Abstract

The development of technology is very rapid. The institution of education cannot be separated from the use of technology. The use of technological applications in learning systems has become commonplace in this digital era. However, the use of technology in learning must be more selective which can have a positive impact on students. Learning is a process to obtain changes that are carried out consciously, actively, dynamically, systematically, continuously, integrative, and have clear goals. Learning is an activity in which there is a process of teaching, guiding, training, and giving an example. The research objectives of this research are; a) to find out learning using technology, b) to find out the community applies social science, and c) to know the community uses technology and social science. The research method used in research is library research. In this study, researchers used sources in the form of books, journals, articles, or reviews related to technological literacy. The results showed that institutions of education have accepted and many use technology as a support for the learning process. Then the second is that people who apply social science can develop an emotional, intellectual, and social culture that can teach students to have a way of thinking critically and behavior responsibility in a social society. In the end, science and technology have positive and negative impacts. The user of technology, society, or students must be more selective in the use of technology

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the reading habits of students of the English Education Study Program of IPB Cirebon and to find out several factors that influence the habits of students of IPB Cirebon. This study uses a qualitative method using an ethnographic approach. The Source of data is taken by purposive sampling or sample purpose. Data were collected using in-depth interviews, active participant observation, and questionnaires. Data accuracy was validated by data triangulation, method triangulation, and member check. Furthermore, the data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model. The results of this study describe reading habits in six indicators, reading frequency, type of reading, number of readings, visiting the library, the purpose of reading, and awareness of the importance of reading. Indicators of reading frequency, type, and amount of reading still need to be developed because students still depend on assignments or academic activities given by lecturers. Indicators of student reading habits that need further development are related to the discipline of using time and ownership of periodic readings in newspapers, magazines, scientific magazines, or journals. The need for information is obtained from social media but not regularly and periodically. Access to information is done depending on the mood or mood. Therefore, there are three important points: family, education, and internet use. Indicators of student reading habits that need further development are the discipline of using time and ownership of periodic readings in newspapers, magazines, scientific magazines, or journals. The need for information is obtained from social media but not regularly and periodically. Access to information is done depending on the mood or mood. Abstract

During the outbreak, all educational institutions turned to online learning to reduce the risk of infection and prevent the spread of COVID-19. A cross-sectional study design aimed to study factors related to satisfaction with online learning during the COVID-19 outbreak among Public Health students. A total of 163 students of Bachelor of Public Health students from the Sirindhorn College of Public Health in Ubon Ratchathani province, Thailand, were included in our study. We gathered data from May to June 2021. An online survey for the COVID-19 outbreak was used to gather data. We calculated descriptive statistics; frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation. We analysed the data using descriptive statistics and computed the independent t-test to understand the relationship between variables. We found that majority of the participants were female (82.8%). Participants studied either a Community Public Health program (54.0%) or a Dental Public Health program (46.0%). Most participants used computer notebooks (79.8%) for online study. Google Classroom was the most frequently used online learning platform (98.2%). Overall, online learning was found moderately satisfying (mean=3.300, S.D.=0.920). There was a statistically significant difference (p<0.05) in the mean satisfaction scores compared to gender and two major programs. When comparing satisfaction with online learning between gender and two major programs, we found that there were statistically significant differences in online learning methods, contents of the curriculum, supporting factors, an evaluation, and the instructor. Additional supporting factors were no statistically significant differences between the two major programs

Abstract

This research work aimed at identifying and analyzing errors and mistakes that Congolese EFL learners commit in their written productions with regard to spelling and morpho-syntax aspects. We carried out the investigation in two senior secondary schools: Réconciliation and Kintélé, located in Brazzaville. To obtain reliable results, we used for data collection the EFL learners’ copies from grade 3 of these two schools of our choice. Besides, we used the descriptive analytical method and Corder’s errors analysis theory (EA) to identify and analyze the types of errors and mistakes made in writing. The results show that EFL learners mostly make interlingual errors (interference between French and English) at the level of selection (morphological and grammatical errors) and of syntax (misordering of words).  To enhance EFL learners’ writing skills, we suggest some strategies and techniques teachers should use during writing instruction

Abstract

This research aims to produce a digital textbook using eXe format (E-Learning XHTML Editor) in the History subject of the second grade of senior high school in a chapter focusing on “Dutch Military Aggression.” The textbook has been proven valid and feasible to increase students’ engagement in History learning. In addition, it aims to encourage students’ independent learning and help them reach minimum passing criteria (henceforth MPC), which implies the goal of improved learning effectiveness. The development of digital textbooks using eXe formats applied the ASSURE development model proposed by Sharon Smaldino et al. The digital textbook development consisted of six stages, namely (1) analyzing learners’ characteristics, (2) stating performance objectives, (3) selecting instructional methods, media, and materials, (4) utilizing the materials, (5) engaging learning in instruction, and (6) evaluating and revising. The results of the data analysis have drawn several conclusions. First, the digital textbook has been proven effective in helping satisfy students’ learning needs; 2). the digital textbook is proven an attractive learning resource for learning Indonesian History and, therefore a valuable resource to increase student interest in learning Indonesian History; 3) the digital textbook aids in increasing the effectiveness of instruction on Indonesian History, and 4) The digital textbook can be one of the references to help students better learn Indonesian History

Abstract

This study investigates students' experiences with the research process as one of Indonesia's bachelor's degree graduation requirements. The underpinning for the research procedure was Carol Dweck's notion of fixed and growth mindsets. This study followed the qualitative phenomenology method and included semi-structured interviews. Eleven undergraduate seniors or fourth-year students participated in interviews lasting 45 to 60 minutes. According to the data, students had difficulty with the three stages of the research process. (1) Erroneously identified the problem and had difficulty discussing it with the supervisor. (2) Lack of comprehension and application of the research method. (3) Insufficient scholarly writing. Moreover, individuals described two contributing elements, first, psychological factors such as motivation and the desire to conduct the independent study. Second, social issues inside the supervisory and academic institutions. Participants proposed that the complete technique course and academic writing should be taught by faculty beginning in the third year after mastery of the theoretical framework. Research involving quantitative surveys is required to determine the correlation between each internal and external variable
