Abstract

This review aims to describe the model, characteristics, and design of blended learning, to describe the trend of research blended learning in supporting the development of students' mathematical thinking skills and to provide recommendations for blended learning in supporting the development of students' mathematical thinking skills in the future. The method used in this paper is an article review method which is carried out in three stages, namely identifying keywords related to blended learning in developing mathematical thinking skills, article search strategies, and analyzing articles. Blended learning is a combination of learning patterns, between face-to-face learning and online learning. The trend of Blended learning is carried out with online learning and face-to-face learning in class is carried out alternately (rotational model), using various LMS. The results of the article analysis show that the blended learning stage can develop students' mathematical thinking skills, namely the seeking of information stage students are directed to think critically. At this stage students are more motivated and independent in finding or accessing materials online. Then at the stage of acquisition of information and synthesizing of knowledge, students are directed to solve problems, use mathematical understanding skills, reasoning, connection and representation skills, communication and collaboration, and think critically through discussions, presentations, and work on practice questions. In addition, students look more enthusiastic and motivated because it is adjusted to their learning style and learning speed and students are directed to be independent in learning the material. The researcher recommends a blended learning design using the flipped classroom model with online learning using the Moodle LMS in which each stage of blended learning, students are directed to rely on mathematical thinking skills. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui besar pengaruh penggunaan problem based learning terhadap kemampuan berpikir matematis siswa dan perbedaan pengaruh penggunaan problem based learning terhadap kemampuan berpikir matemati siswa ditinjau dari jenis berpikir matematis, jenjang pendidikan, dan tahun penelitian. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif dengan analisis data menggunakan meta-analisis. Metode yang digunakan adalah survei dengan sampel 42 artikel penelitian eksperimen. Hasil analisis secara keseluruhan rata-rata besar pengaruh penggunaan problem based learning memiliki pengaruh yang tinggi terhadap kemampuan berpikir matematis siswa yaitu sebesar 0,86. Selain itu, hasil uji hipotesis perbedaan pengaruh berdasarkan jenis berpikir matematis memberikan hasil signifikansi , dan perbedaan pengaruh berdasarkan jenjang pendidikan memberikan hasil , sehingga tidak ada perbedaan pengaruh penggunaan problem based learning terhadap kemampuan berpikir matematis siswa jika ditinjau berdasarkan jenis berpikir matematis dan jenjang pendidikan, sedangkan perbedaan pengaruh berdasarkan tahun penelitian memberikan hasil , ini menunjukan terdapat perbedaan pengaruh problem based learning terhadap kemampuan berpikir matematis siswa ditinjau dari tahun penelitian.

Abstract

This study aims to develop online learning tools in the Algebra Structure course. This research is a development using the Kemp model. The learning tools produced in this study are RPS, RTS, teaching materials, learning videos and learning outcomes tests. The results of the validation and testing of the learning tools show that learning tools are valid, practical and effective. The average validator's assessment of the RPS, RTS, Teaching Materials, Learning Videos and Tests Learning outcomes are 3.72, 3.76, 3.76, and 3.72 with good criteria. The average value of observations by observer 1, observer 2 and observer 3 is 4.00, 4.06, and 4.12, with good categories. The results of student responses showed that 93.482% of students satisfied with the teaching component, 84.09% of students satisfied with the novelty of the learning component, 94.87% interest in participating in further learning, 88.88% expressed satisfaction with language clarity, 91.42% satisfied with the appearance of the material teaching and learning videos. The validation of the questions showed that there were 3 items with high validity, and there were 6 items with sufficient validity. Furthermore, the test reliability coefficient = 0.79 which indicates that the learning outcomes test has high reliability and is used without revision. Thus, the validation and testing of the device shows that student activities are effective, lecturers' ability to manage learning is good, student responses are positive and test results are valid and reliable.

Abstract

This research is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach that aims to describe the mathematical literacy ability of students with kinesthetic learning styles. The subject in this study was a fifth-grade elementary school (SD) student with a kinesthetic learning style. Data were collected using documentation, interviews, and observation. Data analysis techniques used in this research are data reduction, data presentation, verification, and decision. This study gives the results that: (1) the level of mathematical literacy ability of the research subjects is at the Cakap level and needs to be given proper learning, namely problem-based learning; (2) some calculation notations are not proper so that it is necessary to strengthen problem-solving procedures so that there are no errors in strategy selection. The results of this study are expected to be used as a reference for further research related to students' mathematical literacy skills with kinesthetic learning styles.

Abstract

Metacognitive ability is one of the important factors that affect students' mathematics learning achievement. This study investigated the profile of students' metacognitive ability. This study aimed to describe the level of students' metacognitive abilities in general and based on each aspect and indicators. The method of this research is descriptive quantitative by taking 1 class as sample from 4 classes population, with the sampling method used is random sampling. The instruments used in this research was Metacognitive Awareness Inventory (MAI) questionnaire. The results showed tha generally most of students have a good and good enough metacognition ability. It is also found that for each aspect most of students have good and good enough metacognition knowledge and metacognition skills. Meanwhile, based on its indicator for each aspect it is found that there were students with poor declarative knowledge (aspect of metacognition knowledge) and also there were students with poor evaluation skills (aspect of metacognition skills). For others indicators, it is found that students have good and good enough procedural knowledge, condisional knowledge, planning skills, and monitoring skills.Keywords: Metacognitive ability, metacognitive knowledge, metacognitive skills.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the difficulties of students of 4th gradersin GMIT Oenesu Elementary School, Kupang, NTT based on their mathematical understanding ability in solving story problems in FPB and KPK materials. The research method used is qualitative descriptive by describing written answers and interviews to students' mathematical comprehension abilities. The subjects in this study were students of 4th gradersin GMIT Oenesu Elementary School, Kupang, NTT which numbered 10 people. Based on the test results, 3 students from low, moderate, and high-skilled subjects were taken. The instruments used are written tests and interviews. The results showed that 8 out of 10 students had difficulty in solving story problems in FPB and KPK materials based on their mathematical understanding skills. It was also found that the difficulties experienced by students were related to (1) Difficulty restating the concept, characterized by students not yet understanding the problems experienced by S1, (2) Difficulty classifying objects based on the fulfillment or absence of the requirements that make up the concept, characterized by students unable to write down what is known and asked from the questions experienced by S1, (3) Difficulty applying the concept of algorithms, characterized by student errors in completing FPB and KPK experienced by S1 and S2, and (4) Difficulty associating various concepts, characterized by students have not been able to determine what calculation operations can be used next to solve the problems experienced by S1, S2 and S3. In addition, difficulty in associating various concepts is the dominant difficulty carried out by students.

Abstract

This research aims to produce products in the form of learning media based on android applications using Powerpoint and I-Spring on line and angle materials for junior high school students in grade VII that are valid, practical and effective. The method used in this study is the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE development model consisting of 5 stages, namely analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation. Data collection techniques and instruments used were interviews, questionnaires and tests. The data analysis technique used is quantitative and qualitative analysis techniques. The results showed that the learning media based on the android application that was developed met the valid, practical and effective eligibility criteria. The results of the media eligibility were obtained from the assessment of material experts with an average of 4.4 and media expert assessments of 4.4 so that they were categorized as "valid", the results of the student evaluation tests obtained a passing presentation of 78.6% which was included in the "Effective" category, while the average response to the use of subject teachers is 3.4, and the student response to this learning media is 3.48 so it is included in the "practical" category.

Abstract

One of the schools that applies online learning is SMA Negeri 2 Kefamenanu. Problems obtained from the results of online learning interviews at schools are less than optimal due to mastery of Android processing, less than optimal network access, lack of responsibility for students in doing assignments, lack of discipline so that learning outcomes are minimal. The purpose of the study was to find out (1) how much influence online learning had on student learning outcomes (2) how much influence independent learning had on student learning outcomes (3) how much influence online learning and independent learning had on student learning outcomes at SMA Negeri 2 Kefamenanu. The type of research is quantitative research, ex-post facto method which consists of two independent variables and one dependent variable. The sample of this research is the students of class X MIPA, totaling 90 people. Techniques and instruments of data collection using questionnaires, documentation and student learning outcomes using report cards. Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that (1) there is no effect of online learning on student learning outcomes with an R² value of 0.003 (2) there is no influence of independent learning on student learning outcomes with an R² value of 0.031 (3) there is an influence of online learning and learning independence on student learning outcomes of SMA Negeri 2 Kefamenanu with an R² value of 0.080.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the critical thinking skills of eighth grade junior high school students class VIII on several materials consisting of 12 student. This type of research is descriptive research with a quilitative approach. The data collected in the form of critical thinking ability test result and interviews. Furthermore, the data collected was analyzed based on the indicators of critical thinking skills that have been set by the researcher which includes interpretation, analysis, evaluation, and inference. The results of data analysis obtained results, namely (a) On indicators with high thinking skills can interpret well, student with moderate abilities can also interpret well while students with low abilities have not interpreted well; (b) On indicators of analysis, all research subjects from students with high, medium and low abilities have not been able to analyze well;(c) On evaluation and inference indicators, students with high abilities can evaluate and inference well, students with moderate abilities can also evaluate and inference well while students with low abilities have not been able to do evaluation and inference well.

Abstract

This research conducted to evaluate the implementation of the Learning Environment Survey for senior high school teachers in Indonesia which has been carried out in September and October 2021. This is a qualitative-research using in-depth interview techniques. Sources of data are seven teachers of MAN (a government Islamic school) in Alor island, Indonesia, who have filled out this survey in September and one proctor of the National Assessment of MAN Alor. Data analysis is caried out by looking for sub-themes, then determining the relationship between sub-themes to gain understanding. The results of the research are as follows: first, the teacher’s data which are used as the basis for determining the respondents to the survey is considered not valid enough. Secondly, several questions in the survey were considered too sensitive to be questioned because seems like to stir up the privacy of the education unit. The third, questions in this survey are considered too many, too long, and repeat the same sentence a lot
