Abstract

Physics is one of the subjects in high school which consists of facts, concepts, principles, laws, postulates, and scientific theories and methodologies. Students consider physics to be difficult because many physics concepts are abstract and difficult to understand. In this case, learning media is needed that can be used to assist teachers in clarifying the material. The purpose of this research is to develop comic visual learning media on atomic physics material. The method used in this research is research and development. Data were obtained from validation assessments by 2 material experts and 2 media experts as well as small group trials with a sample of 10 students. This research was conducted in 2022 at SMA Negeri Klakah. The result of the research is that the visual media of physics comics in terms of the material aspect has an average validity of 3.8 with a very high feasibility category. Judging from the media aspect, the physical comic visual media has an average validity of 3.6 with a very high eligibility category. The results of the trial limited to a small group obtained an average of 3.35 in the practical category. The research concludes that based on the categories of validity and practicality, the visual media of physics comics on atomic physics material that has been developed is very feasible and practical to use in learning Atomic Physics in Class XII Senior High School.

Abstract

Relativistic energy is a material that is considered difficult by students because the general solution takes quite a long time. This is based on the results of interviews with students of SMAN Plus Sukowono. The magic number method is a method using the Pythagorean principle through special numbers that are often encountered in relativistic energy problems. The purpose of the research was to obtain data on student responses to the magic number method as an alternative solution to the relativistic kinetic energy problem that makes it easier for students to solve relativistic energy problems. The research method used by the researcher is the survey research method with descriptive analysis. The respondents used were 28 students of class XI MIPA SMAN Plus Sukowono and used an assessment instrument in the form of a response questionnaire. Student response questionnaires were compiled based on Stellen M. Chafe's theory which was based on the cognitive, affective, and conative dimensions. The results of the research on student responses to the magic number method as an alternative solution to the problem of solving relativistic kinetic energy problems obtained percentage data on the cognitive dimension of 72.93% in the positive category, the affective dimension of 80.63% in the very positive category and the cognitive dimension in 75% in the positive category. The average of the overall response dimensions is 76.19% in the positive category. This research can be concluded that the magic number method can be used in physics learning the theory of relativity.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of the STEM approach on the creative and critical thinking skills of high school students in learning physics. This research uses meta-analysis. The data in this research is secondary data from the results of research that have been investigated by other researchers. The data collection technique is using a literature study by looking for articles related to STEM learning. Sampling was carried out by purposive sampling technique. The sources of the research are 20 articles with national and international accreditation with criteria according to the problem formulation. This meta-analysis uses Cohen's d. effect size calculation method. The results obtained are first, based on the integrated learning model of the STEM approach that the STEM approach without the integrated model obtains the highest average effect value with an average effect of 2.93. Second, based on the learning material, the highest average value of the effect is on the dynamic electric material and Newton's law of gravity. Third, the application of the STEM approach to creative and critical thinking skills has an average effect of 2.66 for critical thinking skills, while creative thinking skills have an average effect of 1.47. Thus the STEM approach affects improving students' creative and critical thinking skills through integration with high school physics learning models and materials.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the need for the availability of physics teaching materials in the form of electronic worksheets for students which can support the process of teaching and learning activities in senior high school. The demands and needs in fulfilling 21st-century skills need to be considered through the provision of interactive e-worksheets that integrate STEM. This research is qualitative descriptive research using interview techniques consisting of 13 items of questions related to the needs of teaching materials in senior high schools. The results of the interviews were analyzed to determine the need for Electronic Worksheets. The results of the interview analysis showed that the learning carried out today is often online and blended learning. So it is necessary to use teaching materials in the form of interactive e-worksheets during the process of teaching and learning activities with 21st-century learning adjustments. For this reason, it is necessary to develop physics teaching materials in the form of STEM integrated interactive e-worksheets to support meeting the needs of teaching materials by teachers, as well as the needs of students at the SMA 13 Kerinci, in order to be able to learn actively and independently.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the use of reading guide-based physics practicum manuals to improve students' creative thinking skills. The type of research method used in this research is a literature study. Data collection is obtained from various journals, books, and proceedings that are relevant to the focus of the research and based on creative thinking indicators, namely fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration in a reading guide-based practical model. The data were analyzed by the correlation between the indicators of creative thinking ability and the practicum guide model used. The results of this research are a collection of references that are relevant to the focus of the research. Based on the results of the literature study, it was found that there was a correlation or continuity between the criteria for reading guide learning strategies and indicators of creative thinking skills, namely: 1) Fluency, 2) flexibility, 3) originality, and 4) elaboration. Therefore, it is concluded that the use of variations of the reading guide-based physics practicum model will be able to improve students' creative thinking skills if it is used in learning that carries out physics practicum.

Abstract

Digital-based learning has become a trend in 21st-century education. However, most teaching materials are currently in the form of printed books which tend to be monotonous and less attractive, thus affecting low student learning outcomes. This research aims to produce a professional PDF flipbook-based e-module to improve student learning outcomes on work and energy material. The development model used is ADDIE. The implementation test used a one-group pre-test and post-test design on 34 students of class X MIPA of one of the high schools in Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan, Indonesia. Data were obtained through e-module validation instruments and student response questionnaires. The results obtained content and construct validity values of e-modules were 3.36 and 3.31, respectively, with valid categories. In addition, student responses amounted to 3.03 in the practical category. Thus, the developed e-module is feasible for improving student learning outcomes.
