Abstract

The film "Samsara" is a fictional film inspired by a creator's anxiety about the characteristics of bullying that is increasingly occurring in the social environment in Indonesia. In order to create a film work requires the formation of audio visual. This is what underlies the author to discuss the application of diegetic sound-taking techniques to create film works. The creation of the fictional film "Samsara" uses a qualitative method of creation. Data relating to the aforementioned problems were collected using interview, observation, and literature study techniques. The data collected above is sharpened with audio theory, diegetic dimension theory, and non-diegetic dimension theory. The creators made this theory as study material according to their use in answering several things that could support the message and mood in the film "Samsara". The application of diegetic theory in the film "Samsara" which emphasizes atmosphere or ambiance as well as dialogue, monologues and others can be a builder of atmosphere and time and space indicators of a scene based on the setting of a scene, meaning that if there is a visual of a scene, there must be a sound that is served from the scene, thus supporting the need for narrative and story telling films that make it easier for the audience to digest the scenes in the film through audio. The output of this final project is an action drama genre, with a duration of twenty-four minutes, and has a target age from adolescence to adulthood. The film "Samsara" is a 2k (2.39: 1) digital cinema standard with a resolution of 2048x858.

Abstract

The film "Balada Nanda Mencari Nama" is a film work that raises the phenomenon of toxic positivity in the community as a topic of discussion in the main problems contained in the film. The realization of the film "Balada Nanda Mencari Nama" was formulated in two problems. The first refers to the concept of the film "Balada Nanda Mencari Nama" which is used in order to visualize the phenomenon of toxic positivity. The second refers to the building element of the film "Balada Nanda Mencari Nama" in order to become a communication medium for the phenomenon of toxic positivity. The design and creation of the film "Balada Nanda Mencari Nama" is based on sources and data collected using qualitative research methodologies with phenomenological approach. The data and information collected have been analyzed with the theory of the form and style of film used as a dissecting the problem. Film form theory discusses the formation of a film "Balada Nanda Mencari Nama" or what is called the concept of a film. Meanwhile, the film style theory contains a system of characteristics from the application of the aspects contained in the film and building a film form. The process of designing the concept of creation based on the research method used, produces a conceptual design and technical depiction of the phenomenon of toxic positivity in the film. The draft concept of the film relates to the use of a film of poetic realism in the film "Balada Nanda Mencari Nama". The technical design of the depiction involves building elements in the film such as mise en scene, cinematography, editing, and sound elements in the film. The technical design of the depiction involving the building elements in the film will be used as a reference in the process of creating the film "Balada Nanda Mencari Nama".

Abstract

Music is a part of culture. But nowadays, some people who listen to music do not know the musicians by the music they hear. Starting in this condition, more effort was needed to introduce musicians. One of the efforts that can be done is through music videos, which is a media for promoting music and musicians. Based on this information, the author wants to promote a grunge music group that is not yet known to many people named Mr.Hit. Mr.Hit was chosen because this music group raised social issues that occurred in society into the song. Based on this phenomenon, writer is interested to create a production design of grunge music video of Mr.Hit. The theory used in this production design consists of codes and convention theory by Goodwin (1992) and logic of visual structure theory by Goodwin (1992). The method in this design is a qualitative method with interpretive analysis. The process of compiling the production design and production techniques as well as the music video theory of "Halusinasi", "Rock Your Way" and "Sang Pejuang" is followed by the design process of production design and production techniques. The result of this creation is the production design and music video production techniques for "Halusinasi", "Rock Your Way" and "Sang Pejuang" as the basis for making music videos which consist of symbols and techniques. In "Halusinasi" writer and the song writer agree on the meaning of the song about a schizophrenic person facing hallucinations and delusions. In the song "Rock Your Way" writer and the song writer agree on the meaning of the song about the spirit of living in any condition. In “Sang Pejuang” writer and the song writer agree on the meaning of the song about the people's struggle to voice their aspirations.

Abstract

Samsara film is an action drama genre film with the story preaching an emotional and tense feeling as an experience for each audience, the writer is responsible for determining the cinematographic concept that will be used in samsara films in supporting the needs of narrative elements in the film. Based on this the authors as cinematographers chose to apply dynamic camera movement techniques, to provide elements of dramatic, realism and audience participation. In embodying the concept the writer uses qualitative description methods such as observation of the reference film, interviews with Ical Tanjung as a national cinematographer, opinion surveys about dynamic camera movements to the public and supported by cinematographic theories from Joseph V.Mascelli and Himawan Pratista who explain Framming : composition, angle, continuity, lighting, color and aspect ratio and camera movement. In realizing cinematographic techniques in Samsara films, in addition to using cinematographic elements such as angles, three point lighting, aspect ratio and type of shot, the writer also uses handheld techniques because basically dynamic cameras have a flexible nature and move freely to follow the movement of the story so that each battle scene, Dramatic and tense moments in his preformance can be easily enshrined to build mood and support the narrative element needs of Samsara films.

Abstract

Editing is the process of compiling, reviewing, selecting, then collecting audio and video material during the production process. The role of an editor is very important, where the final result of the editing process is one of the aspects that determine the quality of a film. An editor must also be able to strengthen storytelling in a film. One of the important elements contained in storytelling is the atmosphere of a scene. There are several techniques that can strengthen the atmosphere of a film scene, one of which is the fast cut editing technique, where this technique will be applied to a film entitled "Samsara". The method used to support the application of fast cut editing techniques is the library method and interviews by reading books related to fast cut editing techniques and their functions. Supporting aspects in implementing fast cut editing techniques include rhythmic and temporal aspects, through the application of fast cut editing techniques so that the atmosphere contained in the scenes in the film "Samsara" can be felt by the audience and the audience will be able to enjoy the scene.

Abstract

A narrative storytelling through audio visual that tells about the conflict of a new married couple. Narrative film with the concept of timeloop has uniqueness That means a looping scene that makes the main character could change each action. The concept of timeloop is still rarely used in the Indonesian Film Industry. Therefore, making the concept of timeloop can make a development for the film industry in Indonesia. The concept is packaged by combining a little culture about the elements of locality in the conflicts that occur in the patriarchal system in Bali. The patriarchal system places men as holders of power in the family. Some family life in Bali, which is the backbone is a woman. So narrative and visual will be applied in this writing. The creation of the fiction film " Cakhra Kala " was carried out to find out the process of translating a fictional story into an audio visual work. A concept created using the planning stage and the applied stage method. In the film " Cakhra Kala ", not only audio can deliver narrative stories, but a narrative is explained through images that have meaning. Images that have this meaning will lead the audience to enjoy the story. This narrative theory has reference from David Bordwell’s book named “Narration in the Fiction Film”.The result of this creation is a fictional film " Cakhra Kala " created with a gradual process. It starts with making story ideas, story lines, characterizations, the production process, and the post-production stage. The creation of the fiction film " Cakhra Kala " and narrative visual concept are expected to help the development of the Indonesian film industry in creating a unique story that can be raised and combined in line with the habits of the Indonesian people, especially in Bali.

Abstract

The editing aspect is a technique that is well known in the film world, especially editing. At the beginning of the development of film, filmmakers were well aware of the powerful influence of the editing aspect in manipulating time and space. Editors can choose one of the four aspects of editing, one of which is the rhythmic aspect which will be applied to the making of a film entitled "Ego". This writing will examine how the application of the rhythmic aspects to each scene and how the rhythmic aspects can influence the narrative elements in the film "Ego". The method used is the method of creation including the creation stage (idea creation), the planning stage (library research and observation methods) and the implementation stage (pre-production, production and post-production). The main theory in this paper uses the editing theory by Mabruri (2013) regarding editing techniques using rhythmic aspects and shaping aspects of editing. The conclusion obtained in this paper is the application of the rhythmic aspect in the film "Ego" is realized by controlling the rhythm of the short shot length with sound, image size, camera movement and subject movement in the film, which is applied to the scene opening taste, 14, 15, 16, 19, 24, 25, 27 and 28. In addition, the rhythmic aspect greatly influences the narrative structure of the story in the film "Ego" through its editing elements, so that the impression of a comedy drama can be conveyed properly to the audience.

Abstract

A creativity can create a literary work by an author. Literary work can be interpreted as the result of human creation that contains elements of beauty in it. A film has its own artistic value, because a film is a combination of several types of art. The purpose of this study is to increase the love of the younger generation to the traditional cultural values of each region and to know the characteristics of the area. This research results in an assessment of the sociological aspects of the Menarung Jiwani film shop where this film tells of two friends who again find cooperation and togetherness in dancing the Barong dance.

Abstract

The documentary film "Kapten Mudita" is an audio visual media that tells the heroic story of Captain Mudita. Captain Mudita is one of the heroes of the Indonesian Independence fighters in Bali who came from Puri Kilian-Puri Agung Bangli in Bangli Regency. The discussion on the concept of the documentary film "Kapten Mudita" is formulated in one problem formulation, namely the visualization of the patriotism concept in the documentary film "Kapten Mudita" in an expository style. The method that used in this research is qualitative research methods. Data collection methods that related to the problems are carried out using the three methods, namely observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis was sharpened by the theory of expository and patriotism which was used as a knife of analysis and a handle in answering these problems. The research results from the visualization of the concept of patriotism in the documentary film "Kapten Mudita" in an expository style which is dissected with the three research methods, accompanied by expository theory and patriotism, the results that the documentary film "Kapten Mudita" is told with a three-act structure, namely the initial stage, the middle stage, and the final stage, the initial stage tells about the background of Captain Mudita, then the middle stage tells the about difficulties faced by Captain Mudita, then the final stage tells about the seconds of Captain Mudita's death, which is packed in an expository style with the concept of visual patriotism.

Abstract

The local film industry was on the brink of collapse in 2010 to 2011. The quality and theme of the film, which only pursued its sales without regard for the value it contained, is one of the reasons why Indonesia has lost interest in local films. Some observers note that the decline occurred as the saturated audience continues to be fed with the film formulaics. As a result, audiences' trust in the quality of Indonesian films was sparked. Furthermore, the perceived deficiencies from local films are the lack of managerial aspects of production regulated by the producer, as well as the resulting marketing plans. In this regard the writer formulates the problem that will be discussed in writing, which is the concept of production management and marketing design in the fictional film "Cakhra Kala". Through the film "Cakhra Kala" the writers tried to take care of the phenomenon. In spite of that "Cakhra Kala" was present with the time frame concept and time overlap in the Indonesian film industry makes it so interesting. The study aims to create a short film by knowing the steps of production management, the standard cultivation prosedure, and the marketing design that a film producer can make. The method of collecting data related to the management of a film and marketing design is literature and observation by reading books on film and watching films of the genre, mysteries, and horror. Research shows that creating good production management measures for the smooth production of films is by using management theories detailed into four elements of planning, organization, direction, and supervision. Then, when viewed from the marketing side, a film aimed at attracting the audience should be promoted to a segment it aims at, based on the use of promotional theory that has been finely defined into five aspects, including market opportunities, aiming for the spectator rate, using the right market timing, having the appeal of the spectators, and maintaining the quality of production. And film would be marketed through festivals and screenings.
