Abstract

A good understanding of the context of the discourse will help someone in understanding the overall content of a novel. Therefore, this research is motivated by the importance of understanding the context of discourse. The problem in this research is what is the physical context, epistemic context, linguistic context, and social context in Abel Tasman's novel Raja Kate Dikepung Asap? This study aims to describe, analyze, interpret, and conclude the physical context, epistemic context, linguistic context, and social context in Abel Tasman's novel Raja Kate Dikepung Asap. The theory used to analyze the research problem is the theory of "discourse analysis" proposed by Sumarlam (2008). The approach in this research is a qualitative approach with content analysis method. Based on the results of data analysis, it was found data on the types of contexts consisting of physical context, epistemic context, linguistic context, and social context in Abel Tasman's novel Raja Kate Dikepung Asap. The physical context that states the place in Abel Tasman's novel Raja Kate Dikepung Smoke mostly discusses the Bukit Barisan forest and the kingdom in a dark hole called the Batang Lubuh Kingdom. The epistemic context found in Abel Tasman's novel King Kate Is Surrounded by Smoke relates to Cunding and Suparta's shared knowledge of Kate's people and ruling a kingdom. The linguistic context found in Abel Tasman's novel Raja Kate Dikepung Asap relates to the grammatical and lexical aspects found in the novel which contains a lot of pronouns. The social context found in Abel Tasman's novel Raja Kate Dikepung Asap relates to the relationship between Cunding and Suparta as cousins, Kintaro and Suparta as friends.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe, analyze, interpret and conclude effective speaking skills with storytelling techniques for Class VIII students of SMP Metta Maitreya, Marpoyan Damai District, Pekanbaru in the academic year 2020/2021 systematically so that they can find out the actual objective picture. The theory used in this study is the theory of Hartono 2007. The sample in this study was 62 students. This research method uses a quantitative descriptive method. So overall the ability to speak effectively with storytelling techniques for Class VIII Middle School students Metta Maitreya, Marpoyan Damai District, Pekanbaru in the 2020/2021 school year is categorized as good with an average score of 76.51. The average value assessed from the aspect of reasoning is classified as good, namely 77.02 from 62 students. The average value assessed from the intonation aspect in the good category is 76.61 out of 62 students. So overall the ability to speak effectively with storytelling techniques for Class VIII Middle School students of Metta Maitreya, Marpoyan Damai District, Pekanbaru in the 2020/2021 school year is categorized as good with an average score of 76.51.

Abstract

Language attitude is a mental position or feeling towards one's own language or the language of others. This study aims to describe and analyze the negative attitude of Indonesian class VIII SMP IT Aziziyah. This research is a case study research that was carried out on February 04 - March 02, 2020. The subjects of this research were students of class VIII at SMP IT Aziziyah totaling 3 classes. The theory used by the author regarding Indonesian language attitudes is Sociolinguistics from (Chaer & Leoni, 2004) which discusses language attitudes. The data collection method used in this research is to use the method of observation and listening. Data collection techniques used are listening, recording and note-taking techniques. Data analysis techniques used to analyze the research are data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions or verification. The results showed that the language attitude of the students of SMP IT Aziziyah, Tampan District, Pekanbaru City towards the Indonesian language in the conative aspect, namely a) language loyalty totaling 12 data, b) language pride totaling 14 data, c) awareness of language norms totaling 9 data so that the total number of data students' language attitude is 35 data.

Abstract

Phrases are grammatical units consisting of two or more words that occupy a sentence function. The problems examined in this study are (1) What are the eccentric phrases contained in Berita RiauPos.co? (2) What are the endocentric phrases contained in Berita RiauPos.co? (3) What is the coordinating phrase contained in Berita RiauPos.co? (4) What are the positive phrases contained in Berita RiauPos.co? The purpose of this study is to describe, analyze, conclude and interpret exocentric, endocentric, coordinative and appositive phrases contained in Berita RiauPos.co. The theory used to analyze the problem of this research is the theory of Chaer (2012). The research method used in this research is a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. This type of research includes library research (library research). The results and conclusions of this study are (1) The eccentric phrases found in RiauPos.co include the ecocentric directive phrases in the city of Pekanbaru, because the two elements of these phrases do not have the same distribution as their components. Both with prepositions and with their central elements. The proposed phrases include non-directive ecocentric phrases, because non-directive exocentric phrases are articulus, while the central elements are words or groups of words that are categorized as verbs. (2) The endocentric phrases found in RiauPos.co include new students because one of the elements can replace their general position. (3) Coordinating phrases found in RiauPos.co include students and students of these phrases that have equivalence or declare something equivalent. (4) The positive phrases found on RiauPos.co include the Rector of Lancang Kuning University (Unilak), Dr. Junaidi, which refer to each other. All the sentences contained in Berita RiauPos.co, up to 106 sentence data were obtained.

Abstract

The research objectives are 1) To determine the construction of the assessment of reading Indonesian saga for class X SMA Negeri Tenayan Raya District. 2) to determine the construction of the assessment of reading Indonesian poetry for class X SMA Negeri Tenayan Raya Pekanbaru. The research method is a qualitative type of phenomenology. The theory used is Setiadi (2016), Yunus (2012), Suherli (2017), Djiwandono (2011), Zainal (2017). The data sources for this study were 5 Indonesian language teachers. In-depth interview data collection techniques and documentation. Phenomenological data analysis techniques. The results of the research on the construction of saga reading assessments are speech sounds, words, sentences, letters, language, reading, paying attention to reading pauses, sentence breaks, paragraph breaks, pronouncing sentence contents, letter contents, punctuation marks, appreciating the content. While the construction of the assessment of reading poetry is the sound of diction, sound, letters, sentences, rhyme, rhythm, stanzas, figure of speech, confidence, style, appreciation. The conclusion of this research is that the construction of the assessment of reading Indonesian saga in grade X is formed from thirteen sub themes, while the construction of the assessment of reading poetry consists of eleven sub themes.

Abstract

This research is based on the construction of speaking assessment in Indonesian language learning. The importance of this research is studied because it produces the basic concept of speaking assessment, especially in learning Indonesian SMA class X. The problem studied in this study is how the construction of speaking assessment in learning Indonesian for class X SMAN in Tenayan Raya District, Pekanbaru. The purpose of this study was to construct a speaking assessment in Indonesian language learning for class X SMAN in Tenayan Raya District, Pekanbaru. The main theory used by researchers is Kusumastuti (2019), Tarigan (2008), Yunus (2012) and A.K (2019). The research approach carried out using a qualitative approach. This type of research uses the type of field research. The research method uses the phenomenological method. The data analysis technique was carried out using phenomenological techniques. The data collection techniques used were in-depth interview techniques and documentation techniques. The research informants were class X Indonesian teachers at SMA Negeri 6 Pekanbaru, SMA Negeri 10 Pekanbaru, and SMA Negeri 11 Pekanbaru, totaling six teachers. Based on the analysis conducted by the researcher, the results of this study indicate that the assessment of speaking in learning Indonesian for class X at SMA Negeri 6 Pekanbaru, SMA Negeri 10 Pekanbaru, and SMA Negeri 11 Pekanbaru used forms, including (1) conversation, (2) ) pronunciation, (3) video, (4) intonation, (5) content, (6) reading, (7) practice, and (8) articulation. This study concludes that the eight forms of assessment found by researchers can be recommended to educational institutions as a concept for measuring student speaking assessment.

Abstract

As social beings, humans need tools in the form of language in interacting and socializing. The diversity of regional languages scattered throughout Indonesia is a general description of the wealth of the Indonesian people, which has a personality and elegance in its different variations. Code switching events can also occur in the form of oral and written communication. In oral communication, code switching events are usually carried out consciously by the speaker, whereas in written communication, code switching events are usually carried out with the life experience of an author. Code switching is a transition event from one code to another. If a speaker initially uses code A (for example Indonesian) and then switches to using code B (for example Javanese). This study examines two problems, namely (1) what are the types of code switching in the speeches of sellers and buyers in the Central market of Jalan Hos Cokroaminoto, Sukaramai Village, Pekanbaru City? and (2) what are the factors that cause code switching in the speeches of sellers and buyers at the Central market of Jalan Hos Cokroaminoto, Sukaramai Village, Pekanbaru City ?. The theory used in this research is the code switching theory put forward by Abdul Chaer and Leoni Agustina (2010) and Kunjana Rahardi (2010). The research approach that the author uses is a qualitative approach. The method used in this research is the content analysis method. Form the data that the authors obtained during the research conducted at the central market Jalan Hos Cokroaminoto Kelurahan Sukarama Pekanbaru city none of the external code switching data was found, all speeches between thr seller and the buyer are only contained in the internal code transfer, namely form Indonesian into Minang, Minang into Indonesian,Indonesian into javanese, javanese into Indonesian, Indonesian into Malay, and Malay into Indonesian. (2) factors that cause code switching in the speech of sellers and buyers at the Central market Jalan Hos Cokroaminoto Village Sukaramai City Pekanbaru has 8 the details are as follows : (a) the seller's annoyance to the buyer, (b) the buyer’s annoyance to the buyer to the seller, (c) the buyer has a hidden purpose, (d) the seller wants to match the code used by the buyer, (e) expression of surprise on the part of the buyer, (f) the presence of other potential buyers during the conversation, (g) the seller wants to pretend with the buyer (does not exist), and (h) the seller wants to joke with the buyer. These factors are dominated by the seller wants to match the code used by the buyer.

Abstract

Learning in the Covid-19 Pandemic Period at SMA Negeri 11 Pekanbaru. Undergraduate Program. Riau Islamic University. This research is entitled "Implementation of Indonesian language learning during the covid-19 pandemic at SMA Negeri 11 Pekanbaru". Implementation of learning is one of the steps that must be taken by teachers and students. Based on the observations that the authors got in the field in the preliminary activities the teacher did not carry out the implementation of learning in explaining the learning objectives or basic competencies to be achieved, in the core activities the teacher rarely carried out exploration, elaboration and confirmation activities. The problem in this research is how to implement Indonesian language learning during the covid-19 pandemic at SMA Negeri 11 Pekanbaru. This study aims to find out how the implementation of learning during the covid-19 pandemic at SMA Negeri 11 Pekanbaru seen from preliminary activities, core activities and closing activities. The theory used in this study is Kunandar (2011). The method in this study is a qualitative case study method. The techniques used in this research are questionnaires, observations, interviews and documentation studies. The results showed that based on case studies, it was found that learning implementation activities were ineffective and students were less active in learning based on the results of filling out questionnaires and connecting with online learning lesson plans, it can be seen in its implementation that not all activities were carried out by teachers starting from preliminary activities, core activities, activities closing.

Abstract

This research is entitled rhetoric techniques in Joko Widodo’speech on Youtube. The reason why the writer is writer is interested in choosing the title of this research is because Joko Widodo always makes speeches with sentences that are easy to understand and understand as well as practical speech content with a relaxed speech style that is easily digested by listeners research problems: (1) How is the rhetorical technique of Joko Widodo’s pathos form in a speech on Youtube? (2) How is the rhetorical technique of Joko Widodo’s logos in a speech on Youtube? Joko Widodo in a speech on Youtube aims to describe, analyze, interpret and conclude the pathos and logos techniques of Joko Widodo in a speech on Youtube. This research includes qualitative method. The source of this research data is Joko Widodo in a speech downloaded from Youtube in January 2020. This study uses the theory proposed by Suhandang (2009), Keraf (2006), and Abidin (2013). This research uses documentation technique. The results of research on Joko Widodo’s rhetorical technique in speeches on Youtube found that there were 15 techniques, including (1) pathos in the form of hope 5 data, hatred 2 data. Affection 2 data. Emotion 1 data (2) logos in the form of enthusiasm 5 data used Joko Widodo. So it can be concluded that the rhetorical technique used by Joko Widodo is more dominant using the pathos rhetoric technique in the form of hopes to influence the listener to be enthusiastic about carrying out activities, especially in achieving life goals, while the logos rhetoric technique as a whole uses an entiment strategy. Entiment strategy is used to form a logic or frame of mind.

Abstract

Indonesian language textbooks issued by the Ministry of Education and Culture are certainly better than those written individually. However, it turns out that there are still and the authours found language errors in thhem, especially at the syntactic level. The prolems in this researchhh are (1) how are the language erros in the syntactic level of the phrase field contained in the Inonesian language texsbook for class VIIISMP/MTs curriculum 2013 published by the Ministry of Education and Culture? class VIIISMP/MTs curriculum 2013 published by the Ministry of Education and Culture?. The purpose of this study is to describe, analyze, interpret, and conclude language errors at the syntactic level in the field of phrases and sentences contained in the Indonesian language textbooks for VIIISMP/MTs curriculum 2013 published by the Ministry of Education and Culture. The theory used in this research is the theory proposed by Setyawati (2010). The method used is content analysis method. The approach in this research is qualitative research. The results of this study are: (1) language errors at the syntactic level in the phrase field into 5 data found, among others: the influence of regional languages, the use of excessive or redundant elements, the use of excessive or redundant elements, the use of inappropriate prepositions. (2) language errors at he syntactic level in the verse field were found, including: illogical sentences, and the use of foreign terms.
