Abstract

AbstractThe purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Disclosure on Cost of Equity Capital. CSR disclosure index is measured based on Global Reporting Initiative standards, while Cost of Equity Capital is measured by Capital Asset Pricing Model (CAPM). This study uses manufacturing companies which is listed on Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) in 2010. By purposive sampling, this research obtained 72 companies as a samples. The control variables used are financial leverage and firm size. Multiple regression analysis by SPSS 16 was run for testing the hypothesis. The result show that CSR disclosure and financial leverage have no effect to Cost of Equity. Then, firm size have positive effect to Cost of Equity.

Abstract

AbstractDevelopment focus was more on macroeconomic growth during New Order era. Consequently, a significant development inequality occurred among regions with a potential conflict. Considering the problem, central government enacted local autonomy policy in 1999 and revised by Act No. 32 of 2004. The policy is expected to make local governments being able to organize discretionally more effective and efficient local developments. It is also expected to occur in Lamongan Regency. The research aims to identify leading sectors and to analyze change pattern of economic structure of Lamongan Regency of 2006-2010.Shift Share’s Esteban Marquilas is used to identify the leading sectors and pattern of economic structure change can be known from this. The results indicated farming and services as the leading sector. Economy of Lamongan is in transition dominated by primer to secondary and tertiary sectors

Abstract

AbstractThis paper analyzes the behaviour of milk import in Indonesia during 1985-2010. Using an Error Correction Model (ECM), it finds that in the long run, factors influencing the milk import are percapita income, domestic milk real price, and imported milk price. In the short run, the import is influenced by population size of more than 5-year old residents, real domestic price milk, real price of imported milk, and exchange rates. Variables that do not influence milk imports, both in the short run and in the long run, are national milk production, milk exports, population size of less than 5-year old residents, and the gonvernment policy on the deletion of milk imports.

Abstract

AbstractAn attitude descripbes a person’s relatively consistent evaluations, feelings, and tendencies toward an object or idea. Attitudes put poeple into a frame of mind of liking or disliking things, of moving toward or away from them. Attitude is the one important of the buying process, especialty for psychological factor. Attitude is the result of learning process. An attitude have three componen, and they componen relations each other. They are cognitive, affective, and behavior. Cognitive are knwolegde and belief an object, affective is a tendeny for the object, and behavior is tendency to make action to the object. The object in this reseach is tourism, that is Taman Kyai Langgeng, Magelang. The objective in this reseach want to know consumer attitude. Tourism object must to analys the atributes of an attitude. They are location, services, facility, and the price an object, based on demoghraphy caracteristic.

Abstract

 AbstractThe paper attempts to analysis the concept of market mechanism in Islamic view as developed by the Muslim scholars. The ideas of Muslim scholars are at large remained unexplored who had offered rather detailed and sophisticated discourse on market and pricing mechanism. Our study is confined to the ideas of following representative personalities such as Abu Yusuf, al-Ghazali, Ibn Taimiyah and Ibn Khaldun. The paper concludes with the note that considerable ideas on the market and pricing mechanism were found with the Muslim scholars long before the mid-eighteenth century, and that the views of Islamic writers were far detailed and clear. This requires reconsideration on Schumpeter’s statement about mechanism of pricing that nothing worth mentioning existed before the middle of eighteenth century. Especially the contribution of the Arab-Islamic scholars to economic thought be rehabilitated in the science of economics for the sake of doctrinal continuity as well as objectivity.

Abstract

 Abstract This research aims to examine the role of brand preference, luxury brand perception and country of origin in influencing consumers to buy Blackberry smarthphone, as well as to examine the role of country of origin in influencing luxury brand perception. The population of this research are students in economics faculty of Indonesia Islamic University, and the sample used is 250 respondent. This research was found that the most devotee of blackberry smartphone is women, with 53,6%, aged between 18-23 years old, with a pocket money between Rp1.000.000-Rp2.000.000 monthly and expenditure of Rp500.000-Rp1.499.999 monthly. By using Structural Equation Modeling, the results show that there are positive and significant impact on the country of origin to the purchase intention, positive and significant impact on the country of origin to luxury brand perception, positive and significant impact on the luxury brand perception to purchase intention and positive and significant impact on the brand preference to purchase intention of blackberry smartphone’s consumer in economics faculty of Indonesia Islamic University.

Abstract

AbstractThe purposes of this research is to analyze and suggest a service quality improvement in Kombokarno Hotel. This research used ServQual dimension variables that consist of tangible, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy as a dimensions of service quality. It used 144 guests of Kombokarno Hotel as a sample for the research. The result of the collected data then be tested based on it’s validation and reliability by using SPSS 16.0 software. The result of data processing shows the validity of each question variable in the questionnaire. Then the data be analyzed using ServQual method to see the Gap between hope and reality. Furthermore it is processed by Kartesius diagram to see what performance that need to be improved. The result of the researched shows that the cleanness of the hotel always in good term, the electronic utilities (lamp, AC, TV, etc), are functioned well, and the hotel’s building ‘good look’ became the most priority to improve the performance of service quality in the hotel.

Abstract

Abstract This research is replicated from research paper that has been done by Comunale (2006). The purpose of this research is to analyze the effect of ethic orientation, gender and knowledge on accounting profession and accounting scandal on accounting student’s assessment towards unethical auditor and its’ effect on student’s interests in accounting field and profession as auditor in accounting firm. The hypothesis testing shows that the occuring accounting scandals do not have significant effects in accounting student’s perception towards unethical auditor. However, there are factors that may affect student’s willingness and interest to study accounting and to work as auditor in accounting firm. The evidence cloncluded two accepted hypothesis: student’s knowledge on accounting profession and accounting scandal effect on declining interest to study accounting and the student’s idealism which may contribute to their falling interest on working as auditor in accounting firm.

Abstract

Abstract One of the effort in combating poverty and urban community created by the government is the community empowerment and development program those are, Program Pengembangan Kecamatan (PPK) or Program Nasional Pemberdayaan Masyarakat (PNPM). The PPK/PNPM expected to accelerate poverty eradication and sufficiency society based on the development by increasing public capacity, local government; and the provision of facilities and the social economy infrastructures. The research identifies the PPK/PNPM success both in the main economic indicators and the managerial skill. The success indicators program consist of: increasing revenue (income indicator), poverty reduction, efficiency in program deliver, and financial viability. The research obtained primary and secondary data. The primary data will be analyzed with quantitative analysis with Mann-Whitney u test, and the secondary data will be analyzed comparing with success indicators index.The reseach output indicates that average income indicator 10,59%, poverty reduction 9,48%, average efficiency in program delivery 10,59% and financial viability 11,51%. The managerial skill indicates have influenced to the succes of the program.

Abstract

Abstract The key success in winning the competition is the ability to achieve the objectives in creating and maintaining the customers. Therefore, the management of the program has to satisfy the customers. One way to obtain the customer satisfaction is to deliver a quality service required by the customers. It means that the management of the business schools need to have a good understanding on students need that there is no gap between the expectation of the students and the service they received. Thus, the understanding of their need is highly required the quality service can be provided. Based on the result of the study that the processed using servqual analysis instrument, the hierarchy and correlation ranking, there is a significant difference between consumers expectation in School of Management in Yogyakarta.
