Abstract

A bird is a wildlife which could be found almost in any vegetated environment. The existenceof a bird in one area is very important because it could affect the presence and distribution ofplant species. The research aims to identify species diversity, distribution of bird species,habitat and analyze the relationship of bird species diversity to habitat in urban forest,Pekanbaru Municipal. The research was held in Diponegoro Urban Forest, Arboretum ofForestry Training Hall and Arboretum of Lancang Kuning University. The research wasconducted from March to June, 2011. All bird data were collected using a point countmethod. The vegetation data collected included species, composition and structure byforming a plot measuring. It was found 45 species, 26 families and 10 orders of birds. Thebird species diversity indices (H’) varied between 2.85 and 3.29, the bird average indices (E)varied between 0.87 and 0.9 and species richness indices (R) between 4.67 and 6.70. Thevertical bird distribution was mostly the bird with the upper canopy (35%), middle canopy(34%) and the rest was lower canopy (16%) as well as ground surface (15%). It was alsofound 77 tree species of 30 families. The tree species diversity indices (H’) varied between2.06 and 3.23, the species average indices (E) was between 0.64 and 0.85 and speciesrichness indices (R) was between 4.29 and 7.29. the bird species diversity in Pekanbaru urban forest had a positive correlation to the urban forest making trees.

Abstract

The lack of the enviromentalism, the behavior of clean and the healthy life can lead to health problems such as desease based on the environment is ISPA and diarrhea. This study is aimed to analyze the effect of the environmentalism and the public behavior on the level of health in Puskesmas Pujud area. This study is quantitative analysis in of Cross Sectional. This study was conducted on may 2015, data is taken using a questionnaire. Analysis of data used on this study is statistical analysis of corelation Rank Spearman and F test with level of significant 0,05. The result of the study is showed the environmentalism with r-value = 0.864 which the environmentalism is positively correlated very strongly on the level of health. Than, the public behavior with r-value = 0.873 which the public behavior is positivley correlated very strongly on the level of health. For statistical hypothesis testing is showed F count is hinger than F tables. The environmentalism and the public behavior is affect of the level of health in Puskesmas Pujud area.

Abstract

The reseacrh to analyze pollution of ground water based on Geo-electrical methods cased onMuara Fajar Landfill Kecamatan Rumbai. The result obtained that resistivity value on point 2 atnorth of Muara Fajar Landfill (0,702-8.250 ohm-m), on point 4 at west of landfill (0,144-501.335 ohm-m), on point 3 at south of landfill (0,0103-11588 ohm-m), on point 1 at east oflandfill (0,601-51.294 ohm-m), on point 5 at centre of landfill (0,737-1.468.744 ohm-m). Basedon resistivity value above, all of the points had been polluted by leachet, dominantly at northand west point of landfill cause resistivity value less 10 ohm-m (fresh water). Resistivity valuehad showed that leachet flowed towards centre of landfill then around it and polluted groundwater systems of community around.

Abstract

The development of urban progress often experiences an inconsistency between urban development needs and the availibility and needs of RTH. Pekanbaru city turned into a city that moves into a form of metropolitan city, land use change in Pekanbaru City causes enviromental quality degradation, so that the existing area of existing public RTH must be considered and expanded and intensified its function. This study aims to determine the extent of public RTH that has existed until 2017 in the city of Pekanbaru and how to distribute the RTH and review the results of the strategy analysis of achieving the availibilty and needs of RTH in the city of Pekanbaru. The research was conducted in March to July 2017. The results showed that the proportion of RTH was set at least 30% of the total area of Pekanbaru City which is 18,967.80 ha consisting of Public RTH 12,645.20 ha (20%) and Private RTH 6,322,60 ha (10%) as mandated by Law No. 26 of 2007. The existing area of public RTH in Pekanbaru City in 2017 has only reached 419.70 ha (2.21%) and there is still a shortage of public RTH covering an area of 12,225.50 ha. Public RTH located in Pekanbaru City until 2017 consists of : (1) City Park covering an area of 98,522.02 m2, (2) Urban Forest covering an area of 1,698,900 m2, (3) Green Road RTH with an area of 161,001.86 m2, (4 ) Lake RTH covering an area of 1,201,100.00 m2, (5) Funeral RTH covering an area of 318,200.00 m2, (6) Sports Field RTH covering an area of 505,651.48 m2 and (7) RTH located in Government assets covering 213,657.20 m2. The Pekanbaru City Government and Pekanbaru City DPRD need to immediately place the green space problem as an important issue in the budget and ongoing program discussion and the Pekanbaru City Government must increase the availability of the budget for public green open space in an effort to achieve 20%. The plan to develop RTH in Pekanbaru City will be realized through the utilization of potential areas around the City of Pekanbaru. The realizationof the RTH of Pekanbaru City which is the Capital of Riau Province revealed in the RTH masterplan of at least 30% can be arranged in a systematic and realistic program indication framework.

Abstract

PT. Medco E&P Indonesia - Lirik that have registered Environmental ManagementSystem (EMS) standard ISO 14001; 2004 in May of 2011. The purpose of this study are1) to analyze the environmental management system in PT. Medco E&P Indonesia -Lirik 2) to analyze whether there is a difference (gap) between EMS PT. Medco E&PIndonesia - Lirik with ISO 14001;2004, 3) to know the public perception of the industryin the surrounding of corporate activity. This research is a case study application of theISO EMS. Techniques of data collection is through direct observation of clause 4.4(implementation and operation) and clause 4.5 (examination) through document search,questionnaire and interviews with officers in the field and the community aroundthe company. Data analysis was carried out by way of valuation mismatch EMS ofPT. Medco E&P Indonesia - Lirik by EMS ISO 14001; 2004 and gap analysis. Theresults were obtained general 1) Generally PT. Medco E&P Indonesia - Lirik alreadyapplying EMS clause 4.4 (Applied and operations) and kalusul 4.5 (examination). Metsome of the non-conformance of which are in sub-clause 4.4.3 (Communication), thecommunication system in the PT. Medco E&P Indonesia - Lirik has not covered all thecompany's environmental management system and does not include all relevant parties.While clause 4.4.5 (Documentation management), found that the documents containedin the document only manual control environment and environmental procedures, andother documents are not complete. To clause 4.5.3 (a discrepancy, action, correctiveand preventive) found that PT. Medco E&P Indonesia - Lirik has not executedcorrective and preventive actions against discrepancies found in the environmentalmanagement system implemented.

Abstract

The system dynamics model of causal due to the feedback between the populationand the conversion of forest into palm oil plantations with soil erosion and predicttrends in the future. This study was conducted from May to June 2012 to calculatethe rate of depreciation of forests and increase the existing palm oil plantations inKoto Gasib Siak District; describe relationships forest shrinkage rate withincreasing palm oil plantations. The results of this study indicate shrinkage hasoccurred due to conversion of forest land into oil palm plantations in the district ofKoto Gasib Siak. System dynamics model of progressive scenario (positiveinterventions) by modifying the elements of suppression of population growth, landconversion moratorium and increase oil palm plantations, rehabilitation,reforestation and revegetation on critical land and conservation land managementand soil conservation techniques proven to increase the amount of forest area andlowers the value of the actual rate of soil erosion in the district Koto Gasib Siak.

Abstract

The behavior of the community or individual to manage waste in the sub-urban area of Rumbai Pesisir District are not lead to positive behaviors such as sorting, collection, disposal of garbage into temporary shelters. Public indifference of the garbage will result the degradation of environmental quality that will affect the people life quality, garbage piled will make flies breed thus allowing family members experiencing symptoms of diarrhea. The purposes of this research is to analyze direct and indirect effect between the behavior of waste management with the density of flies on the symptoms of diarrhea. Based on the results, there is the effect of garbage management behavior towards the density of flies, the better the waste management behavior the lower the density of flies on the contrary, if the behavior of waste management to the occurrence of flies is not good than the density of flies increased. There is the influence of the density of flies against diarrhea disease symptoms, the higher the density of flies the symptoms of diarrhea is increasing conversely the lower the density of flies then the lower the incidence of diarrhea symptoms. There is the influence of the simultaneous behavior of waste management and the density of flies against the symptoms of diarrhea, if the behavior of waste management better than the number density of flies will be lower and the symptoms of diarrhea diseases is getting lower on the contrary if the behavior of the waste management worse than the number density of flies higher and symptoms of diarrhea disease more increasing. This research advised to the community, for always maintain the cleanliness of the environment in their house to reduce or eliminate the breeding sites of flies. Additionally the community need to sorting, collection and disposal the garbage into temporary shelters, using the hood of food cover to reduce hazards of food contamination by flies

Abstract

A qualitative research was conducted to analyze values of local wisdom of Pekandanganculture in Kuantan Singingi Regency. This study is a qualitative research. Data are collectedthrough observation, documentation, and dept interview with the key informans including thechief Pekandangan Kerbau and society leader. The result of this study shows the following :The culture Pekandangan Kerbau contains the values local traditions or local wisdom are : (1)there are mudhole in perkandangan area (2) insect bite protection (3) there are protector treesin perkandangan area, (4) as the use of half dried log (mati koro), (5) the use of hard wood,buffaloes’ dirt for firewood; (6) the knowledge of hungry buffalo, (7) the consumtion of thehealth traditional food and (8) Mandawai is community working together (gotong royong). Thelocal wisdom is useful for the environment base development

Abstract

ABSTRACTMedical waste derived from public hospital is of a serious problem enviromentmentally, therefore it need to be managed properly starting from collection of waste until the process of destruction, coresponding to the regulation of the ministry of health, the present study aimed at assessing the management of waste of Gunungtua Public Hospital, a field survey and observation was conducted during September-October 2014, in Padang Lawas Utara District. Eleven informants were interviewed. Apparently, waste processing facilities as wel as infrastructures of Gunungtua Public Hospital has not build up completely, as a resuld the waste processing has well performed in relation to the goverment regulation in waste standard. Full support from the local goverment did not met the need for whole facilities. SWOT analysis suggested that four cells strategies, wich of the eight strategies.

Abstract

Penelitian ini berlangsung pada bulan Nopember-Desember 2007 di sungai Sail Pekanbaru. Tujuan daripenelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kualitas air sungai yang dievaluasi berdasarkan struktur komunitas makrozoobentos. Terdapat 5 (lima) titik sampling. Sampel air dan makrozoobentos diambilsebanyak 2 (dua) kali, seminggu sekali. Analisis sampel dilakukan di Laboratorium Ekologi Perairan, Fakultas Perikanan dan Ilmu Kelautan Universitas Riau. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa makroozoobentos yang diperoleh terdiri dari 5 (lima) spesies yang berasal dari 3(tiga) kelas, yaitu Gastropoda: Bellarnyajavanica, Viviparus subpurpureus, dan Melanoides tuberculata; Oligochaeta: Tubifex sp dan Diptera:Chironomus sp. Indeks Kepadatan makrozoobentos 476 sampai 11.905 organisme/m2, nilai indeks Keragaman (H’) 0.46-1.90. Nilai indeks Dominan (C) 0.34-0.86 (terdapat spesies dominan, yaitu Tubifexsp). Nilai indeks Keseragaman (E) 0.20-0.82. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa sungai Sail telah tercemar berat.
