Abstract

Introduction: The problem that is often experienced by young women is anemia. This anemia condition causes them to feel lethargic, dizzy, and a pale face. This situation causes them to be less eager to carry out activities and interfere with their learning concentration. Objective: This study aimed to determine the reliability test results of the questionnaire on the level of knowledge about anemia in adolescents. Methods: This study used a cross-sectional study method. This research was conducted on February 28, 2021. The study population was all adolescents in the Islamic Boarding School of Tahfizh Putri Alfirdaus Hidayatullah, Sekardangan, Sidoarjo. The sampling technique used was total sampling. The sample size of the study was 24 adolescents. This study used a modified questionnaire for adolescent knowledge about anemia (Zulaekah, 2007). The questionnaire used in this study only used 8 items from the original questionnaire. The data analysis carried out was Mean, Standard Deviation, and Cronbach's Alpha. Results: Based on the results of the reliability test on the adolescent knowledge level questionnaire, it was found that Cronbach's Alpha was .594. This illustrates that the questionnaire is good enough to be used as an instrument in research. Conclusion: A modified questionnaire about the level of adolescent knowledge about anemia can be used in a study.

Abstract

Background: Early childhood gross motor skills should have been able to perform activities such as jumping both one foot and two feet, catching balls, and exercising. Some children have good gross motor, but on the other hand there are children who have obstacles in the development of gross motor, so it is slower than other children. Objective: This study aims to analyze the Influence of playing throw and catch ball on gross Motor of Pre-School Age Children in Garuda Kindergarten. Method: This research design uses pre-experimental with a one-group pre-post test design approach. The population in this study was all grade A students of Garuda Surabaya Kindergarten which numbered 35 students and the sample number were 35 students. The sampling technique in this study is Total Sampling. The independent variable in the study playing throw and catch ball and the dependent variable is a gross motor development. Instruments used are observation sheets and SOP. Data analysis using Wilcoxon signed rank test. Result: The results showed that there was an increasing in children's motor development in Garuda Kindergarten The results of statistical tests showed the p value (0.000) < ɑ (0.05). Conclusion: There is an influence of playing throw and catch ball to the gross motor development of preschool-age children, this is because playing the ball will stimulate nerves and increase movement in the child so that the gross motor becomes better. To improve the development of gross Motor in children can playing throw and catch ball at home and at school.

Abstract

Background: Menopausal women experience various physical changes leading to psychological problems, such as anxiety, and may cause negative emotions. Regulating positive emotions in menopausal women may increase the happiness level in this population. Objective: This study aims to analyze the effect of positive emotional regulation towards the happiness level in menopausal women Methods: This analytic observational study utilized cross sectional design. The population was all female elders living in community under the supervision of Kenjeran Public Health Center, and the sampel was menopausal women. The independent variable was positive emotional regulation, while the dependent variable was the  happiness level. Valid and reliable questionnaires were used in data collection. Linear regression test was used in data analysis. Results: All respondents (100%) had good positive emotions, and most respondents (59.5%) had a high level of happiness. Linear regression test showed that positive emotional regulation affected the happiness level significantly in menopausal women (p<0.05). Conclusions:  Positive emotions affect the happiness level ini menopausal women.

Abstract

Background: Elderly face various health problems that need immediate and integrated handling. With increasing age, there will be a decrease in body function in the elderly both physically, physiologically and psychologically. The mental health problem that often occurs in the elderly is feeling worried. Objektif:: This study aims to analyze whether there is a relationship between anxiety levels and sleep quality among the elderly in Surabaya. Methods: The design of this study was analytic correlation with the approach used  cross-sectional. The population Is all elderly in the qoryah thoyyibah kenjeran Surabaya posyandu, which amounted to 44   elderly. The sampel size of this study was 40 respondents, probability sampling technique was simple random sampling, this study contained an independent variable of anxiety level while the dependent variable was sleep quality. data collection instrument using a questionnaire. The data were analyzed using the spearman rank correlation test with a value of a = 0,05. Results: The results of research from 40 respondents showed that half (50%) experienced severe anxiety and almost half (47,5) had moderate sleep quality. Further analysis using the spearman rank test with a significance level of a= 0,05, the value of p=0.02 is obtained, which means p<a the Ho is rejected, which means that there is a relationship between the level of anxiety and the quality of sleep in the elderly at qoryah thoyyibah kenjeran Surabaya Conclusions: The conclusion of this study is that there is relationship between anxiety and sleep quality in the elderly at qoryah thoyyibah kenjeran Surabaya posyandu. It is hoped that the result of this study can develop the ability of further researchers to conduct more specific research related to the relationship between anxiety levels and sleep quality in the elderly.

Abstract

Background: Stroke is a disease caused by disruption of blood flow to areas of the brain that are blocked in the cerebral or cervical arteries which result in decreased or even loss of function controlled by brain tissue. One of the effects caused by stroke is hemiparesis. Rehabilitation therapy plays an important role in a comprehensive restoration of bodily functions due to stroke, this program aims to restore function to reduce disability, one of the treatments is to use acupuncture meridian points. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of acupuncture meridian points in increasing muscle strength in stroke patients. Methods: The research design used in this study was a randomized controlled trial (RCT) design. The number of samples of all stroke patients at the Holistic nursing therapy clinic in Probolinggo and the Healer School Jember Clinic that met the inclusion criteria from October 2020 to March 2021 were 270 respondents. Data collection techniques used observation sheets to assess muscle strength before and after the intervention of acupuncture meridian points in stroke patients. Data analysis used was the Wilcoxon test with a statistical significance value accepted if p <0.05. Results: The results of the data analysis of the intervention group showed a significant value of hand muscle strength (p 0.003; α 0.05) and leg (p 0.005, α 0.05) where (p <0.05) it can be concluded that there is a significant difference in strength. A muscle in the intervention group before and after being given acupuncture. The findings of this study suggest that there is a significant effect of acupuncture on lower and upper muscle strength. Conclusion: In general, the use of acupuncture meridian points can increase muscle strength in stroke patients, so the use of acupuncture meridian points can provide benefits for restoring muscle strength in stroke patients.

Abstract

Background: Type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM) is a chronic disease that has a negative physical and psychological impact. The psychological impact such as feeling useless and depressed. It causes a high level of anxiety, which makes a person vulnerable. Thus, it will complicate the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus. Objective: This study aims to analyze the effect of guided imagery therapy on the level of anxiety in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Methods: This study used pre-experimental designs with one group pretest-posttest design with a sample of 26 respondents taken using simple random sampling technique. Measuring the level of anxiety using the Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HARS) questionnaire. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon statistical test. Results: Data of respondents with DM who had anxiety before the guided imagery therapy in the mild anxiety level category were 21 people (81%), after the therapy decreased with the anticipation category as many as 21 people (81%).  Obtained p-value 0.000 with α = 0.05 (p < α), indicating that there is an effect of guided imagery therapy on anxiety levels in type 2 diabetes mellitus patients in Bulak Banteng Health Center Area. Conclusions: This study shows that applying guided imagery therapy can reduce anxiety levels in patient with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Researchers recommend that future researchers use more samples.

Abstract

Background: Factors that influence self-esteem among young people are social environments. The social environment renders the individuals doing the interaction and one type of interaction which does not need of face to face is through social media such as Instagram. Objective: This study aimed to obtain the correlations between the intensity of using social media Instagram with the level of self-esteem among eleventh-grade youth in a public senior high school in Malang. Method: This research used cross-sectional design. A sample of this research was eleventh-grade youth of senior high school with 86 active Instagram users. Data collecting in this study used the purposive sampling technique. A questionnaire used in this research intensively used Instagram and self-esteem questionnaires on social media. The data analysis used the Spearman test. Result: The result showed that the intensity of using social media Instagram with the level of self-esteem of eleventh-grade youth were mostly in low categories, while self-esteem level was mostly in the high category. The outcome indicated that the significant value = 0.310 (p<0.05) and the correlation coefficient = 0.111. Conclusion: There was no significant correlation between the intensity of using social media Instagram with the level of self-esteem of eleventh-grade youth. Further research is to analyse the social media used by youths other than Instagram and its correlation to self-concept, include self-esteem.

Abstract

Background: Arthritis Gout or Gout is also a category of chronic non-communicable disease (NCD). Gout is a metabolic disease caused by excess levels of uric compounds in the body. A Pharmacological approach that can be used is the administration of NSAID drugs. The non-pharmacological approach can be in the form of education, setting a low-purine diet and pain management guidelines using warm compresses to reduce pain gout sufferers and improve or maintain function and quality of life. Objective: To determine the effect of warm water compresses application with pieces of ginger and lemongrass on pain intensity in patients with gout arthritis. Methods: This was a pre-experimental study with one group using pre and post-test approach. The sample was patients with gout arthritis who experienced pain in the joints as many as 25 respondents were selected using simple random sampling. The data analysis was using Wilcoxon Statistical Test. Result: This study was using respondents precentage for pre and post-test, the average respondent experienced moderate pain and after the intervention, the pain intesity decreased to relax and comfortable. Statistical test results showed p-value = 0.000< =0.05, meaning that there was an effect of giving warm water compresses with pieces of ginger and lemongrass on the pain intensity of means that it had an impact on pain intensity in people with gout. Conclusion: This result showed that the application of warm water compresses with pieces of ginger and lemongrass could lowering the pain intensity in people with gout.

Abstract

Background: Increased serum uric acid levels are the strong predictors of death due to cardiovascular damage. The sedentary lifestyle tends to make physical inactivity and less attention to nutrition in eating. There has been a lifestyle shifting, whether we realize it or not. Objective: The purpose of this study was to analyze the correlation between lifestyle and the incidence of uric acid in the elderly at nursing home (Griya Werdha) Jambangan Surabaya. Methods: This study was an analytic study with a cross-sectional approach. The population was 150 elders. A total sample was 109 respondents which taken used Simple Random Sampling.  The independent variable was lifestyle and the dependent variable was the incidence of uric acid in the elderly. The research instrument used a questionnaire and observation. This research test used Fisher's exact test = 0.05. Results: The results showed that some respondents (78.9%) experienced a bad lifestyle and some respondents (81.7%) increased uric acid. There was a correlation between lifestyle and increased of uric acid levels (p=0.000). Conclusion: The worse a person's lifestyle, the higher risk of increased uric acid levels. It is expected that the elderly able to perform a healthy lifestyle to prevent elevated uric acid levels

Abstract

Background: Successful stroke management depends on the speed, accuracy, and timeliness of the initial treatment. Stroke patients with immediate medical help can minimize permanent disability and even mortality. Objective: This study analyzes the correlation between family knowledge on prehospital stroke detection with hospital arrival time. Method: The research design was correlational analytic with a cross-sectional approach. This paper was conducted at the Naval Hospital Dr.Ramelan, Surabaya, from January to February 2019, with ethical clearance from the hospital. The independent variable was family knowledge on prehospital stroke detection, and the dependent variable was hospital arrival time. There were 115 population and 111 samples by consecutive sampling technique. The instrument to measure family knowledge was a questionnaire about prehospital stroke detection consisted of 30 items, while to evaluate hospital arrival time was data from the medical record. The data analysis used the Mann-Whitney statistical test with a significance of 0.05. Result: Most respondents had adequate knowledge regarding prehospital stroke detection (54.1%) and early hospital arrival time (59.5%).  There was a correlation between family knowledge on prehospital stroke detection and hospital arrival time in stroke patients (p=0.000). Conclusion: The better family knowledge on prehospital stroke detection, the faster hospital time arrival. Health workers should give health education on prehospital stroke detection to prevent delayed hospital arrival. Further research could involve electronic and social media to improve knowledge on prehospital stroke detection.
