizer did not affect all the observed parameters. There was no interaction between the type of manure and the dose of compound fertilizer NPK 17:17:17 on all observation parameters.

Abstract

Salting anchovy is a method of preservation with the principle of penetration of salt into fish meat, and it is influenced by various physical and chemical factors. The drying process in principle is the process of reducing the water content in the fish. The purpose of drying is to prevent bacteria and enzymes from in the fish's body. The quality and the safety of salted fish need attention, because in general the process of production and distribution of salted fish products is still simple and conventional. The purpose of this study was to determine the total number of microbial plate counts in salted anchovies at the Remu market, Sorong city, West Papua. The research method used is descriptive method, which describes the total number of microbial plate counts in a test sample. Based on the results of the research that has been carried out, it shows that from nine samples of salted anchovies at the Remu market, Sorong city, West Papua, which was tested it was stated that the product was suitable for consumption when viewed from the results of the total microbial plate count test.

Abstract

This study aims to find out how much the Quizizz platform utilization as an indicator of increasing learning enthusiasm and ability to understand science concepts. The method used is descriptive quantitative. The research population is the seventh grade students of MTs. Al-Jihad Kerasaan as many as 5 classes with a total of 150 students. Determination of the sample using the Cluster Random Sampling technique (Random Class) with a sample of 30 students. The instrument to see the level of enthusiasm for learning is a checklist observation sheet filled out by an observer, while the instrument for understanding the level of science concepts uses a pre-test and post-test through the use of the Quizizz platform. Data analysis was carried out by calculating the average value of the pre-test and post-test for each meeting and calculating the average value of the percentage of students' enthusiasm for learning. The results showed an increase in student enthusiasm for learning by 25.6% and an increase in understanding science concepts as indicated by an increase in the post-test score of 14 points to 84.67 which had passed the KKM value for science subjects, which was 70. The results showed that the use of the Quizizz platform as an indicator of increasing enthusiasm for learning and the ability to understand science concepts is very large.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of using audiovisual media and the team quiz learning model on learning outcomes. The sampling technique used cluster random sampling with experimental sample I (MIPA2) using audiovisual media and experiment II (MIPA3) using the team quiz learning model. The instrument used a multiple choice test of 20 questions and then analyzed to find the mean, median, mode, standard deviation, normality test, homogeneity, linearity, paired sample t-test, independent sample t-test, regression test, t-test, f-test, the coefficient of determination test, and the category of learning outcomes. Furthermore, the data obtained were analyzed using the ANOVA test with a significance level of 5% (α = 0.05) with the help of the SPSS 21 program. The results showed a significant effect between the use of audiovisual media and the team quiz learning model on learning success with a probability value of 0.000 = 0.05 with Fhitung 16.581 FTable 4.006. The results of the paired sample t-test showed that there was a 17.33% difference between the use of audiovisual media and the team quiz learning model. Thus Ha is accepted and H0 is rejected, which means that the use of audiovisual media and the team quiz learning model affects learning outcomes at SMA YPK Pematangsiantar.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the blended learning model supported by Quizizz media on creativity and high-level student learning outcomes. The method used in this study was a quasi-experimental (quasi-experimental) with a pretest-posttest two-group design. The population in this study were all students of Class XI MIPA SMA Foundation Higher Education Pematangsiantar for the Academic Year 2021/2022. The research sample consisted of 2 classes totaling 60 individuals, which were selected using cluster random sampling technique. The blended learning model used in this study uses Quizizz as a media to support online learning. Student creativity was measured using a questionnaire, while high-level student learning outcomes were measured using a valid and reliable descriptive test. In addition, the data obtained were analyzed using quantitative descriptive analysis by conducting analysis prerequisite tests and hypothesis testing with a significance level of 0.05. The results of this study indicate that the use of a blended learning model using quiz media has a significant effect on students' creativity with a probability value of 0.000 = 0.05 and tcount 13.189 ttable 1.701.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the types of errors and the factors that cause students to make mistakes in solving problems based on the Newman method with Adversity Quotient (AQ). This research is a qualitative descriptive study with the research subjects namely 5 students of class VII-B SMP Negeri 6 Medan according to their respective AQ categories. The instruments used in this study were ARP questionnaires, problem solving test questions, and interview guidelines. Based on the results of the study, students in the AQ Quitter category made mistakes in reading, understanding, modifying, processing, and writing the final answer. Students with the AQ Transition from Quitter to Camper category made errors in reading, comprehension, transformation, and processing skills. Students in the AQ Camper and Transition from Camper to Climber categories made errors in processing skills and writing final answers. AQ Climber category students made mistakes in understanding, processing, and writing the final answer. Factors that cause students to misread because students forget. The misunderstanding is because you don't understand the point of the question. Transformation errors are caused by not knowing the formula and not knowing the steps to solving the problem. Agility due to lack of precision and haste. Failed to write the final answer due to an error in the previous stage
