Abstract

The tides, which affect the water level of the Musi River causes some problems to occur in Palembang City. One of the main problems related to the tides of the Musi River, especially the low tide, is the failure of the raw water intake building of Regional Drinking Water Company (PDAM) Tirta Musi, Palembang City to operate. At a certain time the river water level recedes, the minimum water level entering the intake pump room is lower than the safe level for the pump to run. In this study, an analysis of the tides of the Musi River was carried out using the Least Square method to evaluate the design of the raw water intake building for the Gandus system to disclose whether it meets the minimum elevation requirements for pump operation. The field observations of the tides were carried out for 15 days for every 1 hour to obtain the primary data for this study using the Hobo Water Meter. The results of this study indicate that the type of the tides in the location of the study is a mixed tidal type with a Formzahl Value of 2.01. 4. Against the design plan of the gandus system of raw water intake, there is a chance that the elevation of the river water level is at 0.5 m from the end of the pump suction pipe, in which the pump cannot function.

Abstract

Some of the unfavorable characteristics of peat soil are low bearing capacity and high compressibility. The reinforcing material used in this research which functions the same as geogrid are bamboo materials (grids and woven). The bamboo material used aims to determine the carrying capacity and reduction of shallow foundations on peat soil before being reinforced and after being reinforced. Bamboo matting and rectangular patterned bamboo grids. Laboratory scale testing were used as the research methodology. The peat soil sampling location came from the area of Dusun III Banyu Urip, Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra Province. The bamboo material is obtained from the Seberang Ulu area, Palembang City and sand is obtained from the sand depot in the Musi II area, Palembang City. The results of laboratory testing show that the addition of the number of reinforcement layers and the effective layer depth distance will give a greater bearing capacity ratio (BCR) value. The bearing capacity value of the shallow foundation before being reinforced on peat soil using Terzaghi's analysis is 45.232 kpa. Then, after testing the variation in the depth of the layer d = 0b; d = 0.25b; and d = 0.5b with the number of layers 1 layer, 2 layers and 3 layers obtained a variation which gives the highest bearing capacity value of layer depth variations d = 0.25b with the number of layers of 3 layers. The bearing capacity value is 94 kpa with a BCR value of 2.08 (percent increase of 107.96 %).

Abstract

The development of environmentally friendly infrastructure is very important to reduce the environmental damage that has occurred. Environmentally friendly infrastructure can be supported by vertical garden. Plants in vertical garden undergo evaporation process called evapotranspiration process. The evapotranspiration process can be used to find out the needs of water in plants. The method used to obtain the evapotranspiration value is the Penman-Monteith method. The plants used are Plectranthus scutellarioides, Begonia, Coleus, Euodia ridleyi dwarf, Euodia ridleyi, and Chlorophytum comosum. The reference evapotranspiration value in The Hydraulic Laboratory of Sriwijaya University is 4.9826 mm/day and the smallest is 2.1262 mm/day. The reference evapotranspiration value is influenced by temperature, wind speed, and humidity conditions. Based on these three influences, temperature has a greater influence on the reference evapotranspiration. The largest evapotranspiration value of the six types of plants used is the Plectranthus scutellarioides, which is 3.3347 mm/day, the evapotranspiration value of the smallest plant is Euodia ridleyi dwarf, which is 2.6616 mm/day. The location and arrangement of plants and environmental conditions such as temperature, humidity, wind speed affect the amount of evapotranspiration value.

Abstract

Tengkuruk Permai street is currently used for city transportation terminals, on street parking, access and exit to 16 Ilir market parking lot (off street parking), entrance to Ampera Bridge, passenger access to LRT stations and Skate Park. The various functions of this street caused the reduction in street service levels at certain hours and become a congestion point in Palembang city. This study aims to obtain the results of the analysis of Tengkuruk Permai’s street performance in the scenario conditions of terminal relocation and on street parking. The data were collected directly by measuring and enumeration then micro-simulated with the Vissim software. Vissim microsimulation modeling is carried out in existing conditions and scenarios by combining the 3 (three) floors parking building construction plans, city transport routes, Tengkuruk Permai street which has been cleared of on street parking and terminals, street networks around the research location and intersection arrangements concurrently. The street performance analysis uses the calculation of the V/C ratio, where the calculation of the street capacity uses the Vissim microsimulation output such as speed, density and volume obtained in the link of segment evaluation menu. Capacity determination is using the calculation of relation of flow (q), velocity (v) and density (k). The scenario of relocating the city transport terminal and street parking to the 3 (three) floors parking building plan at 16 Ilir market parking lot can increase the capacity of Tengkuruk Permai Street from 1087,88 pcu/hour/direction to 2295.15 pcu/hour/direction and improve the service level from level E to level A.
