Abstract

This research is motivated by efforts to increase capacity, especially in learning science through increasing rational thinking skills. One learning model that can be used to improve students' rational thinking skills is a blended learning model based on constructive feedback. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of constructive feedback based blended learning models on students' rational thinking abilities on science subjects excretory system material. This type of research is a quasi-experimental design using pre-test and post-test. The population of this research is VIII grade students of SMPN 4 Ponorogo. As a sample, class VIII-G was randomly selected as the experimental class and class VIII-F as the control class. Data analysis used t-test with the help of SPSS 23 software. The results of the analysis showed that the students' rational thinking ability data were normally distributed and had a homogeneous distribution. T-test results show that H0 is rejected, so it can be concluded that the rational thinking skills of students in the experimental class are better than students in the control class. This shows that the blended learning model based on constructive feedback is effective in improving students' rational thinking skills.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of communication skills of students at SMPN 2 Ponorogo. This research was conducted in October 2019 at SMPN 2 Ponorogo. The method is a qualitative study with a sample of VII H class students in SMPN 2 Ponorogo consisting of 31 students obtained from random sampling. The design of this study used a survey design or the provision of written tests to students and interviews. The data collection technique is carried out by providing a description test to measure students' communication skills and non-structured interviews to students and teachers. Analysis of the data in this study was using qualitative descriptive and quantitative descriptive techniques. The results showed that the level of communication skills of VII grade students of SMPN 2 Ponorogo was still relatively low. The average value obtained is generally 56.9. So, the communication skills of students at SMPN 2 Ponorogo still need to be improved. Some efforts to train students in improving their communication skills are by conducting teaching and learning processes with learning models that are oriented towards students, conducting learning with active discussion, accustoming students to read, providing interesting learning facilities and media, and conducting learning activities with experiment or student worksheets.

Abstract

This research was conducted to obtain a picture of the level of argumentation skills of students in science learning. This research is a starting point to find out the level of 21st century skills that are very important students have, one of which is argumentation skills. The method used is a qualitative study with a survey design and unstructured interviews with a sample of class IX A students in one of the Ponorogo District Junior High Schools selected by cross sectional random sampling. The results showed that the average of students 'argumentation skills was 71.528, which meant the level of students' argumentation skills in learning science was still relatively low. The results of this study become a reference for further research to improve students' argumentation skills in learning science especially1 Tadris IPA, IAIN Ponorogo, Indonesia

Abstract

This research aims to examine the ability to make conclusions of students in learning science especially the static electricity material. The method is quantitative research with an analytic survey design with a cross-sectional approach. The sample in this study were all 33 students of vocational high school in Ponorogo city. This research was conducted with one meeting within a period of 2 hours of study. At this meeting the researcher provides an initial stimulus that can direct students towards the ability to make conclusions. Then researchers provide tests to measure the ability to draw conclusions. This data collection technique is done through tests of the ability to make conclusions,  as well as interviews with educators and students. This data analysis technique is through quantitative descriptive and qualitative descriptive. The results showed that the acquisition of indicator scores translated or identified problems 30.56; design or plan problem solving with a  score of 52.78; solve problems with a  score of  56.48, and the indicators explain or evaluate the results with the acquisition of a score of 55.56. Thus it can be concluded that the ability to make conclusions of students, shows an average value of 48.84 in the category of low inference ability.

Abstract

This research aims to study the feasibility of learning models, student activities, and the presence or absence of problem-based learning models on the creative thinking skills of grade VII students at SMP Negeri 1 Mlarak. This research is a quasi-experimental study with a nonequivalent control group design. This study uses PBL learning models assisted by audio visual media for the experimental class and conventional models for the control class. The instrument used was a written test consisting of descriptions, while the statistical analysis used the t test (independent sample test) and one tail test.

Abstract

Everything that has been achieved by students after conducting learning activities is called learning outcomes. In learning science at the elementary school level, needed media to improve learning outcomes. One of the media that can be used is picture media which are considered easy to make and inexpensive. This study uses quantitative methods with quasi-experimental designs consisting of experimental and control groups. Based on the calculation of the t test of science learning outcomes of third grade students of state islamic elementary  between those who use and do not use picture media, the value of t-count is 14.527 and t-table is 2.05 at the significance level of 5%. From the two values it is known that t-count> t-table, then Ho is rejected or Ha is accepted, so there is a difference in the learning outcomes of third grade tate islamic elementary students between those who use and do not use picture media.

Abstract

This study aims to find out information related to the needs of interactive multimedia with a contextual approach as a science learning media. This research is a research and development that refers to the ADDIE development model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). Data collection techniques used were questionnaires, observations, and interviews and relevant literature studies. The population in this study is SMP Negeri 1 Jember. The samples in this study were 80 students of class VII and teachers of natural science subjects. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis. The results of this study were obtained that the learning media used are still limited to textbooks and worksheets and there is no use of interactive multimedia so it is necessary to do interactive multimedia development on natural science materials especially environmental pollution materials that are appropriate to the needs of students in order to achieve learning objectives. Based on this it can be concluded that interactive multimedia with a contextual approach is needed to be developed in natural science subjects.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of the problem based learning model of learning on students' ability to solve science problems at SMPN 1 Siman Ponorogo. That is because PBL learning models that take advantage of real-world (contextual) problems will provide opportunities for students to hone, grow, and improve their ability to solve science problems so that they can be applied in dealing with problems in daily life. This study uses a quantitative approach. This research method is quasi experimental design and the type of research used is experimental research with a non-equivalent group design experimental design. Data collection was performed using posttest questions which were then analyzed using inferential statistical data analysis techniques. The sampling technique used in this study is purposive sampling. The population in this study were all eighth grade students of SMPN 1 Siman. The sample in this study was class VIII A as an experimental class and Class VIII B as a control class. From the study obtained post test results which showed that the class with a problem based learning model through a contextual approach had a higher average value when compared to the class using conventional methods, namely 84.54 and 50.45. Hypothesis test results obtained tcount> ttable is 11.747> 1.681, so Ha is accepted and H0 is rejected. From these calculations it can be concluded that there is a significant influence on the Problem Based Learning model through a contextual approach to the ability to solve science problems of Grade VIII students at SMPN 1 Siman Ponorogo.
