Abstract

Organizational justice is an individual's fair perception of organizational decisions taken by its leaders. Researchers conducted a psychometric analysis to determine the validity and reliability of the organizational justice scale. The organizational justice scale is based on three dimensions: distributive justice, procedural justice, and interactional justice. The pilot study involved 36 students who were members of the Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto, Indonesia. The validity test uses content validity, product-moment item selection while measuring reliability using Cronbach's alpha which is analyzed using SPSS version 25. The analysis results prove that 32 items are feasible and reliable with Cronbach's alpha value of 0.948. Thus, the organizational justice scale can be used for research on student organizations.

Abstract

The researcher conducted a psychometric analysis to know the school well-being scale’s validity and reliability and understand the dimensions that could form the school well-being variable. School well-being is a complex concept because it involves various essential elements in the teaching and learning process. School well-being is useful to help create a conducive learning environment and achieve learning goals in schools. The school well-being variable was measured using four dimensions from Konu & Rimpelä, namely having, loving, being, and health status. Forty students of SMK Muhammadiyah X in Ajibarang District, Banyumas, Indonesia, were involved. Analysis of research data to measure validity uses the corrected item-total correlation formula, while to measure reliability using Cronbach’s alpha which is analyzed using SPSS version 25. The analysis results prove that from the four dimensions of school well-being, there are 26 valid items and have a reliability coefficient of 0.903. Thus, the school well-being scale can be used for research.

Abstract

Chinese Indonesian have been often treated as an outsider within the Indonesian society. Such a situation had happened for a long time. The discriminative experience of Chinese Indonesian came in the form of racial stereotypes and prejudice. In this study, we analyze the correlation between the discrimination narrative and Chinese Indonesian’s national identity. We collected our data through a questionnaire and involved 126 students in Jakarta as our subjects. The questionnaire consists of a national identity variable composed of four dimensions, namely fundamental (6 items, reliability 0.675), instrumental (4 items, reliability 0.520), natural (4 things, reliability 0.798), actualization (4 items, reliability 0.639). Discrimination narrative variables consist of master narrative (10 items, reliability 0.832) and counter-narrative (8 items, reliability 0.781). The selection of those subjects was made using the convenience sampling technique. We employed the correlational method to analyze the data. Our analysis showed that master narrative was not correlated with National Identity with a p-value = 0.179 (> 0.05). Meanwhile, the narrative counter correlates with National Identity with a value of p = 0.008 (<0.05) and a correlation coefficient of 0.234. This means that if someone accepts a counter-narrative statement, it will add value to their National Identity.

Abstract

Psychological distress is a harmful condition that can affect individuals directly or indirectly over time and affect physical health conditions and mental conditions. This study aims to determine the description of psychological distress in converts. This type of research is qualitative research with a phenomenological model and data collection methods carried out by in-depth interviews and documentation. The informants of this study were three people, one man was 59 years old and had converted to Islam for 36 years and two women, the first was 40 years old and had converted to Islam for 18 years, the second was 66 years old and had converted to Islam for 41 years. The results of this study indicate that the religious conversion experienced by the informant has a relationship with psychological distress, where the process follows the interpersonal and situational factors shared by the informant. The informant decides to convert to Islam. The interpersonal factors experienced by the informants occurred in the second stage of religious conversion, namely, the phase of unease. In this phase, religious teachings are believed to bring peace no longer or cause psychological distress to him. Informants make comparisons from the previous instructions to the teachings of Islam. The peak was the situational factor he experienced, namely the stage of religious conversion (mualaf) because the teachings in Islam are considered the right way and are more capable of bringing life satisfaction.

With the results of Cronbach's alpha value close to 1.00, it can be used for research. The proposed hypothesis results are accepted based on the study results obtained R= 0.901 with p = 0.000 (p <0.05). There is a significant relationship between Self Disclosure with Self-Adjustment and Self-Esteem in 7th-grade students at SMP Negeri 3 Pangkah.
