Abstract

Milkfish bone waste from the thornless milkfish industry contains have sufficient protein, calcium and phosphorus element. The milkfish bones can be processed and used as fish bone meal which is used as a substitute for processed foods, including wet noodles. This study aims to evaluate the physicochemical analysis of noodles wet. The research design used was a completely randomized design with one factor, namely the formulation of. milkfish bone meal to substitute for wheat, with the composition, F0 (100:0), F1 (95:5), F2 (90 :10), F3 (85:15) and F4 (80:20). Research observations include water content, protein content, water absorbtion, dough expantion and texture. The results were analyzed by analysis of variance (ANAVA) and the smallest significant difference (BNT) if, there was a difference at the 5% level of significance. The substitution formulation of milkfish bone meal had a significant effect on all parameters.The more addition of milkfish meal.the higher the protein content will increase the rate protein content and the water content, water absorption,dought expantion and texture are lower.Base on the protein content, it is recommended to add 20% fish bone meal because it has the highest protein content. The best treatment for water content, water absorption, dough expantion and texture was the addition 0f 5% fish bone meal. Abstract

Producing fruit leather in Indonesia is still rarely done in the food industry, even though it is hoped to make bread presentation problems more practical. Fruit leather can be made from fruits, such as using watermelon skin (albedo) which is often discarded even though the pectin content is high. Watermelon rind has a color, taste and aroma that is less attractive, so it needs to be combined with red guava because it has a distinctive color, taste and aroma. This study aims to identify the effect of the combination of watermelon skin and red guava on sheet jam's chemical, physical, and organoleptic characteristics. Also, to determine the most preferred combination based on organoleptic tests. The study used a completely randomized design with 1 factor: a combination of watermelon skin and red guava with 4 levels of treatment : P1 (20% : 80%), P2 (30% : 70%), P3 (40% : 60%) dan P4 (50% : 50%). Parameters observed were water content, pectin content, pH, ash content, reducing sugar content, total dissolved solids and texture. This data is analyzed by Analysis of Variance and the smallest significant difference (if there is a difference). The organoleptic test was carried out on 44 panelists (untrained) covering taste, color, aroma and texture using five levels of preference scale: very dislike (1), dislike (2), neutral (3), like (4) and very like (5). The formulation with the use of more watermelon skin and less red guava resulted in an increase in water content and pectin content, the texture was more supple. On the other hand, reducing sugar content, total dissolved solids and ash content decreased. In terms of color and taste, panelists prefer P1 and P2 treatments. Regarding aroma, the four treatments received relatively the same response, as for texture, panelists prefer the P3 treatment, therefore the recommended combination is treatment P1 and P2. Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh variasi jumlah ikan nila (Oreochromis nilotics) terhadap pertumbuhan tanaman sawi pagoda (Brassica narinosa) dengan sistem akuaponik. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAK) dengan tiga perlakuan dan sembilan ulangan. Perlakuan pada penelitian adalah perbedaan jumlah ikan (40, 60 dan 80 ekor) yang digunakan pada sistem akuaponik. Penelitian dilakukan selama 45 hari, parameter yang diamati adalah jumlah daun, kandungan klorofil total dan berat basah tanaman sawi pagoda (Brassica narinosa). Data hasil penelitian dianalisis menggunakan uji Analysy of Variance, jika berpengaruh signifikan maka analisis dilanjutkan dengan uji Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT). Hasil Analysy of Variance jumlah daun dan kandungan klorofil total tanaman sawi pagoda (Brassica narinosa) pada penelitian ini menunjukkan hasil yang signifikan yakni (P<0,05), pada berat basah didapatkan signifikasi 0,077 (P>0,05). Dapat disimpulkan bahwa variasi jumlah ikan nila berpengaruh terhadap jumlah daun dan kandungan klorofil total, tetapi tidak berpengaruh terhadap berat basah tanaman sawi pagoda (Brassica narinosa). Hasil uji Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT) menunjukkan bahwa jumlah ikan nila 80 ekor paling berpengaruh terhadap jumlah daun dan klorofil total. Kata Kunci: Akuaponik, Ikan Nila, Sawi Pagoda, Pertumbuhan.

Abstract

Anggrek vanda di pasar lokal maupun ekspor memiliki permintaan yang sangat tinggi hal ini tidak sebanding dengan perbanyakan vegetative anggrek vanda yang terbatas. Perbanyakan anggrek vanda dengan metode kultur jaringan merupakan solusi dalam perbanyakan bibit anggrek vanda dan dengan kultur jaringan didapatkan bibit anggrek yang berkualitas tinggi. Penelitian ini bertujuan agar mengetahui perlakuan zat pengatur tumbuh NAA dan BAP juga mengetahui konsentrasi optimum penambahan NAA dan BAP terhadap media tumbuh anggrek vanda. Penelitian ini termasuk penelitian eksperimental dimana peneliti menggunakan metode rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan yang berbeda yakni MS (0ppm NAA + 0ppm BAP), MS (2ppm NAA + 2ppm BAP), MS (4ppm NAA + 4ppm BAP), MS (6ppm NAA + 6ppm BAP) diulang sebanyak 3 kali pada setiap perlakuan dan dianalisis menggunakan (ANOVA) dengan taraf signifikan (p<0.05) kemudian dilanjutkan menggunakan uji Duncan Multiple Range Test. Penelitian ini menggunakan parameter uji yakni jumlah akar, jumlah daun, berat masaa planlet dan tinggi tanaman. Hasil dari penelitian ini terdapat perbedaan signifikan ddengan pemberian beberapa perlakuan zat pengatur tumbuh NAA dan BAP pada medi MS. Perlakuan B (MS + 2ppm NAA + 2ppm BAP) merupakan perlakuan terbaik dalam mendapatkan hasil optimum guna meningkatkan jumlah akar dan berat massa planlet anggrek vanda. Hasil pada penelitian mampu menjadi referensi bagi pembudidaya kultur jaringan tanaman anggrek vanda. Pembudidaya disarankan menggunakan zat pengatur tumbuh dengan konsentrasi 2ppm NAA dan 2ppm BAP untuk meningkatkan pertambahan jumlah akar dan berat massa planlet anggrek vanda. Kata Kunci : Anggrek Vanda, BAP, Media MS, NAA dan Kultur Jaringan.

Abstract

Flies are insects that act as vectors of mechanical disease, because disease agents such as pathogenic bacteria do not change in the fly's body but only move disease agents from polluted places to clean places. Flies can be controlled with plant-based insecticides. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of frangipani leaf juice (Plumeria acuminata) on the death of house fly (Musca domestica). This research is an experimental research with the design of "Post Test Only With Control Group Design". The concentration of juice used is 70%, 80%, 90%, 100%. Each treatment was tested on 10 flies with three replications. Each concentration was tested by spraying on the flies with three sprays and observations were made every 10 minutes for one hour. The results of the study were analyzed using linear regression with a 95% confidence level. The results showed that there was an effect of frangipani leaf juice on the death of house flies (p = 0.00). Based on the results, it can be concluded that the juice of frangipani leaves (Plumeria acuminata) has an effect on the death of the house fly (Musca domestica). Abstract

Soil fertility affects production which in turn uses dayak onion as a plant with low medicinal properties. Paitan leaf compost is known to be used as plant fertilizer that can improve soil fertility. This study aims to determine the effect of giving various concentrations of paitan leaf compost fermented by tape yeast on the growth and yield of dayak onions. The study was conducted experimentally using a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 6 treatments and 4 replications. The research was conducted in Grabagan Village, Tulangan District, Sidoarjo Regency. The treatments consisted of pearl chemical NPK fertilizer (16:16:16) as a positive control, without fertilization as a negative control, and 4 concentrations of paitan leaf compost, namely 10%, 20%, 30% and 40%. The results showed that fertilization had a significant effect (P<0.05) on leaf length, number of leaves, fresh weight and dry weight. The highest yield of fresh weight and dry weight of Dayak onions was obtained from paitan leaf compost fertilization with a concentration of 20%. Abstract

Lansium domesticum Corr. is called Duku, an endemic Indonesian plant whose fruit has commercial value. The formation of the seeds of this plant takes a relatively long time (±15 years) for conventional propagation. Micropropagation with plant tissue culture techniques can be a solution. In the first phase of micropropagation, optimization of the type and concentration of growth regulators for callus induction is needed. This study aimed to determine the response of various types of duku explants (such as leaves, petioles, and mother petioles) to combinations of growth regulators (such as 0 ppm 2,4-D + 0 ppm BAP; 0.75 ppm 2,4-D + 0, 5 ppm BAP; 0.75 ppm 2,4-D + 0.75 ppm BAP; 0.75 ppm 2,4-D + 1 ppm BAP) in callus induction. The explants were cultured on Wood Plant Medium (WPM) with 30 g sucrose and 8 g agar for 28 days. The results showed that the concentration of 0.75 2,4-D + 0.75 BAP with leaf stalk mother explants was the best for callus formation. The characteristics of the callus formed were white-yellow with a compact texture. Keywords : Lansium domesticum Corr., Callus induction, Growth regulators, Types of explants.

Abstract

Fertilization is one of the important activities in the maintenance of soybean plants to obtain optimal growth and production. Soybeans really need nutrients N, P, and K to meet the needs of growth, flower formation and pod filling. The research was to determine the effect of liquid organic fertilizer from lamtoro leaves with the addition of rice husk charcoal media on the yield of the number of pods and pod weight of soybean plants. There were 5 treatments, namely negative control (0%), positive control (inorganic fertilizers), A1 (10%), A2 (20%), A3 (30%) in increasing the growth of soybean plants. The study used CRD with 5 treatments and 5 replications. The statistical test used the ANOVA test and the LSD / LSD test, then the Duncan test was performed. The results of the study showed that the administration of POC of lamtoro leaves and rice husk charcoal had a significant effect (P <0.05) on the yield (number of pods and pod weight) of soybean plants with an optimal concentration of 30%. Abstract

Living things undergo very complex growth and development. Mammals as a class in the kingdom animalia have organ growth, some of which leave residual organs or vestigial organs that still need to be studied more deeply about their role. Vestigial organs are often referred to as evidence of evolution and can be used as markers in the kinship of living things. The existence of vestigial organs in the mammalian body can be found in several places. The purpose of writing this article is to determine the role of vestigial organs in mammals. Many vestigial organs are considered to have no function, even though some of them actually support the survival of these living things. The vestigial organs that can still be found in mammals are: coecum, appendix, third eyelid, auricle muscle, wisdom teeth, splint bone, nails and spine and pelvic girdleThe vestigial organs still have a role even though not in a large part of them; become part of the lymphatic system, move muscles in mechanisms to maintain homeostasis, support other organs in the body and organ development to more complex stages. In addition to the role in this regard, the vestigial organs are still important to study because they are an important part of the growth and development of the body where its existence must have a meaning either to stop during the developmental period or to continue to have a role as long as the vestigial organs are present in the body.

Abstract

Ginseng jawa (Talinum paniculatum) dikenal akarnya berkhasiat sebagai penambah stamina. Selain itu, beberapa penelitian telah membuktikan ekstrak daun ginseng jawa juga berkhasiat obat. Sampai saat ini belum ada informasi tentang teknik kultivasi ginseng jawa dengan tujuan utama mendapatkan biomassa daun. Hidroponik adalah salah satu teknik kultivasi tanpa tanah yang terbukti dapat meningkatkan hasil panen (biomassa), kualitas dan kandungan zat aktif tanaman sayur. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui jenis sistem hidroponik terbaik untuk pertumbuhan daun stek batang ginseng jawa. Sistem hidroponik yang digunakan yaitu DFT, NFT dan aeroponik. Stek batang dikultivasi pada ketiga sistem selama 60 hari di dalam rumah kaca. Pada akhir kultivasi dilakukan pengukuran luas area daun dan kadar klorofil. Hasil pengamatan menunjukkan jenis sistem berpengaruh nyata pada luas daun dan kadar klorofil. Luas area daun tertinggi sampai terendah berturut-turut diperoleh dari sistem aeroponik, NFT dan DFT. Sebaliknya, kadar klorofil tertinggi sampai terendah berturut-turut diperoleh dari sistem DFT, NFT dan aeroponik. Hasil ini mengindikasikan suplai oksigen yang cukup pada daerah perakaran menjadi faktor kritis pertumbuhan stek batang ginseng jawa dibandingkan kadar klorofil. Pada akhirnya, penelitian ini merekomendasikan sistem aeroponik untuk menumbuhkan stek batang ginseng Jawa dengan tujuan memperoleh biomassa daun.
