Abstract

The health problem that is currently receiving global attention is the Covid-19 disease. Coronavirus disease first appeared in December 2019 in Wuhan City, China. The United States was still the country with the most cases, namely 3,896,855 cases of coronavirus infection, and Indonesia was ranked 25. The number of cases in Indonesia was still above China and below Egypt which recorded 87,775 cases, while Bantul Regency occupies the highest case in DI Province. Yogyakarta, where the active status is 30,366. One of the most important things to pay attention to in the context of handling Covid-19 cases is knowledge, especially public knowledge which is still low in terms of preventing the transmission of the spread of the Covid-19 virus. The purpose of the study was to determine the relationship between knowledge and community compliance in the application of 3M. This study was non-experimental with a cross-sectional design. The population was the people in Potorono Village, Banguntapan, Bantul. The sampling technique used a consecutive sampling technique and obtained a large sample of 80 respondents. The statistical test used the Chi-Square test. The results showed that most of the community's knowledge was in a good category and community compliance in the application of 3M was in the obedient category. The results of the statistical test obtained a p-value of 0.000 (p<0.05), which means that there was a relationship between public knowledge and compliance in the application of 3M. Communities recommended maintaining compliance in the application of 3M.

Abstract

Diabetic foot ulcers occur in diabetic feet due to impaired blood circulation in the legs, nervous system disorders, and infection due to decreased body immunity. One of the new interventions that can be performed on diabetic feet is electric stimulation. Electric Stimulating aims to re-establish cell migration by mimicking a physiological current of injury (COI), which is an electric current from the center of the body to the injured nerve or muscle, or to other tissues that are stimulated. The purpose of this literature review was to analyze the application of electric stimulation for diabetic foot ulceration based on empirical studies over the last five years. The design of this research was a literature review. The method used was to search for articles with keywords that have been determined in an electronic database related to electric stimulation in diabetic foot wounds. The electronic database comes from Google Scholar, Researchgate, Wiley, EBSCO and Pubmed in the last five years as many as 8 journals that match the inclusion criteria set by the authors. The results of the analysis showed that electric stimulation on diabetic foot wounds could help wound healing and smooth peripheral tissue perfusion. This literature review can be a reference in performing nursing care and applied in the treatment of diabetic foot wounds in nursing services.

Abstract

The maternal mortality rate is still high in Indonesia, especially in the archipelago, and shows a low level of health. A Maternity Waiting Home (MWH) is a place or room near a health facility (hospital, health center, poskesdes) that can be used as a temporary residence for pregnant women and their companions (husband/cadre/shaman/family) for several days while waiting for delivery and a few days after giving birth. A literature review using the narrative literature review method was carried out by synthesizing and analyzing 3 scientific article search engines. Searching for manuscripts on the three search engines found 6 manuscripts that match the specified topic, namely the use of birth waiting homes for mothers in the islands. The results of the literature review showed that several factors influence the use of MWH, including distance to health facilities, travel time, socio-economic conditions of the community, completeness of MWH  facilities, and community participation. Efforts to utilize this MWH are expected to increase access to health services, and the number of deliveries to incompetent health care facilities and can reduce cases of complications for pregnant women, maternity mothers, postpartum mothers, and newborns.

Abstract

There were several incidents of work accidents in the form of needle sticks recorded in several studies in Indonesia from 2014-2021, totaling 57 cases. Potential hazards in educational laboratories are considered lower than in health laboratories and industrial laboratories because they use relatively fewer materials. However, it will still result in financial losses, injuries and damage to equipment and infrastructure. Based on the results of interviews with the head of the nursing laboratory sub-unit, it was found that some students did not wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) during the practicum. In 2019 there were 2 incidents of students getting needle sticks during practice. There were 3 students who did not wear full PPE when the practicum took place in 2022. Compliance with the use of PPE at the Tanjungpinang Health Polytechnic Nursing Laboratory during the practicum greatly affects the personal safety of the students themselves. This study aimed to determine the practice of using PPE on student work safety in the nursing laboratory. The researcher involved all students of the second semester of Nursing Study Program for the 2021-2022 academic year and were willing to be involved in research. The number of respondents as many as 78 people. Data were obtained through a questionnaire in the form of a test sheet containing 30 questions. The results of data analysis showed that 55% of respondents had high knowledge of the use of PPE and as many as 46% had a positive attitude in using PPE and 54% had a negative attitude. Students are required to read laboratory rules and provide sanctions to students who do not comply with the use of PPE in the laboratory.

Abstract

Acute Respiratory Infection (ARI) was one type of environmental-based infectious disease. In Indonesia, ARI always occupies the first position of 10 cases of disease with the highest number. The results of Riskesdas 2018 reported that the prevalence of ARI was 9.3%. This study aims to determine the factors associated with ARI symptoms in children under five in the Depati VII Public Health Center of Kerinci Regency in 2022. This study was a quantitative study with a cross sectional design. The sampling technique used accidental sampling technique with a total of 85 samples. Data collection was carried out in February-March 2022. The data analysis technique used the chi-square test. The results showed that the factors related to the symptoms of ARI in toddlers were the area of ventilation with ARI symptoms in toddlers (p=0.025), humidity levels in toddlers (p=0.001), occupancy density (p=0.017), smoking habits (p=0.002) while the unrelated were immunization status (p=0.491) and exclusive breastfeeding (p=0.402). The area of ventilation, the level of humidity, the level of occupancy density, and smoking habits have a relationship with the symptoms of ARI in children under five. It is hoped that health workers will improve the early warning system for ARI outbreaks by increasing knowledge, attitudes and behavior about the importance of healthy home hygiene, and health centers can also work with religious leaders/communities to maintain environmental health, especially healthy homes through socialization.
