Aims and Scope The purpose of JOYCED Journal of Early Childhood Education is to capture and disseminate information about exciting and innovative models, programs, funding approaches, practices, policies, research, and other areas that are being explored and implemented to improve the education of children around the world. JOYCED Journal of Early Childhood Education is published for a global audience working to create positive, sustainable futures for children by seeking out and developing innovative solutions to education challenges. Our target audience includes practitioners in schools, non governmental organizations, community-based organizations, and education academics interested in innovative ideas and practices; global education advocates are foundations, government agencies, and college students. We are looking for engaging, accessible articles that explore cutting-edge thinking and emerging trends and ideas in school design, technology, education leadership, curriculum approaches, assessment improvements, child growth and development, developmental observation, Childrens relations with family and society, health, safety, nutrition, and management. Abstract

This research is a literature study that aims to stimulate early literacy in early childhood through a multisensory approach. This research is a descriptive qualitative type using literature study, with a background of low initial reading skills, the concern that parents are concerned about their children who cannot read when they enter elementary school, and the development of a literacy culture. In this literature study research, researchers used various written sources such as articles and documents relevant to this research. In this study’s literature study, there was an increase in literacy, both from preface reading and initial writing, with a multisensory approach—the results of several studies that a multisensory approach can improve early reading and writing for early childhood.

Abstract

The first education for children from an early age is that of the parents. This study aims to describe the role of family education that will affect the quality of children through parenting and parenting. This study used a qualitative approach with a descriptive method to obtain information related to family education about children's calories. Children's calories need to be supervised by parents to determine whether or not the child's nutrition intake is sufficient to fulfill nutrition in children so as not to excess calories in early childhood. Data collection techniques using observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that parents assisted children by guiding children in learning and doing assignments from educators, a series of habituation models in speech and behavior.

Abstract

The use of media that is still low at the level of children's expressive language skills makes researchers create media that aims to improve graphic language skills of children 4-5 years old by making magazines as children's worksheets. The research method used is by using research and development methods with data collection techniques through data collection, product design, and produce results which are then processed into data which is then analyzed. Based on the study results, the expressive language skills of the students of Play Group PAUD Harapan Bangsa Cirebon Regency after the trial showed an increase of 22.50% with the outcome of 78.50%, namely in the very well developed category. Animated animal-themed quiz game contains animations (moving pictures), including sub-themes of animal types, animal characteristics, and animal food. Therefore, creating an animated quiz media based on animal themes can improve the expressive language skills of early childhood.

Abstract

Language skills in PAUD Terpadu Mutiara Yogyakarta children are still low. This matter is caused by less attractive and varied educational procedures and media. The use of exciting techniques such as telling is expected to improve children's language skills. This research aims: to identify the skills in telling children in improving the language skills of children PAUD Terpadu Mutiara Yogyakarta; to recognize the increase in language skills of children in PAUD Terpadu Mutiara Yogyakarta through telling. This research's procedure involves action research, which consists of 2 cycles, the first cycle of 8 actions and the second cycle of 3 steps. The study subjects were children in group B, with 16 children consisting of 5 boys and 11 girls. Methods of collecting information through observation, interviews, and documentation. The method of information analysis was tried descriptively, qualitatively, and quantitatively. The action's success criterion is if the average class score in improving language skills reaches 75%. The research results show that: the media implementation process includes three stages, namely preparation, implementation of activities, and assessment; in Cycle I, it increased from the results of pre-action by 27% to 36%, and in Cycle II, it increased to 75%. So it can be concluded that the implementation of telling can improve PAUD Terpadu Mutiara Yogyakarta children's language skills.

Abstract

This study aimed to find out how the strategies for mentoring and learning deaf children are. The current phenomenon about deaf children is that they have difficulty communicating or can be categorized as low in communication with other people because their vocabulary is lacking. In the world of education, there are still few people who understand the characteristics of deaf children. It was also found that one of the teachers at an extraordinary school was more understanding when communicating with children with disabilities, mental disorders, and others than communicating with deaf children. This data collection technique is through descriptive analysis, content analysis or content analysis, and concluding a literary method with the type of library research, namely the mentoring and learning strategy for deaf children. There is an inclusive school for each child according to their particular needs. All efforts are made to be served optimally by making various modifications and adjustments. Learning media that can be used for deaf children are visual stimulation media and auditory stimulation media.

Abstract

Children's cognitive abilities have not been appropriately achieved. This is due to the use of methods that are considered less effective in the learning process. The purpose of this study was to determine the reality of differences in cognitive abilities of early childhood with the Brain Gym method and the assignment method for Group B at RA Al-Wafi Panyileukan Bandung City. The research method used is Quasi Experiment with non-equivalent control group design research. The results showed that children's cognitive abilities using the Brain Gym method and those using the Giving Task method had significant differences. This was evidenced by the results of hypothesis testing, which showed the t value = 8.97 more effective than the t table value = 2.043 at a significance level of 5 %.

Abstract

Maintaining health is very important to be applied from an early age, especially during the covid-19 pandemic. This is important because children are prone to disease because their immune system is not as strong as adults in general. This study aims to present and describe the implementation of healthy living behaviors of early childhood during the covid-19 pandemic. This research includes a type of field research with a qualitative approach. The data source uses primary data in interviews, observations, documentation, and questionnaires—data analysis techniques using the Miles and Huberman models. The results of this study show that the implementation of healthy living behaviors of early childhood has been carried out well following the proposal of the Directorate of Paud Development in 2020 on four healthy living behaviors in schools, namely: washing hands with soap, drinking water, and eating healthy and hygienic food, as well as disposing of waste in its place and keeping the environment clean and safe.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the talaqqi method in the development of language and religious values in the Qur'an tahfidzul program for early childhood applied in BA Aisyiyah Mayang Gatak. This research uses descriptive methods with a qualitative approach. The subjects of the study were the principal, Teacher Tahfidz, and Children. Data collection in this study using observation methods, interviews, and documentation. This study shows that the implementation of talaqqi method on language development in receptive language achievement is that the child will have many and varied vocabulary, can straighten the child's tongue, read letters well, children can pronounce according to the makhraj letter. The implementation of talaqqi method on the development of children's religious values can instill culture to children, invite children to love Allah SWT, Children are introduced to the Qur'an and love the Qur'an, and print a generation of praiseworthy morals. Children can understand and understand the content of the Qur'an, and children have a religious character from an early age.

Abstract

Cognitive development is one aspect of child development that is very important to get intervention during the COVID-19 pandemic, Cognitive development is a development that is closely related to thinking skills, such as reasoning, memory, and the ability to solve practical problems. The cognitive mindset of early childhood is very much different from people who are teenagers and adults or even children who are in middle school and above. Elementary school age children have limitations in thinking about abstract things, cognitive development has a correlation with other developments and will have an impact especially on children's academic abilities. The purpose of this paper is to examine how the cognitive development of early childhood during the covid-19 pandemic and what strategies are carried out by parents in developing cognitive development of early childhood during the covid-19 pandemic? Based on the formulation of the problem above, the data analysis technique used in this study is an interactive model of data analysis in analysing the data carried out in three ways, namely data reduction activities, data presentation and also data conclusions. as well as parents. These results and discussions describe various issues related to cognitive development problems such as several barriers to children's activities and activities that have an impact on children's cognitive during the COVID-19 pandemic in Pangkalan Kuras District, Pelalawan Regency, Riau Province. In conclusion, this study aims to describe the cognitive development of early childhood during the COVID-19 pandemic and provide views regarding several activities that can be internalized to stimulate children's cognitive development.

Abstract

Children as social beings who have the right to grow and develop and live freely and play according to their age without feeling uncomfortable. In big cities there are still many children who are forced to take to the streets and help their parents earn a living, regardless of their needs, healt, rights and risks. The purpose of this study is to find and explain the factors for the emergence of street children, the risks that can be obtained when children take to the streets, obstacles and efforts to handle the rise of street children. The method used in this research is the library research method which collects data or information through reviewing and exploring several printed and online references. The result is that the government had made efforts in handling and eradicating case of street children, Such as the construction of foster homes, community empowerment and other handling.
