Abstract

In one Worship in the Church, determining the Leader of Praise is a position in itself that gets serious attention for the Shepherds. Because if you make the wrong choice, worship will lose the opportunity to prepare the congregation to enjoy the Word of the Lord. On the other hand, the Church Music Team that accompanies the resounding songs of praise is also a part that gives color and flavor to a worship. Denominationally it can be said that the music’s team of the Charismatic, Pentacostal-pantecostal, and Pentecostal church denominations of Bethel has its place for the congregation in each worship. The Community Service Team took the opportunity to provide theoretical and practical training to the Song Leader and the Music’s Team to several Churches in Medan. Methods are selected by combining onsite activities for practice and online for the delivery of theories. The results were satisfactory from the participants. This activity is important because it is given to 37 participants from four church denominations who claim to feel the need for similar training.

Abstract

Baning is a village located in Sekucing Labai Village, Simpang Hulu district, Ketapang district, west Kalimantan province. In this village stands the Gloria Baning Indonesian Faithful Christian Church. Based on observations made, some members of the GKSI Gloria Baning congregation understand that the duties and responsibilities of a husband are only to meet financial needs, some say that the spiritual needs of family members do not include the duties of the head of the household (each individual’s business), and some say that the duty and responsibility of preaching the gospel are only done by God’s servants (priests). This is what prompted this service activity to be carried out for the GKSI Gloria Baning congregation as an effort to increase the spirituality of those who were there. Based on the observations made, some children in Batang Palli hamlet know how to weave, but they do not do the weaving process. Others don’t know how to weave, and they only know it as a parent’s job. This is what encourages education for the children who are there. Abstract

The Pentecostal academic community is responsible for echoing Pentecostal theology and spirituality for the local congregation. However, the courage and ability to carry out this responsibility must continue to be improved through training and mentoring. This activity aims to increase the inventory of Pentecostalism discourse for Pentecostal and Ecumenical scholars through the implementation of a dissertation seminar in the Pentatalk program by the Association of Indonesian Pentecostal/Charismatic Scholars (Aspenkris). Dissertation studies from Pentecostal academics will strengthen their identity as Pentecostalists for teachers. The implementation method is an educational webinar through the Zoom meeting platform. The activity results show that, firstly, providing a broad discourse and discourse on pentecostalism both in Indonesia and abroad must be carried out immediately. Second, this activity can reduce the stigma and understanding of Pentecostalism, which is dwells on the Holy Spirit alone. Third, this activity establishes and increases the dialogue between Pentecostalism and ecumenicalism, which is still minimal among theologians and ecclesiastical practitioners.

Abstract

The condition of children addicted to smartphones in this digital era is alarming. The same condition also occurs among the children and youth of GPIN Bukit Zaitun. This condition exacerbates the absence of the role of parents and Sunday school teachers in educating children in this digital era. Therefore, through this research, two things will be answered: first, how is the influence of parents and Sunday school teachers on the use of smartphones by children and adolescents? Second, how are the efforts of parents and Sunday school teachers in dealing with smartphone addiction children? This study uses quantitative methods with data collection techniques using questionnaires distributed to parents and Sunday school teachers at GPIN Bukit Zaitun, as well as providing socialization to understand the efforts that parents and Sunday school teachers can make. The data obtained found that parents and Sunday school teachers significantly influenced disciplining and approaching children and adolescents. From the socialization, it is also known that the solution that can increase the role of parents and Sunday school teachers is by counselling them with self-management methods and disciplining them.
